This review is strictly on their ice cream. I was so happy that Costco decided to bring back the chocolate ice cream. It was a hot day and I decided to have a cup of vanilla and chocolate twist ice cream. It was so creamy and was just a perfect food to enjoy on a hot day. I have to admit that it was a bit too much for one person to finish but I managed :-) Shortly after eating this ice cream, I had a double scoops (vanilla and chocolate) of custard from the newly opened Shake Shack on 164th. When I went to get my new glasses at Visionworks, they said, even with 2 different insurance plans, my cost would be $310. So I decided to go back to Costco. I've been there a few times before and very happy!! With 1 insurance and them in network but not "preferred", the Versace glasses with all the bells and whistles, that are included at no extra charge, cost me $147. And they were so helpful. VSP insurance owns Visionworks so they give you more of a frame allowance but charge extra for everything else. Do yourself a favor and shop around!!! People with DEA needs should watch out here. Walked over today with my service dog in training. "Greeters" immediately said, "No dogs in here!" I started explaining I just walked over and don't have a car to put him in and I was about to further say that he is a service dog in training but they interrupted and BARKED that they serve food and no dogs allowed. NO inquiry if he is a service animal. Just rudeness and assumptions and MAKING ME FEEL UNWELCOME. (Hint, COSTCO, that should be your FIRST QUESTION before pushing people away.) I am not sure where the discussion would have gone had I attempted to explain our circumstance so I just left and had my son pick me up. Trainers did say that we may get varying results from places as we work on our socializing assignment (given that he is in training), but they didn't really prepare me for being treated so abruptly and rudely... at COSTCO of all places. I wish I could give a .5 star. 45 mins for a hot dog. Ridiculous. I could not wait any longer. I was the only person at the return counter and waited another 15 mins for anyone to come so I could get a refund for my hot dog order which I still didn't receive. I also had to return my frozen stuff because well 45 mins waiting for a hot dog, frozen food not frozen anymore. A guy finally came and returned my frozen food but couldn't return my money for the hot dog. So I had to wait another 10 mins for the jerk manager. I was shocked with her rudeness. Large and spacious Costco! We went on a Saturday afternoon, and there was shockingly no line at the checkout. There was so much space in the aisles, and it was nice to not worry about colliding with other carts or people. (Basically, the exact opposite of NYC Costcos.) There were lots of sample carts, but no pushing or shoving for samples, and all the people doing the demos were so friendly. We picked up a bunch of stuff that we can't get at home but wish we could, like smoked salmon stackers, Taiwanese squiggly noodles (been looking for those for over a year), chia pouches, and other snacks. Stopped here with the family after church when we were in Vancouver. My brother-in-law ordered 3 pizzas for us to take home. We wandered around for a little bit because I wanted to see what unique things they sell in Washington. I saw that they have Crumbl giftcards which are $79.99 for a $100 value. The customer service has always been top notch and the food court gets you a big bang for your buck. I think the worst part about shopping at Costco is the entitled group of customers. I only come here for the pharmacy, because I just don't understand Costco. People claim that there are amazing savings, but I don't see how it offsets the annual membership fee. Buying in bulk makes sense if you are preparing for the apocalypse like my parents are, but I think we're probably all going to be just fine. Even the TVs and other electronics I have found at better prices at Best Buy or other specialty electronics retailers. I just don't see the reason to shop here. I'd love for somebody to prove me wrong, but I just don't see how the math checks out. And there's something to be said about Costco culture and the cultists that worship it like a deity. Costco tire center here rocks. Left feedback on a comment card but my handwriting is terrible. All the staff at this Costco tire center are super nice and very helpful. I purchased a more expensive set then changed my mind wanting a little cheaper option. They helped me get a refund for the difference and buy the tires I wanted. They didn't try to talk me out of my decision just gave me all the information to make a choice. I appreciate when companies don't pressure you to buy the more expensive option. Very disappointed with Costco and employee. Spent over $300 but couldn't get the stick of butter because we thought the sign above the product said $8.39. Employee said it's ringing up at $11.99 and if we don't want to purchase it if could put it back because it's a cold product. Tried to explain to her the sign above says $8 something. The most useless membership system, I can't buy groceries until I buy a membership card. I just can't stand this system, it's just terrible.

