I recently saw a mini documentary on how Cisco foods is ruining the restaurant industry. That most restaurants just buy everything off of these big box places and often you're just paying for the same deep-fried stuff or just paying for the same prepackaged premade stuff from different restaurants with a big markup. They did mention US foods as being another big one and you might be thinking of why am I giving it five stars if that's the case? Well, here it is if I'm buying the same stuff that I'm enjoying at restaurants at a fraction of the cost of being able to eat it at home what a game changer. It all started long ago, and I realized that nobody made their gyro fresh. I saw the box googled it, saw that US foods carried it, and then realized they carried the bread. the sauce and everything. Fast forward I'm eating some of these restaurants that I was paying way too much for at home and having the kids and family would be happy. Sometimes you just need 50 pound bags of flour. Sometimes you need things that you don't want shipped sometimes I need a gallon of my favorite soy sauce because I'm a creature of habit and this is my go to place for that. So next time you're thinking wow that item looks a lot like something I've gotten at a restaurant recently. It just might be that same item so you might want to pick it up and save yourself the trouble. Then you can continue to look for unique authentic places to spend your money to enjoy local flavors and artisan craftsmanship and not just reheated bulk that you can buy at a great establishment like this. read more

It's fun being here. Since they are a commercial kitchen supplies store, they have everything in bulk. Still you can find things where you don't need to buy a lot. It's also fun the kitchen hardware and Equipment section. One finds unusual things. They're called section is huge everything one might imagine from butter to phyllo dough. If you decide to enter, make sure you have a good jacket as it's really cold in there . The service for the most part is pretty good. Be aware though you need to be a member to shop in there; however, you can get a day pass by filling out a small form. The parking lot is not very large but adequate. read more

Poor return policy. I couldn't even exchange a bottle of Torani syrup that was absolutely disgusting to use. It was 99% full. Had to throw it away because I didn't have my paper receipt. Must be nice to earn a small profit this way. read more

I usually love going here to get my at home coffee syrups here. I saw this morning they are offering matcha. as I was checking out, I physically asked Jefferey- who was cashing me out - if I could return it if I didn't like it & he told me YES. I got home - opened the bag and the matcha was brown! not even green. so I went back a few hours later to return and they told no because it was opened. had I known that I WOULD NOT have bought it in the first place. don't tell customers yes when you cannot return items that are opened. or tell me thats the return policy not tell me YES I can return it. so frustrating being lied to. read more

I've been coming to this food service warehouse for quite some time; I know it as, 'cash n carry', and these are some of the best prices for bulk I have seen! I come here for personal items like the gloves as well as ranch and other goodies I may see. They don't have anything smaller for personal size, it's mainly large bulk product for small-owned business owners; back in the day, you had to have a membership / business to get in, now it's for everyone. The lines can be long on the weekends, but associates are friendly and speedy! The store is always clean and organized. . This is honestly a great warehouse with some really great deals! read more

absolutely disgusting how they treat their customers. I completely understand people these days and I could only imagine what they do to get money. however I am a BUSINESS OWNER! not out of Portland. I am out of Eugene. I have 3 bars over there. and do plenty of business with US Foods CHEF'S STORE. My father is very ill and I've been stuck in Portland for the past few weeks I lost my receipt in the vacuums at the car wash. I called and spoke with Josh. Explained the situation I had four items I needed to return. He told me yes I was able to do so then when I get there the lady looked at me like I was a piece of trash on the sidewalk. Absolutely disappointed. The last thing I would do is try and steal from anybody. What is more of a shame is how people make you feel when your simply just trying to return a couple things for your business... It is appalling how they treat their customers. I completely comprehend the current situation and can only imagine their methods to obtain money. However, I am a business owner, not from Portland, but from Eugene. I have three bars there and do substantial business with US Foods CHEF'S STORE. My father is severely ill, and I have been confined to Portland for the past few weeks. I vacuumed my receipt in the vacuum cleaner at the car wash. I contacted Josh and explained the situation, stating that I needed to return four items. He informed me that I could do so, but upon my arrival, the employee treated me with disdain. I was deeply disappointed. The last thing I would do is attempt to defraud anyone. Former Cash n Carry... Very clean interior. Everything you love and appreciate about cash n carry... well stocked. I like to get my sugar free coffee and tea fixings (think flavored syrups) here. If I ever have a large bbq I will probably get the meat here too. Found what I was looking for... was drawn to the seasoning aisle but they didn't have dry powder gravy that I was looking for. It's ok I got my syrups all life is great lol. Reasonable prices but then they do support restaurants so I expect that. The line however.... now the line is why I took a star away... it was down an aisle around the corner and down another aisle...argh... lol two registers open and in their defense they were working hard and maintaining extremely upbeat attitudes. But it was simply a long long wait to check out... I will be back. I may need to restock my to go containers too and this is the place to do that! read more

