Brought my dog to daycare today. I got a call at 9:27am that he was attacked. On the phone she told…read moreme they were playing and it got out of hand. Later when we went to pick him up the manager looked at the cameras she said my dog was in the corner and the other dog came up and attacked him. So she lied on the phone. I asked her if it was bad and I needed to pick him up. She said it was a little scratch. He sat in a crate the entire day. When we picked him up he has a gash that was bleeding and goosing everywhere. We brought him to the vet right away and he now has a staple in his nose, is on pain meds and antibiotics. He is so lethargic and nose is swollen. I am deeply disappointed with how they handled the situation and lied to us multiple times. Our dog has been snap to angry irritation lately. Our vet recommended classes. Dynamite came recommended not just by the vet but by friends. The rate was a few bucks but there were others with crazy higher rates. Our first class or 2 were good. Our dog does like a game and was so happy learning the commands via games and rewards. Our instructor recommended for social skills to maybe switch to 1/2 or full day visits. A doggie day school. We switched to that. It's been a couple weeks now and its been good. They work hard to train him. They post videos, many of which are on line before we even pick him up. It gives us the joy of seeing how much fun he is having. He is always looking so happy learning(and getting treats). I'm glad Dynamite Dog Training was recommended to us, its worked out well.

I took my dog Riley to meet with…read moreshay who recommended us to one of his trainers for in-home training on feb 4, I explained that my dog was very smart and obedient, but I wanted a safe way to get him used to other dogs because Riley freaks out every time we take him on a walk when he sees another dog. I felt the sessions the trainer provided us were kind of weak and basic, during the course of 5 months the office or the trainer canceled several times. I paid for 10 sessions and got 7 sessions all of which I was told were supposed to be 1-hour sessions but never got more than 45 mins total per session. I called a few weeks ago after no contact from their main office or trainer for a month asking what was going on and for a refund, but they haven't responded other than to know they don't offer refunds. I feel their main office and trainers do not do a good job of contacting you and my dog is still terribly scared of other dogs and has made little improvement.

My husband and I have two senior dogs (9 and 10 y/o) and a 10 month old cattle dog mix puppy named Freya. Our goal was to "tidy up the manners" of the older pups but also focus mainly on Freya as she was much harder to keep focused on a task and higher energy than even our border collie was as a puppy! She pulled HARD in her harness, couldn't sit still to learn commands without getting distracted, and barked when her canine sisters barked at anything. We also wanted to be sure that the older dogs' other bad habits weren't going to rub off on Freya too much. This was barking at doorbells/knocks/deliveries and also jumping up on whoever walked through the front door, both us and our friends. Heather's methods are so logical, effective, and easy to put into practice; two months after our sessions with her the training has stuck! Our friends comment on how good our pups are when they arrive, no longer barking excitedly and leaping up on them but quietly waiting with tails wagging for the ok to approach and receive attention. On walks with the prong collars that she recommended on, our two dogs that would pull no longer do as they receive a quick gentle tug on their collars otherwise. They've, all three, gotten so much better at not barking at other people we pass on our walks as well. Her prices for sessions are more than reasonable and well worth it! Thank you so much, Heather!

Jealous of Smokey, my cats and other pets. Smokey wasn't even trying to get on the couch anymore. Fights led to emergency vet visits. It was awful. After one session things got better. I learned how to control situations and not let it escalate. After a few more sessions, my two dogs and the cats get along now. My two dogs can eat side by side. But the real test was at the doggie park where Lillet was watching other dogs get treats and was calm. She was also fine when I gave her treats and other dogs wanted some too.
