The staff really make this location a good experience. Everyone is very friendly and helpful. Tony in particular is incredibly personable and genuine. I always look forward to a little banter on my visits. The business is generally clean and organized. Selection is not always great, but I know that sometimes this can be attributed to current supply shortages. Produce is fresh and well maintained. Meats, deli items and frozen goods are usually organized, fresh and in good condition. Prices are good to average. Over all, I would recommend this place for your personal or restaurant needs. read more

This place is great for getting good meats like pork baby back ribs, steak and vegetables. I can't eat out all the time. But when I decide to do some bbq'ing this is my go to place to get a 3 slab pack of baby back ribs for only about $25.00. The service staff there is top notch too. I own two barbecue pits, I write love notes to my wife with charcoal, I offer my son to add some flavor to his pancakes by hitting them with some hickory smoke. This is a very real addiction, but a semi-healthy one. So how does the modern day barbecue junky get his fix at a reasonable price? Cash & Carry, that is how. These guys carry the best cuts to barbecue from ribs to pork shoulders to briskets to tri-tip beef and even more than that. Every national holiday like July 4th, Labor Day or the Super Bowl you will find me here a day before picking up large chunks of meat to smoke, low and slow. Why here? The prices here are insanely low! Rock bottom, subterranean, lower than the Titanic, low. But is meat the only thing they carry here? Absolutely not! It's a smaller, saner version of Costco really. Canned goods (number 10 cans!), drinks, coffee (but no Keurig Cups), seasonings, candy, cleaning supplies and cooking supplies. Everything for restaurants basically but available to you with membership. If you have never come to see what they offer it is worth the trip to any of the Portland area stores. If you are a Southern California escapee like most of us then you knew this place as Smart & Final down there. Looking for bulk grocery items, make the US Foods Chef'Store one of your stops. I am of those people who do weekly meal preps for both my partner and me. Plus, I prep homemade dog food for my aging pup. Adding this store as one of my stops makes getting bulk meat and veggies more affordable and easy. Keep in mind, not the best one stop shop for all your grocery shopping needs as they tend to not everything in stock due to shipping cycles. SHOUT OUT TO DAN! ....I went in last week looking for whipped cream chargers, and an employee saw me looking around and asked how he could help. He then directed me to the register where the cashier could help me since the items are locked up. I was only waiting in line about a minute when two other customers got in line behind me. The same employee who helped me came up and opened another register. He was nice and cordial with the people he was helping and making quick conversation. As I walked up to the register, he asked me how many cases I needed, and got them. I appreciate the genuine customer service and GREAT attitude he had. I also work with a food delivery service, so I am encountering multiple businesses every day (all around Vancouver and Portland)...and good customer service is rare nowadays, so I just wanted to leave a compliment to DAN and say keep doing what you're doing! read more

I shop here regularly, at the location at 10611 NE 53rd St Vancouver, WA 98662. I came in with my wife at 5:45 p.m. tonight 1/12/2021 and only needed several cans of one product, so my visit was very short. When I came to the front of the store to check out, two cashiers were helping customers, their were two groups of customers at the two registers, four people all together, and not a single one of them wore a face covering. While I was waiting to check out, a fifth unmasked customer entered the store. I have never had any problems of any kind before this, but I take my health and COVID seriously, and I think they need to do a better job of asking customers to mask up. There is a large sign at the door outside as you come in, but that is not enough. Other businesses in the area are doing better, they can too. The cashier told me she didn't want to make a customer mad and that it was their choice. Really it is not their choice! read more

No clue if this is a problem since they just purchased this store. I went in with a list for 12 times, baggies, foil, Saran wrap, pancake mix, chai tea mix and more. All I found was chain tea, the shelves are empty, never had this problem before they changed names AGAIN. The checker was between rude and customer service . Are you looking for Torani syrup? This is the place to get it ....... an amazingly huge selection for less than $4 a bottle! This place is like Costco without the massive Chuck E Cheese crowd. Looking for a unique shopping experience? If you've never been to a Cash & Carry, you should add it to your list. Really a lot of fun for the average consumer. Places like Cash & Carry serve a vital role in business: they cater to restaurants, coffee houses, and other small businesses who don't have the buying power (i.e. minimum $500 orders, etc.) to bring in the big distributors (i.e. Food Services of America (FSA), Sysco, etc.). For the regular shopper, there are some can't misses though. For example, say you like those 2 oz packages of chips (i.e. Doritos, Frito-Lay, etc.). In most stores, you have to buy the mixed 12 pack, etc. At Cash & Carry, you can buy just one of this, one of that, for dirt cheap (~.40 cents). Sweet. Many scenarios of that ilk. This particular Cash & Carry is particularly clean (some of the urban PDX ones are cramped) and the crew is super friendly. Bored and looking for a cool shopping experience? I stopped in yesterday and was immediately greeted by friendly employees saying in unison, "good afternoon, let us know if there's anything we can help you find!" It immediately put a smile on my face, and all the shoppers in the store were laughing and smiling as the employees greeted everyone the same way (quite loudly and cheerfully)! I've always loved shopping here, but my trip yesterday really brightened up my day in an otherwise depressing time. In addition to the friendly employees, the aisle of coffee flavorings is my favorite thing about Smart Foodservice - you can find any flavor your heart desires without going to an expensive cafe! Also be sure to check out their Asian Food aisle, you can find bulk Top Ramen and Cup of Noodles and lots of different sauces - poke sauce, orange sauce, sambal, basically everything you'd order at an Asian restaurant, you can now cook at home!! read more

Always great fun to pick up coffee syrups (huge selection - many different brands) and bar supplies. I know I could make my own bar syrup but at $3.85 for a quart in an easy pour bottle - why not. I buy a case of Tri-Tip about once a year for less than $3.00 a pound, marinate it, vacuum pack and freeze it and I am set - it's awesome. I also buy their condiments and, since I have an extra refrigerator, I save a whole bunch on pickles, peppers, etc. Very helpful staff too. read more

Sweet grocery store! Gives Costco a run for their money. I buy a lot of sandwich supplies from here mostly, and I do buy produce here fairly often as well. I've always wanted to justify buying their cuts of pork and beef, but I already have a hookup for that elsewhere.
