Unfortunately, that wasn't the case. The cashier came across as rude and disengaged, which immediately made the interaction uncomfortable. On top of that, there didn't seem to be much care taken when bagging my items. For example, I purchased a hot rotisserie chicken for dinner, and it was placed at the very bottom of the bag -- underneath other groceries. The heat from the container actually melted my cookies. It was disappointing because I chose to go through a cashier hoping for better service. I understand everyone has off days, but a little friendliness and attention to how groceries are packed would have made a big difference.

Back then they had a really good produce market next door which later moved to 82nd, but at the time you could not beat the one-two pairing in the Portland area. As GO expanded with new locations, better one came online. By comparison, this one is small, the variety is limited, and the deals aren't that good. The workers are friendly. I drop in every couple years and it never improves. They are also catering to Gresham area residents, with a lot of Chinese bric-a-brac I would rather not see. If I lived next to it I'd continue to go, it is still good.

They did mention US foods as being another big one and you might be thinking of why am I giving it five stars if that's the case? Well, here it is if I'm buying the same stuff that I'm enjoying at restaurants at a fraction of the cost of being able to eat it at home what a game changer. It all started long ago, and I realized that nobody made their gyro fresh. I saw the box googled it, saw that US foods carried it, and then realized they carried the bread. the sauce and everything. Fast forward I'm eating some of these restaurants that I was paying way too much for at home and having the kids and family would be happy. Sometimes you just need 50 pound bags of flour. Sometimes you need things that you don't want shipped sometimes I need a gallon of my favorite soy sauce because I'm a creature of habit and this is my go to place for that. So next time you're thinking wow that item looks a lot like something I've gotten at a restaurant recently. It just might be that same item so you might want to pick it up and save yourself the trouble. Then you can continue to look for unique authentic places to spend your money to enjoy local flavors and artisan craftsmanship and not just reheated bulk that you can buy at a great establishment like this.
