We stopped by on a Thursday evening. An event we had in a nearby space was cancelled and Wilson's looked like a great place to check out. You order at the counter. Be sure and check out the beer list first. I had a hard time deciding. Went with the Amber and it was delicious. We both ordered the chicken (fried) sandwiches and we split the fries. They will text you when your order is ready. Lots of outdoor seating. We were excited to sit outside on a warm early March evening. Lots of furry friends out here on the patio. Food did not take too long. The chicken was super crispy. It was a delicious sandwich. Pimento cheese too !!! The fries were OK. Not the best and not the worst I have ever had. My absolute favorite menu item is their pork nachos. These nachos are piled high with fixings. Drizzled with LBC beer nacho cheese, smoked pulled pork, fresh jalapeños, cilantro lime crema, and black beans make this appetizer really shine. I got the veggie flatbread and it was nothing exciting- it needed something with flavor like basil or olives or banana peppers. I would have liked a few more veggie options on the menu- I'm not even a vegetarian but I don't care for pork and I wasn't in the mood for a burger or BLT. My husband liked his BLT and the fries were great. The ambiance is loud and a little crowded- like my chair was pressed against the guy behind me, even though there was a lot of floor space around us. His party was larger than mine and it was hard to hear my husband across the huge table from me because they were so loud. It's also not very well insulated. It was an unseasonably cold day and I was uncomfortably chilly. I can't imagine eating here in the winter. I do love that 5% of all food sales go to animal charities. We stopped into Wilson's a few weeks ago for lunch during COVID. I was impressed with the cleanliness, social distancing and mask wearing protocols in place. I had a hard time choosing, because there's not much what I want. However, I think it's a good place for a drink and to chat. If your priority is to chill and have a drink with a group of friends, this is a great option for you. If your priority is to have a meal, look elsewhere. First time at Wilson's Eatery and the Dock 1053 parking experience. Food at Wilson's was great-had the Southwestern Salad and the Fried chicken sandwich. While this is not a reflection on the restaurant-the parking at the center is horrible. It is all pay parking but the vendors can validate. The whole process is a pain trying to stand in the heat and scan the QR code. And the die to a typo, we did't get validated and the parking company will not correct it. I don't think we will friend any of the businesses there again as it was such a pain to deal with. read more

Looking on Yelp it looked good so we thought we would try it. Really glad we did, it's tied to a brewery and they share seating areas and a beer garden. When we walked up we sat down and we're not really sure what we were supposed to do. A nice guy who was bussing came by and told us that Wilson's was the food, you go in and order and they text you when it's ready. We went in and my son got a steak flatbread which he loved and I got the Carnitas Torta which was great. We split a Mac and cheese which was good but nothing to write home about. we got takeout of the BLT which my wife said was good but she found something on it to be a bit spicy. This new restaurant is right across the parking lot from Lynnwood Brewing Concern, so it's not part of the actual old warehouse. Parking can be a bit challenging, as the spots are small and not a ton of them, even around the other side of the warehouse. It would help if rude people wouldn't take up two spaces. Three of us went for a weekday lunch. We were greeted immediately with menus and told to order at the counter. Easy enough. They take your name and cellphone number to text when your order is ready. There is indoor and outdoor seating. Menu has salads, flatbreads, sandwiches, burgers, appetizers and sides. Everything is a la carte. One Gal had the Chicken Lettuce Wraps, which worked well as a light lunch. Other Gal had the Southern Fried Thigh Sandwich with Pimento Cheese on it, and a side of fries. The Sandwich looked huge, but she said a lot of that was breading. (didn't stop her from wolfing the whole thing down). Fries were very good (I know, because she shared), and were served with aioli for dipping. Mine took a bit longer than theirs to come out, which was surprising because I ordered two sides: the Broccoli Salad and the Beer Cheese Mac. They explained later that they had run out of the Mac and Cheese and had to make more. Loved the Broccoli Salad. It wasn't over dressed or too sweet like they can be. The Beer Cheese Mac is shells with a light cheese sauce. You can taste the beer, which is good, but could have used more seasoning and maybe a sprinkling of texture. I kicked it up with a little hot sauce and that did it. In addition to their house made sodas, they also have flavored sparkling water. Blood Orange and Blackberry. They let me try them both and I went with the orange one. Served cold, but with no ice. Two sides and the Orange Water were around $10. Staff is very attentive and a Manager even checked on us. You can tell they care. All three of us agreed we would happily go back, especially to check out the awesome looking burgers we kept seeing go by. read more

