I take my dog to Banfield Veterinarian that is located in this Petsmart. It is excellent. The staff is very capable and compassionate. One time I thought that my 18 year old Border Colie was dying. We had to carry him in. They ended up referring us to a neurologist for animals. This last time my dog had a urinary tract infection. He was diagnosed immediately and given medication that cured him. I am always afraid to go to the vet, especially since my dog is so old, but the staff here makes it easy for me and always clams my fears. At times they had to keep him there and he seemed OK with that. It is always fun to go pet shopping while waiting for your turn at the vet. They allow pets in the store. One problem with that though...my dog always ends up peeing or pooping in the store because he smells the scent of other animals. The staff is always right there to clean up after him. If I could give zero stars I would... Dropped my dog off yesterday AM to get him groomed. I was told 4 hrs. After more than 6 hrs I went to the front desk asking for my dog. Two girls working on one small dog in there. The smaller brunette stated, " yes he's been ready". I asked why nobody called me when he was finished. She had no idea why. The girl replied, "let me look it up.... He was finished over 2 hrs ago." I went back to the cashier to complain and he replied, "we have nothing to do with them...they are completely separate from petsmart." Nobody wanted to take responsibility as to why my dog was unnecessarily caged for several hrs without a phone call to pick him up. Furthermore, the groomers work inside petsmart, so yes they are ultimately responsible for everything that happens in there. I will NEVER bring my dog back there again! read more

I have been taking my dogs here for many years and they are always so caring and professional and do such a great job. Currently I have a 10 year old female golden retriever named Ivy. She's had cancer in her nose and had radiation to cure it. She's had some major ups and downs and other health scares. I only have Marie the manager groom her as she does the most amazing job all over on her. But more importantly the level of care and concern over my girl is above and beyond. She knows I worry about Ivy being stressed and she takes her right away grooms her and waits with her out front in the salon not in the back for me to pick her up. I took my cat to the petshotel at the Delray location and I was very displeased with the experience. My cat is very calm and sociable with people, as well as done well at boarding in his past. The day after I dropped my cat off, while I was across the state I received a call saying someone needed to pick my cat up. They said my cat was hissing and refusing them to go near him, which is very concerning to me as he is very sociable and prefers to be around people. They told me l basically needed to get someone to go get him and when I asked if he could stay if I couldn't find someone to pick him up "we would cross that bridge if it comes". Absolutely a ridiculous situation to call me when I am away for a week refusing to keep caring for my cat. The workers are obviously not experienced enough with cats, or were not being nice enough to my cat to warrant this reaction. 12/27/2024 thru 12/29/2024 Location PetSmart Linton Boynton Beach On the evening of Dec. 27, 2024, my wife and I took our 10-month-old Australian Shephard for a short 3-day, 2-night stay at this facility. Our Aussie had 2 overnight stays at this facility prior to this one, so there were no concerns or issues. She was dropped off with her own prepackaged food for the stay as well as her favorite blanket. On the 29th we had to extend her stay by a few hours and we were told she was out of food. This was understandable, as we'd sent her with the correct amount of food for her scheduled length of stay. The PetSmart Pet Hotel, after speaking with us, confirmed that a serving of their food would be given to her. Upon picking up of our dog, she appeared excited to see mom & dad. The attendant told us everything went well, and she was very good. We went straight home, and she drank 2 liters of water in a single sitting! This was not normal at all. We sensed something want right. The second indicator was she went right to sleep for 3 hours! Aussies are high energy all the time! She smelled terrible (even though she's been given a bath prior to going. When she finally woke up, she couldn't bark! We knew something was very wrong so it was decided to take her to VEG Vet Emergency Room (VEG). Upon examination, it was found she was dehydrated and required a full IV Bag! Her throat was inflamed and she was unable to bark at all, the Vet at the ER said it seemed she had been barking until she couldn't anymore! Upon calling PetSmart it took time to finally find out that our 10-month-old Aussie Shepard had not been given her Suite room, as per her reservation, but rather she was kept in a crate! She was stressed, but the hotel never called to let us know what was happening. To PetSmart's credit upon finding out our dog was in the ER and being treated, they did pay the ER visit and refunded the stay. Monday, we took her to her primary vet, who also found the same thing the ER found!!! We also found out one of her bags of food was not given to her, which left us wondering if they'd failed to feed her as per the instructions given to them. On Monday, we finally got to speak with Senior Management at PetSmart, who investigated and found that mistakes were made with our dog! In the end we trusted them to take care of our pet, who we liken to a family member, not to mention she is my Service Dog, and as a Veteran I need her to be herself. It has been 8 days thus far, she is still "off" and her bark is slowly returning! Awareness is what this post us about, make sure they are not over booked and not going to be able to give your pet the attention it deserves. Lesson learned. read more

