The most horrible experience the vaccine starts at 3 pm on Sunday and l waited 2 hours because the staff came 25 minutes late and then one the staff checking in skipped us in line and she was gonna keep going until I said. I've been shopping at pet pub for 25 years. Today was not a good day. My son bought a bag of food. That I don't feed. I called and asked if I could return without a receipt. He said I could exchange, I was fine with they. I went to return it. I came in and waiting up front because no one was there. When she came back I said I was returning it to get the food I feed. I waited till she was free. She asked if I had a receipt. I said no. She grabbed the basket and pulled it away. I said wait this is mine! She continued to pull it away put it behind her and told me to go get the food I want. I asked her why she was being so rude. She said "sorry, but yeah" I said "but yeah, what"?? She said sorry. With a very rude tone. So i asked to talk to a manager. He came out. And he was acting strange to me too. Said they don't sell that food. But they do sell pro plan. I said i called he said I talked to him. And that I said a friend or someone bought it for me. I asked how to i find out where it was sold? Said I need to ask them where they got it. I said "i said my son said pet club. " I don't get why these people are rude for no reason at all!! That girl should not do a job she has to deal with people. Walked in, knowing where to find the cough medicine for dogs. Went over to that aisle looked out of stock, I didn't know if there was another section or possibly more in the back since my dog had kennel cough. I asked the kid who works there named Matthew. I said Hey, do you guys have another section for cough medicine for dogs or any more in the back? And he says to me "try that aisle." I told the kid oh I was already in that aisle. He looked at me and made a big loud sigh. Then he walked over to the aisle and I followed behind, eager to slap him in the back of head but I did not. He looked around and just said "guess we're out of it,"and then walks away... well no sh** sherlock. Very disappointed in Pet Club. We got another puppy 6 weeks ago. Shortly after getting her we bought a matching crate as we already had one for our boy. We noticed the box was taped but didn't pay any mind. Didn't try to put it together until today while she was at her spay appointment. What they sold us was missing pieces and important parts. We didn't save the receipt and it's well past 30 days so we made do and my husband managed to put it together dispite having a missing side door. Came here to get some vaccines for my kitten and they told me I had to bring him to the back IN THE BATHROOM to give him the shots and I was not allowed back there. After waiting for 1 1/2 hours!! I was not leaving my kitten, and I was told that it was not possible for me to fit in the bathroom, when I've been in there and it's a big bathroom. I was told the vet could look at his teeth and determine his age. When I asked the vet she said 1-2 years old! he is 5 months, goes to show they know tf there talking about. read more

Atrocious service. Went for feeder fish. New customer rep let's me know what fish they have although I can clearly see they are lacking in feeder guppies. Poor review today. I come here and spend at least $200 dollars every time. Today I spent close to $400. Their register was acting up. It charged me and the nice clerk told me I took my card out too fast. He credited my account. Then he charged my card again. But the receipt does not come out and it's not showing charged on their registers end. Now this other clerk approaches and calls corporate and they decide they want to charge me another almost $400, even though my bank account shows it came out of my account. I then call my bank. I find out I wasn't charged even though it's showing in my account that I was charged. I go to the next register and another nice lady rings me up. That whole time this other clerk watches the entire transaction and treats me as if I did something wrong here. The new checkout comes up approximately $1.83 short from what the malfunctioned register charged me. He says, out loudly, it's three something short and walks out from behind the register and all the other customers in line are staring at me as if I am trying to rip them off. He is looking at me as if this is my fault and as if he wants to re-ring it again a third time! I made a comment about this and he said: "just let her go." I then asked him why I am be treated this way like I did something wrong when your register malfunctioned? He said he knew it was their register but his attitude was like he was blaming me and now blaming me for the $1.83 difference after approximately a half hour wait. I feel like I was treated like a criminal while other customers watched as if I did something wrong here when I am standing there with two big carts of merchandise that I paid for and when their register was malfunctioning. All I have to say is poor customer service today on the "other clerk" who doesn't know how to treat a customer. read more

This review is strictly towards Sarah. I go this facility at least twice a month. I went in asking for help with soft food for my chihuahua mix who recently had teeth pulled. I saw someone walking up with a basket of items to check out so I told Sarah to take care of her and please come help me when she's done. After a little while I went to check and the customer was gone and Sarah was on her cell phone. I had to ask her again for help. Long story short, she didn't help me in choosing the right, or any soft food (she basically said it should all be the same (when the soft food specifically says for small adult dogs, no specific type, or senior dogs). I asked her what was the difference between adult dog or senior or unlabeled). I told her how old my dog was and the hard food I gave her prior to having teeth pulled and asked her which one would be equivalent. She actually said anyone one of them and walked away. You could tell she had no idea and then said she had a customer and needed to go back to the register. My thoughts, they are labeled different for a reason. I would have appreciated it if she said, let me get someone who can answer your questions. I picked out some food hoping it's the correct choice. I proceeded to pay and asked for her name, she knew I wasn't happy with her service. Her response was "sorry I didn't really help you much, and my response was, no you didn't ". Bottom line, totally disappointed with the way she handled things. If you don't know or don't want to be bothered, ask someone who knows or cares. read more