I was told, DO NOT COME INSIDE UNTIL YOU GET THE TEXT MESSAGE. She was quite rude about it, and the system didn't even work properly. The burger was just okay. Last weekend, my boyfriend and I decided that the weather was optimal for a relaxing picnic at Pullen Park. So naturally, we decided to order some take-out from Wilson's. Wilson's Eatery shares a large parking lot with LBC, so parking is usually a breeze unless they have some sort of event going on. When we arrived, they already had our food ready to go. Since we were going to picnic, we wanted to choose items that were handheld and easy to share so we went with a couple of sandwiches and an order of their pork nachos. The pork nachos were excellent. They come with braised pork, LBC beer cheese, black beans, house chips, pico, pickled jalapeño, and cilantro-lime crema. I don't even like beer cheese but everything went together so well. My advice, ask to add pickled red onions! Game changer. The two sandwiches we ordered were the Southern Fried, crispy chicken thigh, pimento cheese, lettuce and house pickles on a brioche bun, and the Carnitas Torta (I'm a sucker for a good torta) which came with braised pork, ham, avocado, black bean spread, cabbage, American cheese, tomato, house pickles, and Duke's mayo on a brioche bun. Everything we ordered was so GOOD but overall, I would definitely say that the carnitas torta was my favorite item we ordered. In hindsight, I wish we would have decided to stay and eat at one of their outdoor tables because the nachos got a little soggy at the bottom by the time we were situated at the park. Since LBC and Wilson's outdoor areas connected, it's an ideal spot to grab a beer and some food with friends while still being able to (for the most part) practice social distancing. Wilson's was the first place we went "out" to since moving to Raleigh in the midst of COVID, so maybe take this review with a grain of salt. I would give this place 3.75(ish) stars for atmosphere--if you like being a part of a larger crowd--and 3ish for food and beer. The food was average, at best. The beer mac was like boxed mac (yikes); the chicken sandwich was okay, not super flavorful, but not terrible; and the pork nachos were solid--lots of pork, cheese sauce was good, pico was fine. In addition to the so-so food, the beer also let me down. I don't know if they don't clean their taps often enough, or if their beer is usually weak, but sheesh. The stout was flat and flavorless, the porter tasted watered-down, the pineapple wheat captured the pineapple flavor well but had no bite or crispness... however, the back that razz up was refreshing and well-balanced (obviously, my favorite of the flight). My favoring thing about Wilson's / LBC is the autonomy. You order yourself, pick up your own food/drinks, and move around the space as you please. It's certainly a nice option if you feel like having a more casual experience (or, if you're like me, and want to be able to just get a beer without being pressured into also ordering food). I'll be back to try some of their house beers (my flight was all seasonal), and to give some other items on the menu a chance. read more

Finally tried Wilson's for the first time the other weekend after hearing so many great things about the food. Post-COVID, the order process was super easy, just walk in and order at the counter and they will hand you a pager. The place was clean and most people went back outside to wait. You can also order beers at Wilson's to avoid another stop at the tap room next door. I ordered the lettuce wraps with a side of broccoli salad. The Lettuce Wraps had great flavor and were loaded up with meat and toppings. I ate every last bit and didn't even have to feel too guilty. The Broccoli Salad was pretty good, but of course my friend's fries were way better :) I would recommend this place for the food and the beer any day, especially if you're looking for a casual outdoor spot. read more