Never! Never! Take your puppy there. I was in the area and need a grooming, shaved close, explained that Oreo it might be a little nippy in the hind qtrs clean so be aware. Well, they call me and said pick up you dog because we only cut partially since he was agitated, and a bit aggressive. He looks like a half-trimmed puppy, paws were long, Face and neck area not touched. They even suggested to take him to a vet to get sedated before next grooming. They just STOPPED! I explained he had been groomed since being very young and never an issue, They were horrible! Gave me my money back. I went to Walmart to buy my own dog shaver and tried to finish his paws, and he was fine. Hoping get a experience private groomer who cares and know how to calm a puppy. Terrible experience and the worst grooming ever today by Teresa! She took it upon herself to groom my pup even though I did not book with her. After giving VERY detailed instructions about what style was requested she was only supposed to take off an inch off the top of my dog's hair. I sent my mom to pick up my dog and got home to see she voluntarily took 3 inches off the top of my dogs head when I specifically told her not to cut the top of her head short because we where ponytails. I was shocked I could get in with a same day appointment. The staff was super friendly and kind- had nice things to say about my dog and encouraged me to bring her back anytime. Shortly thereafter, my dog started itching, scratching, and licking herself, obsessively. I couldn't go down the driveway without her stopping half a dozen+ times because she was so uncomfortable. My dog had such severe razor burn and she was so sad. They left her hair longer than what we had initially discussed and shaved her belly down to her skin. Why did they need to shave her down to her skin? For a solid week I had her topically and orally medicated. We couldn't walk anywhere or do anything. Yesterday was a week since our appointment and we're in a way better place than we were last week. While I have had good experiences at other petsmart locations, I would never bring my dog back here again. read more

Watch for a bait and switch for more money! I had an appointment at the Salon for 9:30 AM. My pet was staying at the PetsHotel (which was great BTW) and I wanted to have her clean when I picked her up. I planned to pick her up at 10:30 AM since I had a 9:30 appointment. My dog is a very small 5 lb short haired chihuahua. I take her to a PetSmart salon monthly and they always have her done and ready for pickup in 45 min. not the 3 hours as PetSmart defaults for pickup. At the Delay location they told me they could not let me pick her up until 12:30 PM as the system has the 3 hours reserved. I was on vacation and needed to plan for the long trip after picking her up so I did not want to run risk of her not being finished as all other PetSmart locations can do in 45 min. I was told that if I wanted to pay additional $15 that they would guarantee she would be done at 10:30. I later find that PetSmart double books the reservations and who ever wants to pay the extra for the Express service gets to take over the reservation time slot. I have never had this happen to me before at a PetSmart. Instead if I do not come to pick her up after the normal 45 min and plan for the 3 hours the Salon is not happy about it. This Delray location is a bait and switch for extra money since they could not guarantee to offer me the 9:30 AM slot that was booked. I will never use or recommend this location again. I am glad other locations do not treat me like this and charge extra to keep an appointment time. read more

The staff is very communicative and I have found that they are extremely reliable when it comes to relating to me and personalized care for my dachshund. My elderly father lives in an assisted living place in Boca with his little Maltese, Zoey. Since my dad doesn't drive, I take Zoey to appointments. I previously took her to this PetSmart once before, and they did a fine job. The lady said to make an appointment for 6 weeks out. I immediately made the appointment online for today (July 10th) back on May 22nd (email confirmation pictured). I also have a voicemail from yesterday confirming my 8:30am appointment for today, July 10th (also attached). I showed up today and was told that although Zoey had an 8:30am appointment, the groomer wasn't scheduled to come in until 12:30pm. (?) Additionally, a pug came in as a walk-in just before me, and since they are a difficult health breed, they get serviced first and can't be kenneled. This pug did not even have an appointment! They should have advised that owner that they were booked. The manager said they couldn't even take Zoey for a later appointment because there was no room in the back & they were booked up. I had to drive Zoey all the way back to Boca and then come back (in rush hour) to Delray and be late for work. I just picked up my Chow chow from the pet hotel in Delray Beach, FL. He was supposed to stay in a suite, me and my husband made sure we booked the bigger room for him because he is a big dog. He stayed at the hotel from the 6th to today (14th), surprisingly when I arrived there I saw one of the employees putting him back in his room, which was the standard room, not the one we booked! She told me he had stayed there all 9 days and that is what they thought we booked. To disappoint me even more, I booked a bath for him today before I picked him up, and after getting him I noticed he was still a little wet on his paws, face and behind his ears, they didn't even brush him, there was fur falling everywhere and also his penis is really dirty, they didn't even bothered to clean it! And the worse of it all idk what they did to my puppy but he is been sleeping since I picked him up, he couldn't even go for a walk without stopping every 2 minutos to lay down after being locked in that small room for 9 days. Which I find very very suspicious since I also know that my chow howls and cries a lot every morning and every time I called they affirmed me that he was just fine and didn't howl at all, weird, since it's been his first time away from me and he is just a puppy. read more

