Apple fritter, Cherry fritter, bear claw, chocolate sprinkles, and two twirls

The doughnut craving hit again, this time Winchell's was the choice. I'll start off by saying, next time we want doughnuts THIS will be the move. The doughnuts were delicious, you could tell they were very well made and at a very decent price for what we got. The chocolate glazed had a nice crunch to it that held up even when we went back to the box for an afternoon nibble. Don't let the front fool you, it's a choice spot for your next breakfast both on the run or to bring home for the family. We will be back again!

10/13/23- This is the first place where the 3 star score is because I'm really torn on how to rate them. This is because our food experience was so opposite ends of the spectrum. The sandwiches were horrible (totally 1 star food level). Not only were they basically made out of lunch meat, there was very little on them, and they were soggy. The donuts on the other hand were great. Like the cherry fritter I had was one of the best pastries I've ever had. I will say in some of my posts that your experience is based off what you order, and here it is totally true. Don't waste your time with any of the food here except the donuts.

This is my neighborhood donut shop. I have gone here for years. Despite its humble furnishings and appearance, it is a diamond. The quality of their donuts and coffee is only surpassed by the consistently high level of service and friendliness. I encourage everyone to stop in and experience it for themselves.

I found this place recently on Groupon and let me tell you, I have been pleasantly surprised! I walked in the other day, not expecting much. I mean, coming from Orlando, a lot of doughnut shops just come standard with all the frills. Probably have to in order to attract all of the tourists and keep up with the competition, but this place isn't like that. No frills, but great doughnuts! Light and airy! Best part!? A Winchell's dozen is 14 doughnuts, not 12!

Dozen = 14 donuts

Delicious donuts and fritters. The blueberry fritter is the best. Bavarian cream long John's are great too!

Second time ordering food and it has been wrong each time. Staff is extremely rude, especially the cook. Won't be returning.

We decided to try it today on a whim and even though it was packed at around 11:30 , we were able to get seating on the patio right away. We were even able to bring the dog and sit with him out back. Our server Angie was great, she gave us all her recommendations and mentioned all the top dishes. I started with a strawberry Matcha, it was absolutely perfect. Just the right ratio inside. To eat, we went with the brunch burger and steakhouse breakfast since that was what she recommended, but after finding out I wasn't able to change the temperature that the steak gets cooked (it gets premade at the beginning of the day) I shifted to the braised, short rib, grilled cheese. It was really good, the meat inside was cooked perfectly, and the cheeses were so flavorful and dynamic, perfectly melting, and I asked for a side of their chipotle aïoli, and it just complimented it perfectly. We decided to try the fruit compote French toast slice and the toppings were so good, not too sweet but the slice of challah itself was so thick that it was a bit undercooked, and felt more like warm bread than a crispy French toast. Angie was so sweet and instantly offered to remake or remove it when we let her know. I took forever to decide what I wanted because everything on this menu sounds incredible, and I can't wait to come back and try more!!

We also gave their cinnamon roll a shot, and were very pleased with the gooey, deliciousness of this baked good! I tried the chilaquiles for my main entree and was pleasantly impressed. I did order my eggs sunny side up, and well, they tried but they came out a little over cooked-no biggie though. Our server was very nice and kept tabs on us frequently throughout our meal- this was very much appreciated!

Lots of breakfast items and the food was actually decent but again overpriced. Our server was very nice but did not clear off our table at all. I tried to make a reservation for 7 the day before we visited the restaurant and they told me they only do reservations for four. Said I should expect about a 30 min wait for the group size and time we were wanting to be sat. Got there 30 mins prior to when we wanted to sit and the hostess told me it would be 45-60 mins and that there were several reservations ahead of me including another 7 top and if the reservation came in our table would keep getting bumped. This was VERY annoying. Our table ended up being ready in 30 mins which was nice but the conversation with the hostess to start then seemed ridiculously unnecessary. There is little waiting space inside and a makeshift host "area." I won't be back.

My Southern Benedict had school-lunch-style "chicken" tenders on it instead of real breast meat. The eggs are not cooked to order, those are very clearly pre-boiled eggs (Pssst, Early Bird, Boiled is NOT the same as Poached!). The biscuits were not biscuits at all, I think it was an English muffin, but either way, it was microwaved to the point it couldn't be picked up, the bread just crumbles around. Couldn't even finish this mess of a meal and had to leave with most of it untouched. My husband's burrito was bad as well. He took maybe 3 bites before we just left.