We chose Wilson's Eatery for a post-holiday change-of-pace. I tried the Carnitas Torta. It wasn't bad, but it's a torta in name only; if you're expecting something along the lines of a torta served at taco trucks you'll be disappointed. My wife tried the Southern Fried and found it lacking. The chicken wasn't hot, the serving of chicken wasn't generous, and she thought it generally wasn't very good. Everything is a la carte, so we shared an order of fries. They were served warm, but they were definitely not hot and could have benefited from a couple of more minutes in the fryer. The employees definitely didn't seem to be in the mood for work or serving pesky customers. The order taker was lackadaisical at best; she kept her head propped up on one arm and one-handed our order into the POS system. I felt bad that we inconvenienced her with a few questions since we were first time customers. While we were waiting to receive our orders, I noticed some of the kitchen staff took plenty of time to stand around and chit chat. I was astounded to see one employee reach into some food bin with a bare hand, take something out, then nibble on it while he chatted with his peers. He did this repeatedly. Gross. The interior of the restaurant is going for the revitalized warehouse vibe, so hard and uneven surfaces is the order of the day. Wilson's Eatery takes counter service pretty seriously, so don't expect to see any employees come out behind the counter. You order at the counter, pick up your food from the counter when it's ready, then when you're done you clean your table and throw away your trash. We didn't even get a smile or a thank-you during our visit, much less going the tiniest bit out of the way to make sure everything was OK with our meal. Offering absolutely zero service doesn't stop Wilson's Eatery from hitting you up for a generous tip; they suggest a minimum 18% gratuity for doing nothing beyond the basics to run the restaurant. Wilson's Eatery is a great choice if your blood-alcohol content is above the legal limit from having one too many adult beverages at the adjoining Lynwood Brewing Concern, but that's about the only thing compelling going on here. read more

Spacious cafeteria feel with a bar. We got the fried chicken sandwich and three sides: broccoli salad, coleslaw and fries. The chicken was not one big patty- it was three different pieces, which made it hard to eat. The sandwich falls apart, and the meat (although very crispy) is hard to separate with bites. A generous amount of pickles in the sandwich, but they didn't have any flavor other than some vinegar. The sandwich also has a cheesiness to it. Fries were very generic and soft; coleslaw was vinegary and pretty good; broccoli was super crisp but the Mayo dressing was also just OK. My son and I stopped in a week ago for dinner. The eatery is affiliated with Lynnwood Brewing Concern, which by the way, is a great brewery that has a nice lineup of beers. The food here was really good, it was tasty, and the prices are reasonable. They have something on the menu for everyone from burgers to salads to flatbreads. Since my husband just moved here pretty much every restaurant is new to us. We've been disappointed several times but Wilson's is NOT one of those places. We had went to Trig furnishings to look for some pieces for our new place and were wandering around (check out Glas too) and decided we were hungry. Instead of getting in the car and driving somewhere we decided to check out Wilson's and I'm very glad we did. It was a Saturday around 1pm and it was raining. Not hard, but had been drizzling all morning so we were ready to get inside again and dry off. The menus are right inside the door and you order at the counter when you are ready. It was still time for brunch so we both ordered off the brunch menu. They also make sodas and sparkling waters in house so we ordered one of each. The cola was fantastic and I really enjoyed the blood orange water. Our entrees were also great. One was a flatbread and the other huevos ranchero which I WILL ALWAYS ORDER if it's an option. We picked this place for lunch because it was raining and they had a covered patio area (our dog was with us). The downside is that it is counter ordering so not the typical restaurant-server experience (which I was expecting so a little let down). But inside there is a bar and the food was quick to be prepared. I got the double cheeseburger and was pleasantly surprised - I'd give the burger a 7.9/10 (I'm a tough critic so that's pretty high). My group did decide to eat inside but spent some time in the sun in the patio beer garden. This whole area at Dock 23 is becoming one of my new favorite spaces to grab a bite or enjoy a drink. Today was my first time eating at Wilson's and I thought it was great. I got the nachos with pork as my meal and my husband got the burger. My sister got an amazing looking salad, so there are choices for whatever you're feeling; healthy or nacho-y. The nachos were different without being too different. Really just the right amount