This PetSmart is fine. I've never had any issues with the pet hotel, the employees there have been great! The checkout has been good as well. It's the grooming system that is just fine. I dropped off my 4 lb chihuahua for a bath and brush and added the top dog plus portion so they could grind her nails. In this package it also includes some type of bow or bandana which we didn't receive. $49 seems a bit steep to not get what you pay for. They only allow one person in the grooming center at a time. An employee who worked checkout saw me waiting to go in and told me they would hurry along the process which I greatly appreciated. He grabbed my receipt and let me check out and said someone will be grabbing my dog. Well no one got my dog. I just had the worst experience at the Grooming section of Petsmart on Linton in Delray Beach. my regular groomer at a different store was not in today so I tried to bring my cats in to have their nails clipped. First, I had to go home and get all my records for them and then I had to drive all the way back through traffic after my cats had already been in the carrying cases for about a half an hour, when I got there, they scrupulously looked through their rabies shots were were given a year and a half ago instead of just a year ago and they refused to clip my cats nails. I had to drive them back home another half hour. My cats were so stressed that one of them pooped in the carrier and I just spent 15 minutes cleaning that out. I took my shitzu for grooming and selected how much to cut her. When I returned she was completely shaved and almost unrecognizable! In addition she was shaved so close to the skin that she was completely irritated snd het neck was sore from a restraint .It's almost 2 weeks and she is still recovering from her traumatic experience. Penny is incredible! We had fostered a dog previous and now we are taking our almost 4 month old Pomsky to her as well. We are so thrilled with how many amazing tools she has given us. We love the Pet hotel as well because they offer training for your dog while you are away. I can not tell you how much I appreciate the staff here. Penny has worked with us on the basics with Cooper and he is such a smart dog and I think they has a lot to do with Penny. She is always there to answer questions even if she is super busy. Just from training alone Cooper is always so tired afterwards because his brain is always working during training which I love. Honestly everyone should take their dog here for training. The personal and group lessons (which we have done both) are incredible. I can not say thank you enough or recommend dog training enough! I'm very thankful for everyone there even in this time of Covid-19 they are very good about spreading out group classes to maintain the 6 feet apart and everyone wears a mask. No I replied I live almost ten minutes away. She then said ok ten minutes. I got there. Then she refused to work on him stating that something was wrong with his eyes and that I needed to take him to the vet and find out what's wrong with him. As a former employee of PetSmart (Stylist), I'm disgusted that I just picked my dog up from the hotel and he smells of urine. Not just a little bit, but a VERY strong odor. I paid for all the extras - including a daily Kong, (while I can't prove it) I truly believe they didn't give him one everyday because they filled out a pawgress report and didn't include that on the "treats given" section and they said he didn't eat his meals well. I frequent this location to board my puppy and I have to say- I am so pleased with their level of customer service! I am a first time dog / puppy mom, and I was super nervous leaving my puppy in the hands of, well, strangers. The employees that work at the pet hotel within the store are TOP NOTCH in my book. They walked me through the services I wanted for my puppy (nail trim, grooming, all day group play, etc.). Of course I was a bit sad to leave my puppy (it was his first time away from me) but I was confident he would be well taken care of. It really warmed my heart when one of the ladies (her name escapes me, darn) took my puppy in her arms and held him like a baby (he's only five months old). I recently signed up for beginning puppy classes, it's a six-week class that is held every Saturday. Penny, the instructor, is AMAZING! She is so good at what she does- during the first class she had my (now) six month old chiweenie sitting, listening, and even responding to commands. Penny needs to be recognized as the best in the industry. I want to give this location five stars but unfortunately I was a bit annoyed that I was required to produce my puppy's shot records for his puppy class even though all of his records are on file with the pet hotel (because I use them for boarding / group play) and the pet hotel is in the same section as the dog training area. All in all I HIGHLY recommend this PetSmart location for all of your pet's needs as well as training- sign up for the puppy training class, Penny is the best, you won't be disappointed! read more
