12/4/2024 Hey Dana,…read more I'm making sure this comment is at the top. After reviewing ARF's 1 star reviews on google a lot of people have been discriminated by Dana Poore. I was discriminated for my roommate situation and others by their age or ethnicity. When I tried to adopt my kittens from Dana, I also had to use my "white female friend" and she easily passed the phone call interview she had with Dana. My friend also mentioned that she was her PE student at Carver Middle School in Delray. I can't believe we let this racist teach our kids back in the day. It's a small world, Dana. 7/28/2022. Hi Dana, I bought a house and my three cats that are living with me are very happy. The roommates didn't find the cats annoying. 11/10/2022. My three cats are still going strong. Just got them the Litter Robot 4 because i am a financially responsible cat owner. My cats go to a better bathroom than Dana. 10/02/2023 It has been a while, Dana. I want to let you know a stray cat has chosen me to be its owner. A few days later i found out the cat is pregnant! I am expecting the babies soon. I will be raising the kittens to about 14-16 weeks of age before I help them find their forever home. I have some potential adopters interested already and i will do a better job at screening these people than you did to me. Dana, if you need help with screening prospective adopters, let me know.

It's hard to rate anything as less than 5-star when you take a new loved one home…read more The Covid design needs help ... you choose pups from paper color pics in binder and they limit how many you can see per visit. Luckily we found our pup on our second choice. The cost is a mandatory 500 dollar donation that is non-refundable under any reason, including an ill or generic issue. That's high overall but not ridiculous like the pricing at places like Petsland. Puppies have all vaccines to date and ours was spaded also. You go home with a leach, bag of food, and a free puppy pack at a local groomer. (Very nice package, make sure to purchase some items there also to keep small businesses open). You will need to get some toys, bowls, and crate quickly. We already had most items and kids were excited to stop for others. We also got poopie bags, shampoo and collar. Remember flea protection and heat worm medicine too. Our puppy has adapted quickly to our home and loves her daily walks. They offer a vet at same Location and we may choose to go elsewhere as their Covid design is almost unfunctional with owners and many animals waiting outside.

I was told this Thursday at 10:30 and immediately told my boss I had to take the next day off. I left Jacksonville, FL at 3:30 am to drive to the animal shelter 5 hours away and be there as soon as they opened at 9. Upon arriving I was told that our application had actually been denied, and they were slowing the adoption process for these dogs down. I never once received an email, phone call, text, carrier pigeon or even smoke signals saying that things had changed and we wouldn't be able to adopt a dog today. When asked why this information had not been relayed to me I was told they had received 20 applications yesterday and had to reassess all the applications. If you are looking to adopt a dog from this place I wouldn't hold your breath. They will throw you and your application to the wind at a moments notice and not tell you until you get there. They care more about their publicity and social media presence then they do about actually getting these animals into good homes.

!!! URGENT - PSA - what's going on here (witnessed today 7/27/2025) ANIMAL NEGLECT !!!…read more I always strive to write positive reviews whenever possible, especially for non-profits & organizations that aim to help animals.. However, I visited this "rescue" today with my children, and I was absolutely appalled at what we saw! Wish I could give zero stars. Where do I begin.... For one- as soon as we stepped foot inside, we had to literally hold our breaths from the stench. The place is filthy-there is urine and fecal matter everywhere. And it only got worse as we walked around.. It's so overcrowded with way too many cats sharing small spaces. There is an obvious lack of necessary supplies like water and food -the cats are so skinny and clearly malnourished. The dogs don't appear healthy either and there are at least two sharing each cage, surrounded by urine and feces also. We felt so sorry for these poor animals and our hearts were breaking! :( One woman working there came to greet us. The other few staff/volunteers were either sitting down looking at their phones or in the back not helping. I wish these animals could all find loving homes, of course, but until then, it is the job of the shelter to properly care for them. The "United For Animals Rescue" is understaffed, under-equipped, and clearly do NOT genuinely care about the health and well-being of these needy animals! It's so very sad. I should have taken pictures, but the odor was so unbearable that we just wanted to get out of there as quickly as possible. All the positive reviews are from years ago. We have visited there in the past, and I remember it used to be great. I don't know why or how it got so bad there, but something needs to be done IMMEDIATELY PLEASE to prevent these and any more helpless animals from suffering any longer!!! **HOW DO I FILE A REPORT FOR SOMETHING LIKE THIS?!?**

One time I thought that my 18 year old Border Colie was dying. We had to carry him in. They ended up referring us to a neurologist for animals. This last time my dog had a urinary tract infection. He was diagnosed immediately and given medication that cured him. I am always afraid to go to the vet, especially since my dog is so old, but the staff here makes it easy for me and always clams my fears. At times they had to keep him there and he seemed OK with that. It is always fun to go pet shopping while waiting for your turn at the vet. They allow pets in the store. One problem with that though...my dog always ends up peeing or pooping in the store because he smells the scent of other animals. The staff is always right there to clean up after him. God bless them. They truly love animals!

Two girls working on one small dog in there. The smaller brunette stated, " yes he's been ready". I asked why nobody called me when he was finished. She had no idea why. The girl replied, "let me look it up.... He was finished over 2 hrs ago." I went back to the cashier to complain and he replied, "we have nothing to do with them...they are completely separate from petsmart." Nobody wanted to take responsibility as to why my dog was unnecessarily caged for several hrs without a phone call to pick him up. Furthermore, the groomers work inside petsmart, so yes they are ultimately responsible for everything that happens in there. I will NEVER bring my dog back there again!

Often on weekends they'd bring in dogs for adoption. I saw a puppy online and fell in love with her, an hour later she was in the store and I got to have one on one with her. I put in an application that same day. Their application process is a bit lengthy, you have to put in an online application then that goes to a certain department that will reach out to you, they also reach out to your landlord as well as your veterinarian, then there's a zoom home visit and then you meet with the fosters and if everything all works out, you get to adopt the animal, this process took about a week. I was able to adopt my little girl who I have had for almost 9 months now. Her adoption fee was a little high, but I'm assuming because she's a very small dog and she's also a designer type breed, but I didn't have any issues paying that fee for her. Her fosters were amazing, and I could tell that they took very good care of her and that she was very much loved. The only issue that I do have is that the doctor that good karma uses cleared her, and said that nothing was wrong with her, however, my vet veterinarian said that she had a heart murmur. So I am keeping an eye out on that and will be sending her to a specialist. But overall, from start to finish, the process was easy and I was able to adopt without any issues. Everybody experience will never be the same when it comes to different companies so just go with your heart.
