We came here as suggested by a family member. She loves it here. Us.... not so much. Natural Grocers has many awesome products. One of the best Coconut Oil selections I've ever seen. That was cool. Having really just started using Coconut Oil and we've discovered some strange stuff. Not all Organic Coconut Oil is great. In fact, some are gross! My Wife really likes the Cosmetic Selections here. She has sensitive skin and takes care of herself. Some items are hard to find locally. Natural Grocers has some of those items. She was happy. Im guessing that by the length of time we spent in the Cosmetic Section. lol. She's adorable when she shops. Plus, I like looking at strange stuff. I.E The Cosmetic Selection at Natural Grocers. I didn't really see a lot I would travel the distance from my home to shop here for. The prices for what I would personally use are a bit high here. There are three other chain stores closer to my home. So I personally don't have a need here. My Wife though. She'll more than likely be shopping here on occasion. I did like the Produce Section. Especially for the smaller broken produce. I was about to make Kimchi and needed Daikon Radish. Not wanting to buy the usual two pound roots I see. The first time I went to a Natural Grocers was in New Mexico. I loved it. I was glad to see one in Gresham. As soon as I walk in the door, the smell of herbs and fresh produce fill the air. It's that "I'm in a Organic grocery store" smell. Great products and decent prices.Its not as big as a Whole foods or a New Seasons, but I think it's just the right size for all your organic needs. Nice produce section. Vegetarian and gluten free options. Organic dairy and meat products. Salsas, chips, breads, soups and more. I love the bulk food section in the back of the store. Also, plenty of vitamins, suppliments and health care products like shampoos and organic makeup. My favorites are the Kombucha root beers, organic cheesecake and Falafels to go. This is a dangerous store for me to shop in. I could spend a lot of $$ here. I've never had a problem with customer service. Always friendly. Their prices range from expensive to very expensive, and one can get many of the items somewhere else. However, they do have many unique items that are hard to find anywhere else. EXTRA CLEAN. Clean carts & conveyer each time! I like shopping here. All produce is organic. Everything is organic or non-gmo. & their prices for those seem reasonable. Also always clean & people working there are nice & helpful. & especially impressed in this Covid-19 time of shopping. They have their carts segregated & they clean each cart & put it in the clean area just inside the door. All workers were wearing masks as I was. & then for checkout after the person in front of me, she sprayed & wiped the conveyer! Then since I bring my own bags they had me bag my own stuff which was easy & I was glad to do. read more

Wait.. here in Gresham? Really? And, what? Reasonably priced even? And, say again? Items that you cannot just find anywhere but here specifically. Good quality items, healthy options, and priced for the blue collar community to boot. I'm thinking someone's got this town figured out finally. Gresham is the 2nd largest city in the state and they are treated like 2nd class citizens. It happens to also be filled with very colorful people and that includes people that care about eating well. Yes it's loaded with old malls which is where Natural Grocers is located. And it works! I walked each aisle to see what was on the shelves and was pleasantly surprised over and over. I took many pictures with my camera to share this with others on yelp. I am hoping that this store succeeds so that other similar places might be encouraged to move in to the area and stay. Just make sure you don't overprice yourselves out of the community. PS - Bring your own bags as they don't use plastic or paper. You can buy a really cool bag for .99 though. read more

