Decided to give wimpys diner a try for the first time through skipthedishes. The 10 ounce Tex Mex burger was filled with flavor. It wasn't the best looking burger but it was really filling. I only managed to eat a single fry after finishing the burger. Definitely plan to buy from them again read more

Wimpy's Diner - 10 ounce Tex Mex burger - Diners Near Me - Brampton, Ontario

See all

Wimpy's has been around for years but seeing as I am not a huge breakfast guy ive never been. Went one Friday for brunch and my eyes went straight to the burger. 10oz burgers who in their right minds would pass that up lol. The burger was an odd shape. Oval burger but round bun. Took me a few minutes to figure out how to eat it when the burger arrived at the table. After thinking about it for a few minutes i just cut off the ends of the burger and turned it into a regular burger. The burger was super tasty topping were fresh, perfect amount of cheese and bacon. Fries were crispy and golden brown. Although this may not be my first choice to go and have a burger but I will come back to Wimpy's. read more

Wimpy's Diner - Weird shaped but great tasting burger - Diners Near Me - Brampton, Ontario

Foods great and it comes very quick. My husband and I have never had complaints about the food. You do have to get there early or there will occasionally be a line - especially weekend mornings! They do try to sneak in up sells (for example cheese in your eggs) without mentioning costs. But overall the waitresses are friendly, warm and they stay on top of refills. The decor is always great in wimpy's diners, they're entertaining, great convo starters and a lot of fun. read more

Ive been a regular breakfast customer at wimpys for years now. Lately Unfortunately the air system blows so cold and powerful it is impossible to enjoy the meal. My last two visits my food and coffee is cold in 5 minutes because the restaurant is so cold. I could over hear three other tables talking about how cold it was also. This needs to be looked into by the location owner read more

Always wanted to try this place cause I have heard good things and love the fact that it is based on the character from Popeye, a cartoon I used to love as a kid. We ventured out in the snow to this place last winter and i'm not sure it was worth the drive. I had the regular Wimpy's burger, which was absolutely huge. I did try the poutine with it and it was not too bad for both. I watched as they brought out other food for people and all of their portions were insanely big, and they were valuable priced considering the portion. Not sure that I'd be back. I went for the novelty, but the food wasn't that memorable. The staff were very friendly and welcoming. read more

I have eaten here once and would never go back. Had breakfast... The bacon was greasy, the potatoes were almost raw, and worst of all the coffee was COLD Would not recommend this restaurant read more

The food here is ok, typical diner food. However, on this occasion we witnessed the worst server ever!! She yelled at the cooks in front of the customers, once because they forgot to put cheese on a sandwich and once because someone's toast wasn't ready when she was ready to serve it! She complained loudly to the other server about the cooks and literally threw dishes and cutlery into the bins. She was simply angry all around and very unprofessional. I realize we all have bad days but her behaviour was unacceptable. read more

After eating here about 20 times over 3 years I would normally give it a 4 or sometimes a 5 star rating, while service is always very good the food today was horrible. Club sandwich had very dry turkey, hamburgers were over-cooked. read more

What an incredibly dishonest restaurant. We had placed an order through skip the dishes and had to cancel it within the first 5 minutes of placing the order. We had a family emergency that we had to deal with. This restaurant refused to cancel the order. No one was at my house to accept the order which they insisted upon sending, knowing that we would not be there to accept it. I called them to speak to them about being refunded for the order but they refused to refund the order and the manager Raj pretended that he was not in, as we called a second time and they claimed the manager was not available right now after telling me that the manager was off and at an 'event'... Skipped the dishes called and explained to the owner that we had a family emergency and we weren't able to be at the location to accept the order and they still refused to refund the order stating "foods made, what's the problem". Their staff was equally horrid when I called, the waitress could be heard over the phone speaking to each other and stated "She ordered the food, she should pay". I have ordered from this location 8-10 times, this was the first time we have ever had to cancel an order and we did so within 5 minutes of placing the order but they claimed that the meal was already cooked... lol ( there's never been a time when I sat in a Wimpy's restaurant that they started preparing my meal before a good 10 to 15 minutes in). I hope that it was worth losing a loyal customer over $38. Skip the dishes however was very understanding and offered us a max refund on their part, because they understood how unreasonable the restaurant was being. I would call them incredibly unethical and lacking any basic compassion for their customers. I caution you about their poor customer service and their food. Their food is equally disgusting, most of the time the pancakes are undercooked, the eggs are hard and every combo we have ever ordered from them has always been sent without a drink and they tend to claim that the 'driver' has forgotten it, but it's happened about 3 times... so we know who's actually forgetting it. We have also eaten there and I will say that their wait staff is incredibly rude to customers and disorganized, they are unable to take an order correctly, it's why we started ordering in rather than dining in. While they do fail at most breakfast foods, their Burger and club sandwich was actually fairly good, but this location is not worth dealing with anymore. read more

