After personally being a customer for 20+ years I have never been treated so poorly as even going as far as embarrassing me infront of other customers. Over a $38.00 transaction by the owners daughter who was obnoxiously rude. Even as far as to scribble void across my personal check then had the audacity to tell me "I guess you better go to your bank and get cash." There is a woman who works here-not in the owner's family- who is very mean and makes me feel attacked and harassed every time I go in. I don't know her name, but she is pale with light brown curly hair, kind of short. She is very abrupt and rude, and cares more about correcting you and being right, then helping you or providing any sort of friendly customer service. She literally will not help you unless you know the exact name of something. I have felt very belittled by her just because I described something, rather than asking for it by name. A bully for sure. Often when I have walked in I generally want to just walk out bc she is there. She has even harassed me, chasing me through the store asking "what do you need" when I was clearly still shopping. Like, leave me alone and let me shop!! Ugh. I like it when I deal with the owners or their daughter, but they have GOT to get rid of this woman! Also the guys who load hay and feed Gary and Edgar are great! read more

When our family decided to raise chickens, the fine folks at Wilson's Feed helped us every step of the way. The are an incredible resource, have all of the supplies necessary to get a little flock started, but at the same time, encouraged us to have fun with the process! They have very reasonable prices, have been able to answer every crazy chicken question I've been able to throw at them, and they even load your purchases into your car for you. After I paid for three bags of bedding pellets the woman who helped me called for those to be carried out. She told me to wait at my car that my purchase would be put in a moment. I went out and waited. And waited. It was clear no one was on their way with my purchase. I went back in to ask how long it would be and was seriously contemplating asking for a refund. The woman was talking to a friend at the counter. A personal conversation about significant others and target parking lot and other stuff that just seemed awkward to interrupt. I was relieved when a man asked me what I needed. I let him know I was waiting for my bedding pellets. He left the counter before I was done talking to check on my purchase. I went back outside. Shortly the same man came out with one bag of bedding pellets. I had paid for three. He put it in my car and told me to have a nice day. That's when I replied that I needed two more bags. His response reminded me of a petulant child being told to do chores before going to play with friends. "You didn't tell me there were three!" Yeah, well, never again. So much for the great customer service I've read about. read more

We were in town for the weekend and forgot the dog collar and needed some food. I'm glad they had our brand Natural Balance. We were having a friendly chat with the cashier and when done she said they had our bag of dog food outside. When we got out to the parking lot the bag was already in our truck bed! My favorite store in Napa! This is a must-see for animal lovers. If you're in town visiting, and missing the farm, this is a good place to go and get your fix. If you're a local, they have all you need for horses, goats, chickens, even dogs and cats, oh and rabbits! The people are very nice and helpful and the prices are fair. Being the only Feed Store in Town (at least that I am aware of), I went there to get some scratch for my chickens and was just walking around looking at what they had on the shelves and why not. When I was closer to the feed bags a young salesperson approached me and ask if I needed help. I answered that I was just browsing to see what they had as it was my first time at the store. He looked at me like I was going to steal something and asked me what kind of feed was I looking for. I answered that I was not sure and I was just looking around. Then he said: "I can tell you what we have". I answered: "Well, I just got 4 laying hens and I am not that familiar with the feeds". To that he answered: We do not have regular feed here. It is the expensive, good quality one. At that point, clearly, I was not welcome there. I left and I am getting my feed and other supplies at Rivertown in Petaluma. I will never set my feet again in this store read more

All about supporting the local business, but when I called to see if Wilson's feed carried a particular dog food; the older gentleman who picked up was extremely rude. Don't shop here for chicks, they do not know what they are doing. I asked for delaware chicks and they gave me a Brahma chicks not the same. And I called them up a few weeks later and got a guy on the phone and he said well what am I supposed to do about it. He was very rude to me. Please do not shop at the store. read more

I love this place! We went up there to get baby chicks for our backyard in San Francisco and I was so impressed by not only their wealth of knowledge but their willingness to share it. The young blond woman is fantastic. She knows her chickens and was so helpful. As novice chicken owners, we needed some guidance. They also get some of the more exotic breeds as well as the work horse layers. Our chicken collection is near complete thanks to these guys. read more

I grew up in napa in 81-84. Coming here reminds me of my roots. Ppl here are genuine and friendly, they try and help you out if you ask. Not mind readers, but genuine napans who help those who care for their customers. I love it that they dont cater for yelp reviews but represent the local community as they are. I think it's very sad to see poor reviews for Wilson's because they do a fantastic job and are very friendly and always professional. I have been coming here for several years and have found them to be wonderful in every aspect from the knowledge they possess and freely offer, fair pricing and customer service from counter to car. They have often given me extra products and even loaned out animal traps when I was in need. They remember me every time I walk in and they are always helpful. I am not sure how they do it, but their staff has your bulk item (chicken feed, dog food, bedding, or what ever) in your car by the time you are at your car! Amazing customer service. They are pricey, but if you own chickens this is the only option in town! And dont cut it close on closing hours! I came a few minutes BEFORE closing & they were already locked up tight & walking to their cars quite aware i was there & upset. I really like Wilson's because it's a family run place & they are very knowledgable. I get almost all of my supplies there. They know what they are doing, and have been doing it for years. I like looking at all the stuff on the bulletin boards, too. It's a great resource for finding equipment & pets that need new homes. I always walk out of there with a million other things I didn't realize I HAD to have. The guys load up my car & always have a good attitude. They remember you, and a very careful with your car & belongings. I have never had a problem (except maybe when i realize once I'm home that I can't lift those five 50lb bags of grain out of my car by myself!) and go to Wilson's every couple weeks. They have everything you need, and will answer any questions you have without any attitude. If you are a beginner, and have a lot of questions about feed/medications/supplies, don't hesitate to ask the staff. They are well informed. That being said, I have witnessed some people getting short-borderline rude answers from the staff behind the counter, but that was because the customer in question was either a.) totally rude & demanding or b.) talking on their cell phone like an idiot. C'mon people, this is a local feed store, not a mall. Treat everyone with respect & you will get it back. Saturdays are busy, so keep that in mind. This is my favorite store in town! They know all about animals so can answer lots of questions about care and feeding of livestock. They are very friendly and always helpful. The carryout guys are the best. I usually have a large feed order. By the time I have paid and start to walk to the parking lot, the guys have already finished loading my truck. They even remind me if I dont order something I usually get, to make sure I havent forgotten! Great service and a super family owned and run business. I have been buying products from Wilson's for the last 5 years or so. I have found the service to be outstanding and the quality of the feed and bird seed to be excellent. In addition, they are conscientious of time constraints. Sometimes i am only able to shoot over there during my lunch hour. My car is loaded before i step out of the store! I actually look forward to the smiles and conversation i am always greeted with. The personal feel to this family owned business can't be compromised by $2.00 I might save in price somewhere else. I come here at least once a month and it's always quick and easy. The guys know me now and have my trunk loaded with the feed before I've even left the store.
