I told her, repeatedly, do NOT attempt repair if she wasn't positive about matching the color. Said she would call with any issues. I picked up today and couldn't believe it. The repair is several shades darker than the rest of the shoe. I asked why she didn't call first. She just kept telling me it was okay. It's far from okay. The tip of the big toe is silly looking. She ruined my expensive shoes. I'll never go back. After 20+ years of trusting them with shoes and dry cleaning, I'm done. They have a wonderful selection of hides and skins at decent prices. I needed leather to replace some on a coffee table that had been destroyed by a carelessly-deposited pumpkin. I found the perfect piece. Then I went back because I'm going to cover an antique (late 19th century) trunk with leather. It was formerly covered in canvas, which can get filthy. I bought a side of navy that should do nicely. I wish that I made clothes, or purses, because some of the leather and suede, in turquoise, rose, and deep black, were just GORGEOUS. But I don't. They carry all kinds of textured leather, as well, and occasionally have exotic skins. They also have rugs made from full skins. They do not cut pieces of leather. So you might luck out finding a piece suitable for your needs, or end up with a lot of leftover leather. But they have several sizes available, which is a plus. I bought a double shoulder for the coffee table and a side for the trunk. I need to come up with other things to cover with leather.Or maybe just sell the leftovers. The quality is wonderful. There are various grades of leather, priced accordingly. The staff here is exceedingly helpful and knowledgeable.