April's leash and collar were pretty much worn out so we thought it was time to replace them. We checked in at Pet Club and all dog shoppers must be on leash to enter the store. This place was huge! We wandered through several wide aisles of pallet racking then found the leash and collar section. They had a variety of sizes, styles and colors. After we explored our options we made up our mind. I grabbed a leash, a collar and a small dog harness all in matching red. Before we hit the register we stalled for a while in between aisles and tried to figure out how to properly install the harness. We asked for assistance and Sean came to the rescue. This young friendly fellow took like twenty seconds to put it on our April. The weird thing was April didn't bark and didn't mind at all which was unusual of her since by nature she's a loud mouth specially when it comes to meeting strangers. I guess she smelt that friendship and trust right from the get-go. In addition to a crapload of pet food and supplies, this store had live fish! But doggone it no credit card purchases allowed. Healthy adult dry food by Royal Cannin runs around $34 but they have it on sale sometimes for $27-29 so it's worth the look. Prices is comparable to other places but I like for those random finds & savings. Cat toys? Of course you have to spoil them. New things appear at home all the time, from a new scratch pad to "flying toys," this place has them. Employees are easy going. Helping when the question arises, and always giving treats to random dogs when the visit. Cat Adoption center towards the back! #adoptdontshop It is kitty season! Overall, a good place for your pet. Great place to get pet supplies!! I like coming here more than other mainstream pet supply store because of the variety AND the prices. Very large selection of dog treats, food, shampoo, and housing for them although I do wish dog pillows and houses would be a slight cheaper. I often have to get cages and they start to rack up. However they do last a long time so I guess it works. It's also nice that I can bring my puppies with me and tote them around in the shopping cart. I would like it if the employees would be a slight more helpful and friendly. They barely say hello and you can barely find someone to ask a simple question sometime. They also rarely offer to "help" if you need to carry large items. Other than that, no complaints. Also, they do shots for pets! I love Pet Club! Their prices are good, and they seem to have a lot of products that you can't get at other pet stores. I took my dog Mochi to this location today to get her rabies shot. Every Sunday they have a low-cost vaccination clinic from 4:00pm-5:30pm. I paid $12.00 for the rabies shot, and it is good for 3 years, a much better deal than if I would have went to our regular vet. The vet that administered Mochi's shot was super nice too! Another thing I like about this store is that they have a pet I.D. tag machine. There are a few different tags to choose from, priced $5.99-$7.99, just make sure to purchase yours at the register first and then go to the machine. Got Mochi her bling-bling today too. read more

I've price compared (with Amazon, Petco, & PetSmart) and quite a few times PetClub has been cheaper. I love this place and I dont mind taking a trip from Vallejo. We have 4 dogs that all eat different food so it started getting expensive. Pet club allows you to buy wholesale prices and save money. The prices are consistent and sometimes you can luck out and get big bags on a truckload deal where you get even more off. I try to stock up once I'm here because you can find brands that you cant find elsewhere or at least this cheap. I go straight for the clearance section when I come here because I love a bargain. This PetClub is beautiful, clean and the staff are knowledgeable and friendly. I live closer to the Corte Madera Pet Club which is a filthy rat hole. I've shopped both stores and the Emeryville store. The Fairfield store is the winner by miles. I will be shopping there when ever I can and avoiding the Corte Madera store that is a literal and figurative rat hole. In comparison Fairfield's fish department was beautiful and bright. Corte Madera's had 1 tank where the fish were visible, the rest were too dirty to see the fish and full of dead fish. read more

Most recent experience (07/30/23); apparently the staff is a bunch of kids that can't be inconvenienced with putting up a sign to notify customers that the vet clinic was canceled for the day. In fact, they kept up a sign stating the clinic is available every Sunday (which in this case it wasn't). It's bad enough you have a bunch of pet parents taking their fluffy loved ones across town in 90+ degree weather, to trek across the hot pavement to only ask a disgruntled kid if the clinic was in fact in operation that day. Best part was, not all of the staff was on the same page and I had to ask 3 team members to receive the correct information. Posting this in hopes that the leadership team will get the memo..to notify customers via email or at least a sign on the sign () or the door so we don't need to waste time talking to a kid who feels like we are asking them a basic question about THEIR facility. Do yourselves a favor and don't count on an unreliable business to provide a care plan for your fluff. See an established vet instead. read more

I was feeling anxious because my dog had just had puppies and she didn't want to eat. I had the staff help me and I am very thankful for all their knowledge and help. I'd really like to give this place a better review because I love the prices and some of the employees are really nice and kind. I have a few problems with this place. The first problem is that ever since I began coming here many years ago, there was always this one female worker that's extremely rude for no reason.(I later came to find out she's one of the managers..) First time was when I went here to buy a goldfish and asked her if I could get a certain one. Once I asked, she shoved the net towards me and said "well if you want a certain one then you'll have to get it yourself," which made me extremely uncomfortable. Whenever I've gone to this location in the past and asked the same female worker questions, she would answer me rudely and abruptly, sometimes even sending me home frustrated and crying. The breaking point for me was once when I came in to return a fish and she pretty much refused to return the fish that died within 2 days because I didn't realize I needed to bring in a water sample. After telling her I had other fish in a bag in my car that I was returning that were alive and she could test that water, she refused. I met with the male manager of the store who's much nicer but I still just can't understand why this other manager lady is allowed to keep working here and treating customers so horribly. I'll keep coming here for the hard to beat prices but I hope to never see that ***** ever again. I should also mention that you should never ever buy aquatic animals here. Never have I ever bought a fish that didn't either die within a day or was so sick that it infected all my other tanks. Went to exchange a doggie gift today that I couldn't find the receipt for. The young man, Jimmy, who was helping us said that he didn't know what the manager would do without a receipt. One thing I wanted to exchange was more expensive than what I was exchanging for. When the manager came, she said that because I didn't have a receipt that I could find something else in the store to spend the extra, as I would not be getting cash. I said ok, and I was told, "TODAY". Ok, we are going to find something. The attitude was really poured on by the manager, but I wasn't being mad or mouthy, so I wasn't sure why I was being treated like that.