of meat, cheese, sauce of a cilantro variety, and pickled jalapeños I believe. I ordered an old fashioned to drink and admit when it came I was a bit concerned I just paid $12 for an Applebee's style drink (It was light with a maraschino cherry). First sip put me at ease, it was quite good. Actually nice for an early Sunday drink. As part of Lynnwood Brew they make their own sodas so I also got a rum and homemade cherry coke and it was really good. The seating inside consists of some high tops, low top and some bar seating. Outside there's lots of cute green booths and of course the patio beer garden. The kids that were with us really enjoyed that area as did the parents. As I experienced with nearby Hummingbird, there's a lot of parking here but it's also very popular so during peak times you may need to circle a bit, but it's certainly not off putting enough to slow me down from coming here. read more

AMAZING!!! This was a perfect go to this weekend after having drinks & good times next door at the LBC! We brought our dog for drinks & fun & found this to be a perfect spot. Great idea to have the outdoor tables so we can enjoy the beer garden with our fur babies & carry our drinks in between places. They also offer the LBC drinks here too which I love these drink names lol especially Back that Razz Up & Hop on Top! We started off our afternoon with lettuce wraps which are perfect for light snack while waiting on our main entrees. It comes with ginger chicken which taste amazing. For our main dish, I ordered the yummy pimento grilled cheese sandwich and my fiancé ordered the amazing Southern fried chicken sandwich and we split both to try both & they were both excellent! Loved the pimento cheese over the southern fried chicken sandwich. Our sides were the amazing Belgian French fries with a side of Garlic Aioli sauce and the Mac and cheese. Let's just say the Garlic Aioli sauce was life! That Garlic Aioli sauce is a beautiful addition to everything! Yes that good & the Mac and Cheese was life as well. I am very particular about my Mac & Cheese but this did not disappoint. I loved my peach strawberry frozen drink..I think it was either a daiquiri or margarita but whatever it was..it was good lol! First off the service was truly exceptional in all facets. There was prompt service and knowledgeable servers about the menu. The old saying is "you cannot have your cake and eat it too", well Wilson's allows you to have your beer and eat food too! It was my first visit to the area and to the establishment. I've always been really drawn to locations that add character and LBC and Wilson's really appeal to that. The prices were so affordable for such delicious food! Everything I had was fresh, hot, and scrumptious. The atmosphere was breathtaking and mesmerizing. You have to be a true stick in the mud if you do not like an outdoor seating area with a splash of modern optics. Ok I know I know you all want to know what I had to order right? Well I ordered the Southern Fried with a side of beer max and cheese(made to order) :). The chicken is a thigh that's lightly breaded with this amazing sauce! The chicken was cook perfectly and was well represented with the beer Mac and cheese. The shells were soft and cheesy! A bonus was my fiancé ordered the pimenta sandwich and it was the BOMB as well! Checked my trusty Yelp bookmark list for a nearby Sunday lunch spot when my first option was too crowded. Wilson's Eatery had been on my list of places to try for quite a while, and I'm so glad that I got a chance to check them out for a late lunch recently. I loved the causal, open atmosphere of the dining room, but they also have plenty of lovely outdoor tables when the weather is nice. We arrived around 2pm and were happy to find that only a few tables inside were taken along with several seats at the bar. I believe they have a brunch menu on Saturdays and Sundays, but we ordered a couple of items from their regular lunch menu - the pork nachos and the southern fried chicken sandwich. The nachos were incredibly flavorful! I especially loved the beer cheese, the tender pork, and the seasoned black beans. My husband devoured his southern fried chicken sandwich and we both enjoyed the fries and aioli that he got with it. Of course, they have a wonderful selection of draught beer. Had some amazing bar bites from Wilson's today while drinking on the deck at LBC. Unfortunately I didn't go inside so I can only comment on the food, but boy was it tasty! Lettuce wraps are perfect for a hot day and are a bit of a healthier option. Also tried a flatbread and the nachos, which are covered in crispy pork, pico and some type of crema. The Southern Fried is a chicken thigh deep fried and decadent. The beer cheese mac reminded us of Welsh rarebit and the ailoi was a lovely touch.