I just came back from my first visit to Natural Grocers on their opening day and I found it hard to contain my excitement as I explored aisle by aisle and found everything that I could possibly want all in one grocery store - In Gresham! No longer will I need to drive for 20-30 minutes to go to a New Seasons or a Whole Foods to get a special hard to find brand of mock meat or organic hair product. It's all right here, and for less than what I'd spend at either of those stores anyway! They also had a lot of free samples, including a mini bottle of enzyme tablets, whey protein, etc. And I got a free shopping bag and a $10 off coupon (in honor of their grand opening week). Also, where else can you get kombucha for $1.99? I know it's on sale right now, but even on sale, the lowest I've ever seen it for was $2.49. Their produce section was relatively small, but it was 100% organic, so in that sense, it's equal in size or greater than the average organic produce section in a grocery store. The prices were slightly more than its non organic counterparts (what you might find at another store) but cheaper than its organic counterpart at say, Whole Foods. Their hours are essentially from 9-8pm Mon - Sat and 10-7pm on Sundays although technically they advertise being open a few minutes before that and a few minutes after that as to maximize your shopping time so even at closing time, you are welcomed into their store. Now that's a nice friendly concept! Hmm.. any negatives? The only thing that I thought was a bit strange was their pre - bagged bulk section. When I go through a bulk section, I like to be able to measure out everything myself instead of having it pre-measured. It's usually not the right amount I wanted, and if I wanted something pre-bagged, I wouldn't buy it from the bulk section. It was also a little hard to navigate, but I wasn't looking to buy any "bulk" this time around on my shopping trip anyway. Perhaps in the future I will see some positive to this unconventional way of bulking items. All in all, a great experience and a wonderful addition to the Gresham area! I think and hope that Natural Grocers will do well here. It was sad to hear that Whole Foods used to exist here but had to close down because it wasn't getting much business from the Greshamites. Now that this place exists, I know that I will be frequenting the store and hope that my other neighbors will continue to do so as well. read more

This store has probably the most extensive selection of supplements I've ever seen.....in fact it's more of a supplement store then a grocery store. Protein powder-they have entire row of it!!!! They have sections for digestion, sleep, heart health, joint health, multi-vitamins, and just about anything else you can think of. About 1/2 the store is devoted to this. Also a nice refrigerated area that you can purchase probiotics and other items that do better chilled. The staff will happily assist you in choices. I now have a new multivitamin that is vegetable based and doesn't make me nauseous. Also have great selection of bulk nuts, flour, and other baking and nutritional add ins. The food here is good quality and organic. But if you need a reason to shop here it's for the supplements. If you want a grocery store with a big selection of organic food I feel that New Seasons is better. But the prices for organic are good here and they have enough for a dinner. FYI: meat and cheese selection here leaves a little to be desired. read more

This place is kind of strange. In theory, it houses products such as organic produce, natural health and beauty items, freezer items etc., but I had a very difficult time finding what I needed. I searched for a couple supplements in a popular brand, and only found a 90 or 120 count. I don't need that much! Plus, I cannot afford to make that kind of a purchase, anyhow! So, a couple strike outs there. When searching for Megaflora probiotics, I could not find them here. During my 'search' there were not employees standing about to simply ask a question or two. There are no soda products like Coca-Cola, or Pepsi, so that's a huge perk! No deli means a quiet place to shop - no one bringing in kids for lunch. Soooo nice. But, something was really off. I sought a very specific essential oil, and had no one to ask about that, either! So strike out # 3. There are cameras directly above the folks working at the register, which is a bit extreme. When I made a purchase, and elected for a return, the woman working was very no-hassle. She accepted the return and it was applied to my card. It took literally a minute. No why? why? So easy! I don't shop here enough to know the overall culture, but it just still rubs me the wrong way -the 'vibe' of this store. read more

If New Seasons and Grocery Outlet got frisky one night and became parents, this would be their genius baby. The prices on probiotic supplements here are amazing. Kefir averages $5 cheaper than Whole Foods, and Garden of Life probiotic products are even cheaper than Vitacost. And their member reward program for supplements is OFF THE HOOK. If you're into strength training but appalled by the amount of sugar, corn additives, and other weird garbage in traditional protein powders, you can get bone broth protein powder here for a great price. At a recent bacon sale (is there any more beautiful combination of words than "bacon sale"?), I purchased almost 140oz. of high-quality bacon for under $40. They apparently carry every flavor of Theo chocolate and Boulder potato chips known to man, and offer pastured eggs for as low as $4/dozen (if you're not familiar with pricing for pastured eggs, whether in a supermarket or a farmer's market, that is a RIDICULOUSLY good deal). The produce section is entirely organic and you can get about-to-go-bad-but-still-good produce for cheap - recently picked up a bag with 10 organic limes for $2. Pro tip: if you see something like that, you can juice them all yourself once you get home and store the juice in the fridge. The prices on Dr. Bronner's soaps are better here than most other stores in Portland, and they have a wide selection of personal care items from conscientious manufacturers. I could go on and on. My only gripe, and it is fairly minor, is checkout. I have never been here when the checkout stands are fully-staffed. But it's lame to rank awesome stores poorly just because the lines may take a while. Support this place, and bring your patience and gratitude with you. :) read more