I went to Costco today to get some things that I needed in bulk. We stood in line for about 20 minutes outside as they were only letting a few people in at a time. We appreciate this in this scary time of covid 19. The reason for my review is that of disappointment. Normally Costco has very good meets. I go there particularly for their filet mignon. I can get a small pack and it will feed my family. We love the tender juicy meat. However this time was not as pleasing. I purchased a four pack of filet mignon. They looked beautiful from the outside. Once I got them home and started to season them and turn them over, I noticed there was a lot of silver skin that I needed to cut off. Now you expect us on ribs sometimes or other lesser expensive pieces of meat. Not filet mignon. It should be nicely trimmed and ready to go onto the grill or into a hot pan. I could've gotten this from the QFC. Once trimmed and cooked they were tender and good. Should I need to cut all this off of a fillet. No. Sorry Costco. Why go to Portland when you can come here? As this Costco is situated well off the freeway, its typically less busy than others, even on the weekend. If you're like me and tend to go on a weekday evening, you can actually manage to get in and out of here in 15 minutes. The employees are all very pleasant and genuinely happy to help you find things. Once I saw something that I'd actually come to buy in someone else's cart at the checkout, and mentioned it to the cashier. The cashier scanned the other person's item, then had someone run and grab it for me off the shelves! The one downside to this location is that it is a bit smaller, so it may not have some items or the full selection that you may expect (for example, coke in glass bottles hasn't been carried at this location in years). read more

This.is.my.Costco, I've been shopping here since opening day. Even though I've since moved to the other side of town I travel to Camas Costco. The other location is a sh*t show no thanks. I've never been treated badly, employees go out of their way to be helpful, and the return policy is exemplary. You can't find that kind of customer service anywhere else. In this Covid time the food court: in the beginning I avoided getting a quick hotdog or pizza slice because I didn't want or order from the kiosk, I thought it was dumb. But now, I find it's faster than the old way and I hope it stays this way. My time is worth money, less waiting. My executive membership may or may not, pay for itself year to year depending on my needs, I'm OK with that. It's better than dealing with Walmart trying to save a few pennies. Again, no thanks. In 2018 I bought 4 tires for my 2004 truck with 28,000 miles on it. In 2024 my truck approaching 33,000 miles I took my truck in to rotate the tires. I was called back and told one tire had a nail best described as a small finishing nail inside the tread but not in the steel belted area. They explained they could not repair the tire because the small nail was in the sidewall area (even though it was inside the treads), they also explained the road hazard coverage was only for five years thus my tires were no longer covered, and they would not rotate the tires because of the liability issue. The tire could not be replace because it was no longer being manufactured. Their only remedy was to sell me 4 more tires at a cost of over $1,000. I took my truck to Les Schwab, they fixed the tire and rotated the tires at no cost. It is best said that one may find tires cheaper at Costco but it may not be in your best interest. read more