What a great Place to shop for all cooking needs! Bought two aluminum cookie sheets! I had bout a couple from a kitchen store but they were starting to rust after a month! Needed to get good quality! They only cost about $8 too! What a steal! Bought a ham and turkey breast for Thanksgiving too. Great deal and without the crowd I know the other stores are having today! we timed it just right. No crowd! A lot of their things are sold in larger sizes for restaurants but they also have a lot of household size items at super prices! I got some great prices on seasonings, 12 pack sodas, sodas and so much more. read more

This store is right near our house. We come here all the time for rice, brisket, bacon and vegetables. They have an awesome walk in frig with a wide selection of meats and vegetables. They have a good selection of dried and frozen goods too. Think of this store like you would a Costco but somewhat smaller. Everything is in a big pack and geared towards a larger family or business. Checking out is fast and easy, there are always 2 if not more cashiers open. Keep in mind they they don't do bags since the items they sell are in larger quantities. We love coming here and will continue to do so. read more

Another Cash N Carry. I use C N C a lot. It's a food cart dream land. I mostly use it for the Vending Machines at Church. I get all the snacks I need at a really good price. Some things I have to get from another store that has a more competitive price. Like Soda. Never buy soda from CNC unless you're desperate and willing to pay a very high price. This location also doesn't let you break up cases of snack chips. If you want snack chips you'll have to buy a single flavor by the case. As opposed to the southeast location that lets you break up cases of snack chips. (As long as you have 64 packs, you've got a case.) Other that not being able to break up a case of snack chips, this Cash N Carry has all your regular items. The store is clean and employees are as friendly as it gets. You know how you want to tell the world you have found an awesome place, but then wonder if you now have unleashed the herd on your regular place and now you have to stand in an even longer line? Well, I am throwing caution to the wind and telling everyone who is not buying their steak or brisket here, you are missing out. Seriously, this place is the reason we stopped eating steak at Saylers and going on our regular steakhouse hunts. The first time I went, I had been told I need a business license to shop, so I took mine with me, and they told me they don't really check them. OK, shop on. I was here for a brisket last May, it is a restaurant supply place so you will see a lot of the food cart guys here, a lot of restauranteurs picking up supplies and people like me looking for a few things instead of pick up truck loads. Not everything here is cheaper, I mean you don't want to be buying tin foil here, but they have large packages of almost anything you can think of. The first time I went in the meat locker, there was a cash n carry guy talking to the owner of a restaurant,she was confused about what meat her husband said to get and this guy told her, ALWAYS get the Angus beef, it might be a little more per pound, but worth it. Yes, yes it is worth it, trust me. First we got a brisket from here, it was $1.88 a pound. After we smoked it, one of the best briskets I have ever eaten. Woooohoooo, round two.... let's go back and get another brisket AND a sirloin. You cannot be afraid to cut your own meat, they come in big vacuum packs. Cutting meat is not hard at all, so don't let it deter you from getting the best Sirloin steaks you will ever eat. They are tender enough you can, almost, cut them with a fork, melt in your mouth good. The flavor can't be be topped. We were so impressed with it, that I started grinding it into hamburger. Talk about off the chain, bring a tear to your eye good burgers. I got the slider buns there and made little sliders with them, with the grilled onions and they got eaten before they ever hit the plates. You can amaze your friends and family with meat from here because you won't be getting this kind of flavor from Fred Myers or Safeway. The sirloin prices have fluctuated between $2.50-$3.50 a pound. They have rib eyes for $4.40 a pound and pork loins for $1.99 a pound. It is worth going in and checking them out. They do carry bread and buns in large sizes. The prices do beat Costco. read more

Love this place. Not everything here is the best deal so shop carefully, but most of the prices / quantities are good buys. Definitely my number one choice for spices, chicken, sausages, meat, dressing, and kitchen stuff. Resealable bags, plastic wrap, foil, gloves are all greatly priced here. Great variety and decent prices. I can almost always find what I need or something that will work in its place. My only complaint is the customer service. The employees I dealt with the last couple times are rude and make you want to leave without purchasing anything. They got grumpy when I asked where to find something and then couldn't check us out because we stood in the wrong spot today. read more

Ooooh this place is great. Yes, it's mostly for commercial buyers. Most people don't need No. 10 cans of queso dip or a box of 500 ice cream cones. But if you're planning a big shindig and need to feed a crowd, you can get an awful lot of provisions, for not an awful lot of money. We buy huge bottles of Sriracha here, Torani syrups so I can make fancy coffee drinks or Italian sodas to my heart's content, a huge slab of feta so I can make Greek salads, olive salads, and yummy pasta-you get the idea. Their frozen, pre-made section has some tasty finds too. All in all, it's kind of a fun place to visit, explore, find something that sounds good, and enjoy mass quantities of it. I'm glad they are around. there's no memberships fees or any of that, and they have some great people working there that will get you in and out of the store pronto. Yeah Cash and Carry! read more