Two recent dinners were ruined because sauce placed on top of meal after specifically telling person on phone to place sauce on side (meal eaten over two days so when sauce is placed on top, second half of meal ruined as it gets soggy). Owner supposed to call back (did not), email to Wimpy's HO also did not recieve a follow-up. 2020 ruined this franchise as well it seems, too bad. Not returning, and don't recommend. read more

Another chain of restaurants with a 50's diner theme, this place serves frozen, mass produced (for wimpy's at least) oval burgers on round buns. Cooked to "burnt beyond recognition" status, and seasoned with everything in the spice rack, the patty is horrible. Because of the odd shape, your first bites are gross dry meat only...If that isn't bad enough, when you get into the actual burger area, the diced tomatoes and soggy diced lettuce will make you want to flip tables. After several visits to this location over the last several months... Consistent: Exceptionally friendly and prompt service. Very good food, and it is prepared fast and served hot. Awesome soups. Huge, quality burgers. Daily specials are a good deal. Haven't tried any desserts because the meals have always been huge. Highly recommend this restaurant location. read more

My daughter and I went today, I had the Wimpy omelette and she had the classic breakfast. I have to say, we loved it. The food was served quickly and was piping hot. The servings were large and the service was great, very friendly and helpful. We will definitely be going back again. read more

The food always tastes great and is served within minutes of ordering. Has a great atmosphere, emphasizing the diner experience. It also has a great combination of breakfast and dinner at any time, the perfect settler for any argument. read more

So we came in to wimpys and were waiting for 30mins before anyone cleared the table, finally a group of white people came in and they rushed to the door to great them and asked which table they'd like.... So I called the girl and asked her if maybe our brown /black color had anything to do with us waiting half an hour but not the other folks. Oh they were sorry and didn't notice us waiting there they said read more

Disgusting place. Dirty floors. Do they ever clean this place? It's right by a gas station, car wash, mechanic shop. This place looks like its going to close up. Their breakfast is below average. Maybe their burgers are good, but definitely not their breakfast. read more

My go to place for breakfast now. The service is very friendly and fast. Love the classic breakfast with poached eggs and the potatoes. Will go back to try other things on the menu for sure. read more

My mom and I frequently visit Wimpy's because we usually have a great experience and good food. This time however, was less than satisfying. Our server was very friendly and accommodating even though she did forget to bring us some items. The other server on the other hand was EXTREMELY unprofessional and rude to her coworkers. She yelled at them multiple times (even through an open door), started talking under her breath about how mad they make her (obviously she wasn't quiet enough because I heard her), complaining to the other server about the kitchen staff, tossing dishes and cutlery around the bussing bins.. I ordered the ultimate club and it was very dry. Pretty sure they only had one or two cooks on for 10 tables.. and when I used their washroom I had to flush the toilet 5 times.. not a great experience. Only giving two stars because the other times we've been here we enjoyed it and our server was pleasant. read more

I absolutely love this place! The food is great and the service is top notch. They staff take the time to remember my name and order...you really get that home feeling when you dine here. I recommend the southwest eggs Benedict and pretty much everything else on the menu. I will caution you on going to the other Wimpy's located at Tobram and Queen Street in Brampton. The food is not on the same level as the one at this location. I really think it might be helpful that cook to consult the cook - Lal and owner - Raj at the hurontario location. Anyways, give it a try, you won't regret it! read more

3 eggs over-easy, a hamburger steak and home fries is what I had and I was very happy with the food and friendly service. I will go back to try other items on the menu. read more
