Harry talked us through all the details of the materials and workmanship that goes into a great long-lasting roof and gave us a primer on how to compare roofing bids. Jaime inspected our old roof and explained his observations on the current condition, no major leaks but slow seeping typical of a roof at the very end of its useful life. They turned around a detailed quote very quickly and encouraged us to take our time to shop around and get in touch when we were ready. We got bids from about 6 different companies and these guys had the best value. What was different? The quote had attention to every detail and included higher quality materials, better design and superior workmanship. Also the quality of the service was exceptional- communication with the team and among the team was flawless. Our roof was mainly asphalt with a PVC section and needed plywood to be added on top of the old ship lap. It also needed venting - which can be tricky- especially providing intakes on a 1940s house. All this was included in the quote. They had no problem adding 2 skylights with no upcharge-save the cost of the skylights themselves. The team is up to date and educated on the latest advances and details of techniques. I am so thankful to have found Three Tree. I have worked with contractors extensively on two old properties over 20 years, and Three Tree was probably the best. Prior to hiring them I talked with my former roofer - who now only does very high end work(John Michael Roofing). He has seen many roofs and said Three Tree does good quality work. Mike quoted both to repair and to replace, and we got an honest opinion that replacing was better given the age and possibility for more leaks. We also went with them because their quote was competitive and we liked the Certainteed Presidential TL product they offered. Their crew showed up on time on the agreed upon day and quickly removed the old roof and installed the new one. We love the look of the Presidential TL, it adds an elegance to our house that stands out compared to our neighbors, and we've received many compliments. My only suggestion to Cornerstone is to improve their communication. For example, it was forecast to rain most of the week before our install. Rather than me calling to ask if our install was still on schedule, it would have been nice to get a proactive call from them assuring us of that fact. Also, the install crew was very nice and professional, but on the 2nd day after they were done they just disappeared without a word. I would have appreciated a knock on the door to say they're done and that another guy would stop by next week to do the final cleanup and touch-ups (instead I called to ask if they were truly done and why there were still nails and debris in our yard). Personally I think over-communication to the customer would be preferred with a project of this size.

The roof was installed after our home inspection was completed but before we moved in. When we moved in we noticed nail pops and a few nails poking through in various rooms upstairs. Our inspector didn't report these which he had on a home inspection on another house so we knew that they had to have occurred after the new roof installation. We also noticed some shingles curling up on one edge of the house. I called Bill and he was willing to work with us on getting the issues resolved. Jimmy not only addressed the skylight issues, he is the one and only contractor who noticed "squish" under our metal roof, indicating water damage to the wood below. His team was professional, prompt, and the communication was excellent. One of our skylights required a custom fit, so his crew came out to water proof it until the glass came in.
