KS Market For some…read morereason UPS has now added random package pickup locations at other non-UPS businesses. The businesses are paid a fee to have packages stored there. When I arrived I didn't know this and expected to see a UPS location but instead I stumbled upon the local neighborhood's dirty/shady convenience store. The owner (I presume it was the owner considering his loyalty to the business) asked for my license and then started to walk over and look for my package as a customer walked in. He then stopped and went to help them instead of me, still holding onto my ID and leaving the package slip that I had brought on the counter. After he finished with two customers (both of which that came in after me) he came back to help me. In the middle of his store there is a low squarish counter with a few openings to enter the area. This is where the packages are stored. Easily accessible to anyone that wants to grab and go. The whole process, from taking my ID and keeping it while he helped other customers first (that came in after me), to pretty much every single thing after that was very unprofessional. He kept asking me questions like "What did you buy?" or "How big is the package?" but not in a polite way, more in a I'm too lazy to look through 10 boxes and I'm annoyed that you're here way. After quickly looking through the small pile of boxes he said he couldn't find it. I had already called UPS (is there anything more obnoxious to do on the phone?) and looked online and it said the package was in fact here. When I asked him what to do since he couldn't find it he shrugged and said ask UPS. Well I had already done that so that didn't help. Regardless of the question this man knew the answer to none of them. It was quite obvious that not only did UPS do an awful job training this man, they also chose a man that could care less about his responsibility in the matter. The owner was short with me but also appeared completely clueless. Considering his manner and attitude so far I for some reason felt like asking him how much UPS paid him to store our boxes/lose them (didn't mention the latter part of course). In response he yelled at me that it was none of my business. (I looked it up later and online it said it was less than 1$ per package, far less than it's worth to deal with me, but what helps the business is the increased foot traffic.) I then said, "Well what the f-ck do I do about this because I called and looked online and they said it was here." I've been around long enough to know he was "running game." Either he was lying or was too stupid, but when I said "f-ck" he yelled at me to watch my language in his store and then told me to leave. I told him that I'm not leaving until he gives me my package. I knew if I left I'd spend forever on the phone only to come back here to pick it up. The packages were out where everyone could see them so I asked him if I could look at the addresses real quick to make sure. He said something implying that I thought he was stupid and I told him at this point that I wasn't convinced that he could actually read. He yelled at me a third time (this time I actually deserved it). During this time and in between the yelling, other customers would come in and he would help them instead of me. Luckily I was there at the perfect moment. An employee of his came in for her shift and saw how upset he was and took over. She immediately found my package as it was the biggest package there. As she did the paperwork and checked my ID I stared at the man the whole time but he wouldn't look at me, even as I exited. I over-politely thanked them and left. I don't know who's bright idea it was at UPS to make losing packages ten times more likely (by sending them to crummy stores with imbecile employers who yell at you and refuse to get your package), but I'm sure they got a raise...

Would have given you a higher rating but whoever the guy working the counter was a completely rude…read moreeven after I asked to talk with Sam or Melisa.

I am extremely disappointed with the level of service and empathy shown by the owner. As a mother…read moreof a two-month-old, having my diaper bag stolen -- with my wallet inside -- was already incredibly stressful. I came prepared with the exact time, transaction amount, card number, and a detailed description to make it as easy as possible to review the footage. I was hopeful that the owner would be willing to check just ten minutes of video to help us. I waited four days out of consideration after she mentioned having children of her own. When I followed up, I was simply told that nothing was seen on the footage. I thanked her and politely asked if I could receive a copy of the video for a police report. At that point, I was informed that the footage had already been deleted, though she was unable to tell me how long recordings are kept before being erased. What is most frustrating is that if the footage is only stored for a limited time, that should have been communicated sooner. Instead, I was met with yelling and told to "just report it" because she "didn't care." I truly hope no other customer has to experience this kind of treatment.
