I will not be shopping at Pet's corner much anymore - not because of anything they did, but because I just lost my wonderful yellow lab yesterday. I strongly encourage anyone reading this review to shop at Pet's corner for all of your pet needs. When I first went there 2 years ago, little did I know how special Jonathan is. What began as a convenient local store that I wanted to support turned into a friendship for us and a loving environment for my special dog, Sadie. Whenever we came by, Jonathon was ready for a treat for Sadie. Murphy, the resident Bernese, would welcome Sadie and hang out with her. When we wanted something in particular, Jonathan would get it for us. When Sadie began to have health issues, Jonathon would help with suggestions and advice that was always welcome and helpful. Many times when I was in the store I would hear Jonathon giving helpful advice to others for their pets - not only dogs, but cats, rabbits, and other types of animals. Jonathan would also watch Sadie on occasion when I traveled. He would take her for walks with Murphy and send us pictures every day. He would take Sadie to work with him and she would "work" at the store greeting people and letting the kids pet her. Numerous times when I was walking her in the area people would stop and ask if she was Sadie from Pet's Corner. As Sadie started having heart issues and had to start taking medications (and refused to eat Pill Pockets), Jonathon had suggestions for feeding her and giving her the needed medication. He even gave us samples of these frozen raw nuggets that he used for his dog and fed to Sadie when she was there. Everything he suggested worked - especially the raw food. When we learned that Sadie's time was going to be limited, Jonathan would occasionally ask if he could watch Sadie at the store so that he could spend some time with her. In fact when I stopped by with Sadie on Saturday to pick up some food, he asked if he could watch her for a few hours. Sadie had a wonderful afternoon at the store with Jonathan and Murphy, her boyfriend. Jonathan helped to keep Sadie happy right up until the end. He is a special person that loves animals and it shows in how he runs Pet's Corner and how he warmly treats his customers. I give Pet's Corner 5 stars and would rate them higher if I could.

The store was clean, well organized and had a lot of services available. There was the standard treats, toys, food and accessories, but there was also a self serve pet washing area, and a pet play area/ training area. Unfortunately, someone was training while we were there, but from what it looks like, when there isn't a training session you can let your dog into the area for a but. We ended up buying some treats and toys for our dog after walking around the store a couple times and letting him sniff around. The staff was friendly and it was a nice way to kill some time while we waited for an appointment.

Their written policy honors exchanging something your pet will not eat but they did not today. I…read morewont be returning. It's a great policy esp for those with finicky felines. I spend $70 each week on a senior hyperthyroid feline w pancreatitis for his treats/food/litter. Imagine what i was spending when i had 8 pets/fosters & an xl dog. The new middle aged clerk grey hair, baseball Cap, black rimmed glasses looked at me as if i was from Outer space when i asked if he could do the store credit of the cans. I found it rude and patronizing & won't be returning. I asked if am i supposed to put the left over food w added palatability (dehydrated chicken etc) back into can and hold for 7 days (or even policy states 30days) and they will accept the stinky food with no cover? I assumed it was cordial to rinse container out? Then he brought someone from back posing as manager "for 15 yrs" I was in the store 2 weeks ago w a friend and they did do this. But they chose gaslighting today. Not the right person and NOT ACCEPTABLE. I asked them to look at my phone number to see my weekly receipts. They didn't. I called the nice people at stonestown & they said we will take care of you. Mind you it was 3 containers about $7 exchange vs the $70+ I was at the counter to spend with supplies in cart. This is an illegal bait & switch.. you can not change policies overnight if it's written or bc a brand new clerk wasn't trained. it is going to BBB, google Ftc if they don't follow up. There are tons of shops & online is easier for me but if this is how they treat regular customers? I also have a long history at acc & shelters, local rescues & was a contractor for vet practices. I rescued and treated hundreds of animals & I ran a small pet biz for yrs... clients became friends and are still always asking for brands and where to shop for their pets. I serviced all socioeconomic backgrounds from wealthy to low income & elders. For many, the policy makes a difference. I am no longer comfortable sending these people to a store which gaslights and changes policies on a whim. i called stonestown to ask is it only their store and the manager said he will speak with them. corporate owned vet hospitals & the pet food industry are charging very high prices making pet ownership impossible for millions- this attitude today which I had not seen 2 weeks ago contributes to pet euthanasia crisis. I am making an issue about it bc i see the thousands of pets dumped and discarded for "lack of affordability". So they will need to follow up or I am escalating .

I'm find myself spending at least an hour in here because the staff love to show off their little critters and it's such a fun environment to be in. I've seen the store progress exponentially in the last 6 months. It's much cleaner and more organized every time I visit. The moment I walked in, the smell was overwhelmingly bad -- not your typical pet store scent, but something genuinely foul. The shelves were dirty and looked like they hadn't been cleaned or organized in a long time, which didn't inspire any confidence. The selection was really limited, and even basic items were hard to find. The employees also weren't very welcoming or friendly; no greeting, no offer to help, just an overall cold vibe. What bothered me most was how sad the animals looked. A few of them seemed stressed or lethargic, and it was honestly heartbreaking. I love supporting neighborhood businesses, especially ones that care for animals, but this place needs serious attention and improvement before I could ever consider coming back.

So they have this awesome special that if you buy three bags of pet food, you get the 4th FREE. AND, you can mix and match. That alone is not why I love it so much though. I like the variety (Well... my CATS like the variety), and the folks who work there are very knowledgeable about all things PETS. in my last trip I had a conversation with a team member about buying grass for my cats and I took their suggestion. I brought this little thing of grass and my cats went nuts. Just another thing to add to make my kitties happy. I've also gotten some tips on OTC stuff I can give me cats when they have some respiratory stuff happening (L-Lysine FYI) and it seemed to help! One of my girls has issues and doing great. They have a huge selection of Stella & Chewy as well. If you haven't purchased this for your dog or cat, you should. THEY love the stuff. The ONLY drawback, parking can be a challenge because everyone is going to Jolibee, it's still doable though, and I'm not taking any stars for that! Just the "quick" tip, GO THERE. Nice people, great selection, and the 4 for 3 deal is great. Plus your pets will appreciate you.