Our family goes to Costco to shop at least once or even twice a week and this Costco is by far our favorite. This location is the best in Vancouver. Always parking, less busy (even on the weekends) and easy access to the gas station. The employees are pretty great as we have a cashier named Tom that we enjoy chit chatting with who is always at the very end, near the bathrooms. Before COVID, he would always whip out a box full stickers for our kiddos and proudly admit he cut them personally! My husband likes another employee who wears Hawaiian shirts and tells Dad jokes when he packs your items. If you shop here frequently, you know who I'm talking about and let me know his name, OK? Order your food via Kiosk instead of in line ordering at the food court. Way easier and faster! Pharmacy is alright. Pharmacists are nice, but pharmacy techs need to work on customer service. Not very warm. The layout of the store is easy to navigate through compared to the main Portland PDX and Clackamas locations. We would only consider going to the Portland locations if we buy big items via no sales tax. Items to get as these are our go to at the moment: 1) Chicken Street Taco pack with salsa and crema de Fresca with cilantro. The crema is what got us and they even sell the sauce on its own! It's that good. 2) Honolulu Cookie Company mini chocolate chip cookies. If you have ever flown in Hawaii Airlines, these are the cookies they hand out and they have stores all over the islands that have different flavors so if you like shortbread cookies, these are a must! 3) The white bean chicken chili soup. Has a little kick and you can eat it plain and/or with tortilla chips. I add cheese and it's so good and hearty. 4) The rotisserie chicken! 5) The cheese pizza in dedication to my kiddos who always compare their pizza to any other pizza they eat. Side note: The BEST purchase we have ever made are their Kirkland signature brand sweatshirts. I bought the white for my husband and the grey for myself. They didn't have any in store where ever we looked. Luckily they had some online and was grateful that I purchased when I did because they completely sold out of them. I'll insert our matching sweatshirts in photos soon. Can you tell we just love Costco?!? We actually compare all the Costcos we go to the Costco up in Issaquah, WA since that was our home store for quite sometime. It was directly across the main headquarters of the company. Parking was horrific, it was always busy, and getting to the gas station was odd - the turn could be easily missed. IMO the only benefit was that we had close friends who worked at corporate that offered us to come to lunch with them to have the amazing Costco options at their cafeteria. read more

Ken in the tire center is awesome! The weather was incredible this weekend and coming out of a cold month I noticed that all four of my tires were 5 psi over manufactured recommended of 40 psi. I pulled up to the tire center and talked with Ken about it. He took care of it right away. I tried to tip him $5.00 but he refused to accept it and said Costco takes care of him. Ken was polite, well spoken and had a great presence that made me feel assured. So, I sure hope Costco is taking care of him. He is definitely an asset. Oh boy! Me and my family love shopping at Costco! This is primarily the only place we fuel our vehicles, as its far superior in quality. Unfortunately, today I went to pick-up contact lens and was treated very badly by Jeff J. He would not explain how long the lens would last for my prescription dependent on my options. It was extremely difficult to work with him. I'm really disappointed. I always choose to come here, and though I will come back in a couple months for more contacts I will be requesting to work with someone else to avoid another low key argument to figure out which of the two options fit my needs better. We have also started our tire shopping at Discount Tire instead. Jen at guest services is fantastic, we love working with her! She's a gem. I always send my son in to get simple things like milk with my card but this Costco it's a damn crime for my son to come in for me! Yet I've had no issues at any other Costco EVER! You want food at the food court be prepared to get it 1 item at a time and not all at once! I want my food to all be hot not different temperatures!!! You ask if you can just wait until all of the food is ready at the same time and they give you a damn attitude!!! Let's not forget that they only have maybe 8 carts for handicapped people so 9 times out of 10 someone with disabilities cannot shop there because there are no carts available... This is Costco there should be more than 8 carts! Then when you ask for a cart or choose to wait for a cart when one comes it's gone in 5 seconds and they're like oh I'm sorry we can't help..... This Costco is a waste of time and money don't bother coming here the only thing good about this Costco is the gas station which is really sad! read more

This is specifically about the pharmacy. Do you want the worst possible customer service? Come here. Pharmacy is open until 8:30 on weeknights. I can at 8:15 and they said there was no way that I could get a flu shot because it was "too late". Called the next morning before coming back to ensure I could get a shot for me and my kid. Told now that Costco doesn't do shots under 18. Neither the person working the pharmacy desk nor the pharmacist thought that was worth telling me the night before. Came in for my shot. Waited through a huge line to then be told I had to fill out paperwork and go to the prescription drop off line. Did that. Then told it's a 30 minute wait. Mind you, this is 3 pm on a Friday, so not prime Costco time. Needless to say, I won't be frequenting this pharmacy in the future. I am incredibly disappointed with the customer service and terrible communication. The rest of the store is pretty typical Costco and is not reflective of this rating. read more

