So one day while I was making my way around , I passed by a Tim Horton's and decided to give it a try. Since then I have eaten at or from Tim Hortons at least 5-6 times since moving up here. This one is located in Lima, OH almost an hour from where I live. I usually eat here if I make a shopping trip into Lima either to have a meals, a snack to keep me going, or to take a box of donuts home with me. It's conveniently located to stores I frequent in Lima. It should also be noted, that it also doubles up as a Coldstone Creamery, which is pretty versatile if you think about it. Still I would love to give it a better rating than 3 stars, it's just that my experiences here run the range from great to terrible. I have received both good service here and really bad service. I once had a time where I was given a box of donuts with seemingly random choices and with donuts I did not order and like... something I did not find until I got home. I will also say that I am not thrilled with the donuts either... although they sometimes come up with some cool innovative ones (Oreo cookie donut, Fruit loops donut), I prefer the taste of Dunkin. Their iced coffee, though, heavenly! One of the best I ever consumed anywhere. Definitely worth buying! I also do prefer their breakfast sandwiches to Dunkin. But, they are only slightly better. All except for one, I had the first time I came. They had a limited time breakfast sandwich which was a maple waffle breakfast sandwich, omg! The Met is a unique building downtown Lima. It was built in the late 1880's and was originally home to the The Metropolitan Bank. It has since been morphed into a restaurant with very attractive original features. The wood floors and plaster ceilings...along with the attractive decor really enhance the dinning experience! The team here is very friendly, professional and welcoming. Ashley was outstanding. She hustled, knew her menu and had great recommendations. The Met has a large food menu that has something for everyone. They have a large selection of beverages and specialty cocktails. All at reasonable prices. We started with a couple of Mule drinks. One was a designer St. Patrick's Day Mule and their specialty Met Mule. Both were very tasty, cool and refreshing . We started with the Focaccia bread appetizer. It had a lightly golden/chewing top with a soft and moist inside. Liz said that they make the bread fresh three times a day. The bread had a slight olive oil taste with a mild amount of Italian herbs. The soft whipped butter was a nice add. The side salad had lots of fresh spring greens. There was a few tasty tomatoes and lots of stronger tasting onions. The thin Parmesan cheese shreds were an excellent touch. The house ranch dressing was very smooth/light/creamy moderately thin with a mild ranch taste. My wife had the chicken bacon ranch flatbread. The crust was thin and crispy. She really liked the ranch house made sauce and how it accented the meat toppings. I had the Met Meatloaf which had an outstanding meat flavor.
