    "Shrimp in chili sauce"
    C V.

Sorry, but no. It is unacceptable to open a new restaurant and serve this quality of food in Arlington. Pictured below is the "chili shrimp bowl," which seemed to consist of wholesale miniature frozen fried shrimp, miscellaneous raw vegetables, and some rice. I do not understand how any rational businessperson could open a new restaurant with the intention of serving this "food" as a profitable enterprise.

    Chicken quesadilla

Having dinner with my boyfriend before go to AMC for movie. We find this new restaurant across street from AMC , prices are reasonable. and have variety food. We try Black Chicken with Chipotle sauce and Chicken quesadilla. Both dishes turn out fresh and delicious. We will definitely drop by here again

Food is bland and tasteless. Atmosphere is not good either, lightening is like a dungeon. Service was fine. Probably not coming back.

Great service, well prices, and wide variety on the menu. Great lunch spot for those working in the area.

I first reached out to the restaurant directly by email because I wanted to give management the opportunity to address my concerns privately, but unfortunately, I never received a response. On 7/22/26 at 7:20pm The restaurant was busy, which I completely understand. The problem wasn't the wait--it was the way I was treated. The employee working the front, Leah, repeatedly helped customers who came in after me while I stood there waiting to place my order and later to pick it up. A simple acknowledgment, like "I'll be right with you," would have made all the difference. I've never been treated this way at Songbird before. Every other employee I've encountered has always been friendly and professional, which is why this stood out so much. I hope management takes the time to speak with this employee so that no other customer has the same experience. I'd like to continue supporting this neighborhood restaurant because the food is excellent, but if this is the level of service I can expect going forward, unfortunately, this will be my last visit.

To stay…read moreby the side of our elderly dog, we are foregoing the experience of dining out, more and more. After we finished eating, she remarked we needed to visit the restaurant sometime. We'll have to look for an opportunity when we are around the dog all day, so she can be on her own for a couple of hours, likely sleeping. Birdsong already is acclaimed. This is much more Thai and Thai American. Like Chinese or Italian cuisine before it, Thai flavors have assimilated to a palate not accustomed to the true strength of the spices. Birdsong is a remedy. They do not offer the pad thai that has become a staple, no longer exotic but to its detriment. (A digression. The history of pad thai, with contested origins, is fascinating. As you delve into these matters, you see how syncretic culture is. You also are exposed to the efforts to fashion a unifying mythology.) We ordered the chicken, the shrimp, the crab fried rice, the papaya salad, and the enhancement. The chicken and the shrimp were quality ingredients, prepared well. Although both proteins were fried, they felt clean. The crab fried rice was one option of many with the rice base. The papaya salad was fresh. The enhancement was radish with "fermented daikon, garlic, red onion, cilantro, palm sugar, and fish sauce scrambled with eggs for a balanced savory and sweet flavor," and the portion was generous: we put it on the rice, then I finished it off in an omelet the next morning. We have traveled to Bangkok. Thai spiciness exceeds what I would endorse, and I love hot dishes. Birdsong was much milder, though with sufficient pepperiness my wife, who does not share my preferences, remarked it was closer to her limit. They will work with you in this respect, and I'm confident I could request something that would test my capabilities. That is, in my book, all positive. The dishes that were mild according to the menu, were mild, but they were flavorful. If you do not like fish sauce, for example, you may not appreciate the offerings, which if they don't have fish sauce have something along those lines. I hope Birdsong fares well.

Unfortunately, my wife's first experience was the exception. On our last visit together, the service simply didn't deliver and we ended up leaving. After the manager reached out and encouraged us to give Joe's another chance, I convinced my wife to come back. I'm really glad we did. This time we brought our toddler and ordered the oysters, stone crab, king crab, and bone-in ribeye. Everything was excellent. More importantly, the service was back to the Joe's I've known for years. Our server Kimberly was wonderful, attentive, warm, and took great care of us. Ryan the manager also stopped by personally to apologize and make sure we were having a good experience. What made this visit especially satisfying was seeing my wife finally experience the level of hospitality I had been telling her about all these years. She walked away impressed, and so did I. Great seafood, a proper ribeye, and excellent hospitality. Thank you to Kimberly and the management team for turning things around. Looking forward to many more visits. Keep it up, guys!

I thought if I ordered fried shrimp that the quality would be better than a non seafood restaurant... Boy was I wrong! The shrimp were not deveined!!! It's like they didn't even clean them before applying the batter! I've been here on a date so I know how the lighting is dim... perfect setting to hide the wilted brown lettuce and moldy food... I just so happened to look under the cornbread muffin; SO GLAD I DID! I spent close to $40 for inedible food. Won't order from here again! The highlight was the salad dressing; that was tasty!

He was very informative and helpful with menu suggestions and entree selections. We had the shrimp scampi and ribs entrees, which I would recommend. Only in the bar area though. We ordered most of the happy hour menu because they just sounded so good and were priced so reasonably. The baby smash cheeseburger was gorgeous with a really good creamy sauce replacing the catch up with Louie dressing (their version of housemate is dressing ) and tartar sauce. And the perfect slice of pickle.. The buttermilk biscuit arrived warm with butter and seasonal blueberry House jam The mini spicy tuna wontons were like poke on wonton skins. We had the garlic black pepper wings which were a stunningly great surprise. Because the fresh garlic is minced and then you squeeze half lime over it and the juice is tangy and tart and sweet and flavorful all at the same time. They were out of the chicken taco but we had the white fish taco which was beautifully presented with sliced Julian radishes and small pieces of fresh mango and a kick worth feeling; the beer braze taco came properly smothered in cotilla cheese and cilantro.. We also decided we would need dessert. Most impressive was their grapefruit scratch soda which was incredibly refreshing with just a hint of honey. Not over sweet at all -- crisp refreshing and probably the best drink in the house. Don't skip it. Also ordered some cocktails. The farmer's daughter which is vodka paste with domain to Kenton and St. Germain, lime, passionfruit, raspberry and bitters. As well as the cucumber delight -- which was fresh and easy and came garnished with cucumber and cantaloupe. After all that despite the desire for dessert we were too full. Bartenders who served were GREAT. Roger was very helpful explaining content and ingredients, and jang made fantastic cocktails. Worth coming back too.