I don't understand the reviews that say this place lacks customer service. Every time I've asked for a product they've literally walked me right to it every single time. And most of the time it was in the middle of them stocking. I've even asked stupid questions (let's face it, customers are sometimes straight up IDIOTS) and they we're still so kind to answer it for me. I never expect anyone to always walk me to the thing I'm looking for, I've got a brain & two legs that can comprehend simple directions in a smaller store. I swear of these reviews are from people that get offended easily! The produce is indeed fresh. The other reviewer on here must be blind or something. I do wish they had a larger selection of produce but they truly do have the basics & slightly more. They've got a lovely bulk section, vegan products, frozen section. They do lack choice of fresh meats but, again, they do have the basics. If you're looking for a certain vitamin, this is the place! HUGE vitamin section. Also, a great little book section in the back corner! Their selection of natural beauty products, shampoos etc is real nice. In the very back they have a huge kitchen where they host free cooking classes!! I've yet to attend one of their free events--they host a great selection of them! I'll be honest. I absolutely did not like this store when it first opened. They had just opened up & didn't have much product. A few years later I pop in to give it another chance & I came out a changed woman! I've always wanted a Trader Joe's in east county but now I'm thinking why?! Natural Grocers is waaaay better than TJ. I really want to like this location. It's so close to my house. I love the company. But every time I'm at this location the employees give off a stuck up vibe. I've even seen employees sass off to other customers. It's unfortunate because it's a really cool place to shop. Customer service should be number one, and the attitudes are really unnecessary. This store is out of this world. It is simply put, whole foods with winco prices! But with a laidback, family vibe. Alot of my favorite brands I found for sometimes as much as 2 or 3 dollars less...for example daiya vegan cheese, which is usually 6.49 at new seasons was 3.49 there! They have such an amazing abundant selection of everything you could possibly want, snack foods, frozen goodies, amazing produce, vegan toiletries, even pet food and treats! The produce looks amazing, fresh and local. I found a loaf of sour dough bread I really wanted to try. Then I got to check out. The ONLY register open had an issue with a customer. Four employees were working on the issue. They finally opened a second register. I moved to that line (4 people ahead of me) and was waiting my turn. The problem customer finally moved on but since I was next in line I stayed put. The lady ahead of me picked up an item she had put aside anticipating she wouldn't have enough money. Turns out she didn't. She first said to return the item, then decided to go to her car and get more money. During this time another employee opened another register and checked out a coworker then promptly shut down. I ran out of patience at that point and walked out of the store. I like supporting local stores, but the customer service was so bad I won't be going back. read more

I love love love Natural Grocers! So many cool things to browse thru with a great selection of unique items you won't find in a typical grocery store. We don't have a New Seasons, Trader Jo's or Whole Foods in Gresham so this is a real treat when you don't want to drive across town. Prices do vary and yes some things can be a bit more expensive, however I see items that are commonly carried at New Seasons a lot less expensive here. And finally, customer service might be a bit lacking but who cares! Seriously every staff person I've encountered has been friendly enough! I love that I have a local place to get lots of the same brands I'd drive 30+ minutes to get at While Foods or New Seasons. The prices are often even better. (Not always though.) The loyalty card program is a nice perk that the other don't offer, too. Some of the cashiers are not very friendly and the produce tends to go bad really quickly (points for it all being organic though) so only buy what you need in the next couple of days. read more

Today you get one star, I am here outside waiting for you to open at 8:30 am as it states online when I mapped the location , it clearly said open every day 8:30am Now I walk up and on the door it says 9am on Sundays.