This our regular location, I tried to check it out on a Tuesday morning at 8:00AM during the "old folks" hours. I pulled in a couple of minutes after 8:00AM but there were already a couple of hundred cars in the parking lot, quite a few with Oregon license plates. There was a line of people, some with carts, some without, that went from the door through the cart area and then the whole length of the south side of the building. Some people were being conscious of the 6' social distancing requirements and some were not. I decided to leave but then gave it 15 minutes to see if the line moved. It did, but when I got out of the car and approached the entrance so many people were converging with me, apparently oblivious to the idea of maintaining a healthy distance, that I decided it wasn't safe and left. I know they aren't responsible for the people outside and I have heard that they're doing a good job inside. They need to do something about the approach to make it safe. UPDATE: Since I wrote my initial review the situation has changed, and all of my previous concerns have been addressed. The signage and means of entry are now extended out to where you see them as you approach, they have effective barricades set up to keep the lines from meeting, they have cart handle cleaners, and clear direction on social distancing. They are limiting the total number of people in the store, and monitoring the social distancing in line. The store is well stocked with everything except hand sanitizer and sterile wipes, TP stacked to the ceiling. More traffic controllers for the checkout lines, sneeze barriers between you and the cashiers, they don't touch your card, they scan it, and after you use the stylus to enter your card information they wipe down the machine. I was impressed by how well organized they are now, and the relatively short wait to get in and out. Well done! read more

My boyfriend and I went to get the standard membership, thinking it would take 20 minutes at most and we could do the rest of our errands that day! We were originally helped by an older lady, she was very informative. Then a big, probably drunk guy in a button up gives us the same sales pitch the lady did for the 120$ membership, for 45 MINUTES. They insisted they did not make commission off of it, however im sure if they get enough people to sign up they will receive a bonus. I saw right through the act, and got increasingly more annoyed while he had me change my password 3 times for the app lmaooo. We did not change our minds at all during the hour long sign up process. My advice, do not let the big drunk guy help you, honestly be rude its what he deserves lol. read more

Even as the virus begins to subside due to mass vaccinations Costco's militant mask policy of no exemptions for medical reasons remains intact. When I explained I have a medical condition making it difficult to maintain my oxygen levels to a costco employee who asked me to put my mask above my nose I was told with no compassion at all that I could leave and use door dash or some other delivery service. Great Interstate Car Battery Resource. So many reasons to love Costco. Service is excellent at all locations, the deals can't be beat. Recently my car battery died. I called my old auto mechanic (in another state) to get advice so I can get an optimal deal & product. The advice was: be sure to get an "Interstate" or "ACDelco" battery. It's consider superior, great warranty, usually last much longer. After expecting a minimum of $250 to $350 ordeal, I was thrilled to find out Costco carries Interstate, whooo hooo. To be honest I wanted to rate this store as a 2 star; however I did eventually get my question answered. When we entered the store we were greeted by the staff member who was courteous; as we made our way through the store we encountered unfriendly staff. The staff members who specifically stand out were customer service staff members. I went to the counter to inquire about an item and at least 3 staff members noticed me waiting in line but no one asked to help me they all just picked a returned item and placed it on the shelf and continued to talk among themselves. The second time around again they noticed me but continued to talk among themselves at which tine I just approached the counter to be waited on. I will most likely go to another location from now on. :( read more

This Costco isn't very busy at all, which makes it a joy to shop at! Carts are readily available, parking was fine and the food court is inside which makes it a lot more hygienic for eating indoors instead of outdoors like other Costco's. However my only gripe is that the food court only had ONE cashier open even when there was a line of at least 6 people. read more
