Sometimes finding things in the larger stores can be overwhelming but Food Depot ticked all the boxes for finding what I needed - clean wide aisles, decent variety of brands, fresh produce at very reasonable prices, helpful employees, bright lighting to be able to read labels, and a large selection of items to celebrate the upcoming Chinese New Year. Didn't get a chance to really look at any prices they offered but I did see the selection of items…read moreoffered and personally it looked like expired products, a lot of processed foods outdated appliances and mostly things other stores didn't sell. So you might find that random you're looking for or if you certainly care about price. I myself was asked to leave or carry my service animal and was told they don't allow "pets" I think it's fair to say that a service animal is yes a pet but also a huge need for the disability community as well. It's clear I cannot carry my service animal throughout the store while I shop and as I told them service animal they did not follow the correct procedure for this and will be contacting the ALCU and hopefully they can get educated about it. So I'm giving this business a huge thumbs down due to there lack of understanding and failure to comply with regulations in Oregon as a business in a prominent city of Oregon

Even the produce and fruit area looked clean and fresh. They have an organic section. Lots of great product displays like a cheese and charcuterie arrangement, wine and bubbles, baked treats, and seasonal decor are just some examples. The have really nice greeting cards for just $1.99 each. When it comes to "bargain" prices, meaning less expensive than a big box grocery store, it's hit or miss. Some items are clearly a bargain - huge bag of cotton balls for 99 cents (for make-up removal); a cheese ball covered in sliced almonds for $1.99; a 32 oz container of Galbani ricotta cheese for $4.99 were all good deals - while the majority of items were of equal price and some even more expensive. Lots of local cider, beer, and wine plus national brands. Know your prices because while there are often really good deals, there are also times when they list the regular price and it's several dollars higher than reality. Out front was a beautiful fall display of pumpkins and bins of gourds for great prices. Inside, there was Christmas decor, ornaments and nutcrackers already for sale. Big parking lot and easy access in and off I-5 makes it convenient.

I buy a lot of bulk items for meal prep- things like oats, flour, beans, rice, vegetables, etc. The prices here are awesome; in store, you'll pay about $2 a pound for oats (store brand) but here it's $1 for Bob's Red Mill organic oats. Same deal for other dry shelf goods- as someone getting into cheaper meal prepping, this really is the place to go for such deals. The store itself is very basic- concrete floors, high shelving, barebones customer service. It is meant for business customers but I come here for my house- they also carry industrial/commercial strength cleaners, kitchen equipment and janitorial supplies. They don't carry electronics, entertainment, prepackaged meals, clothing or anything else of that sort. I don't mind though- I just go elsewhere for those types of items. Depending on what you value, I'd say it is definitely worth coming to this store either as a business owner or individual.

However, they did have some kind of odd blinky holiday lights that made annoying noises throughout my visit. I toured each aisle and there wasn't anything to my liking but I can see where a new Asian restaurant could completing outfit their establishment with everything they need. After glancing at Yelp photos, the 20 % off Yelp check in caught my eye, and the funny t-shirts, the ones on their profile pic. I asked my personal Uber driver ( my other half) to take me. You will not miss this place, there is a huge business sign and parking is available on both sides of the lot. I don't know where to begin looking, the store is clutter but it is a good clutter. There are tons and tons of stuff. Its like a one stop shop, Things you need in Chinatown and the flea market combined together. I am pretty sure you will find something you don't need but actually need here. Just like my experience here. I had fun looking around, Lets see this shop is HUGE! There are sandals, shoes, clothing for mens, womens, children, tshirts, hats, make up, hair accessories, phone accessories, even blankets. If you can't find what you are looking for, ask the owner, she is super friendly. I recall her name is Long. I had fun talking to her and she helped me find what I was looking for. As I mentioned I found 2 items that I didn't need but needed. I saw 2 hats , I didn't think I needed it but bought it for my mom and good friend. ( they both love hats!) I came to shop not looking for hats and not needing it but then I am so glad I bought them because my mom and good friend loved the hats. I also bought those funny saying shirts to give away as souvenirs. They are pretty funny! I was able to use my 20 percent Yelp check in and I am so happy to discover a new place in Portland. I noticed the blankets are cheap, they are the really soft blankets which comes in different color, prints, and even comes with a bag. I remember those blankets, during my childhood days my mom used to buy that blanket for us and I remember they cost more than what Portland Closeout sells them for. I am going to buy a blanket next time I visit. After paying for my items, Long mentioned that her husband is at the store across. Note: Portland Closeout is in 2 separate shop. The store is in front where Long's husband manage has all household items for your kitchen, home and garden which includes furniture, plants, even paintings. This store does look clutter as well, but its a good clutter!! I noticed children's bicycles out in front. This store has EVERYTHING!! Overall, I love how I discovered this place and I enjoyed my shopping experience here. I will be back.
