So me and my wife came here Friday to bring our dog to get groomed when we pulled in to park there was a guy out side spinning some kind pipe with a torch on it not sure what he was smoking we figured it was just a homeless person upon going inside and having our dog brought back to get cut and bath when our dog was done a guy walked out and it was the guy out side smoking the glass his name was Franklin we than found out he worked there what if he dropped what ever drug he was smoking and my dog ate it it sad because everyone was super nice and did a great job but I can't trust there being a chance my dog eats something and it hurts him read more

Little dogs stay in one big room and they pee (or defecate) right there. I think I saw about 10-15 dogs in a room about the size of a large dining room. A poor soul comes in and mops urine from the floor periodically. Terribly unhygienic, spreads disease, dogs stepping in urine, not to mention it teaches your dog to pee right on the floor, not a pee pad or outside grass area. A nightmare training strategy for when they go home! Owners must be desperate to send their dog here. Not clean. Not professional. Not good enough for me or my sweet house broken, healthy dogs! read more

We are from Philly and have a great groomer there who my little havaooo knows well. We needed a groomer here in Delray and were lucky to find Barkingham Palace. My husband brought her and was immediately impressed with the kind owner who obviously loves dogs. We picked up Kayla when they told us at 3:30 pm and she smelled sweet, looked adorable with a pretty decorative hair tie and an amazing cut. On our initial visit to see the facility and learn about their operations before deciding if we wanted to board our dog at Barkingham Palace, we were given a full tour, and were able to speak to the staff on duty at the time. Everyone we met seemed to care about the dogs and enjoy their work (despite the frequent "clean-up" activity and incessant barking). The building appeared to be well maintained, and the business was well run. We met some people in the lobby who were picking up their dog and they provided positive testimonials regarding their experience with Barkingham Palace. Their positive comments helped convince us to become clients. We were initially concerned about leaving our dog for several days because she is not well socialized (hmmm... maybe like her owner?!?) So, a Barkingham employee, Robert, suggested we first have her visit for a few hours - at no charge - to see how she would act among other dogs. Robert is an amazing employee and an excellent dog handler. He quickly assessed our dog's personality and, after our dog's brief visit, determined the dog would do well at Barkingham. And she did! We like that Barkingham doesn't use confined cages. Each dog has an individual run based on their size. And during the day the dogs are allowed to play in common areas, both inside and outside, under close staff supervision. At the end of our dog's stay, Robert took the time to explain how things went and to let us know how our dog could positively interact with others "on her terms" in the future. We've since noticed that she does act better with other dogs in the neighborhood. We will definitely take our dog back to Barkingham Palace and highly recommend it to other dog owners. My dog was severely injured here. The owner paid for the vet bills and said "nobody can ruin my reputation" My dog was TERRIFIED. Lucky to be alive . Do what's right for your baby and don't take them here. There is no outside area for your dog to run and play, no cameras , dogs pee all over the floors and they mop it up. I honestly feel sorry for the dogs here. I see him arguing with customers about stuff all of the time. dogs are injured here all of the time! It makes me sick that this place is still opened after nearly killing my dog. Be warned . If you love your dog. Do not go to this smelly,dirty , no outside play place. Dogs bark all night!! Left unsupervised !! So so sad! I would never leave my dog there!!!!! I DO NOT RECOMMEND BARKINGHAM PALACE In Delray after the experience we just had last week and today! At first i thought this place was great for my pup when dropping him off as place was highly referred by my husbands client. They didnt give me tour or show me areas as they were busy when dropping off but went by someones experience we trusted and from what i saw when walking in. I asked to have them send me pics while i was away for a week (no cameras or able to watch live feed) and to make sure he was doing ok . I only received 1 text the whole time i was gone the next day after dropping off. I was kinda turned off when i saw the room my 5 mth old boy was staying in after requesting this and paying for and advertised as a Royal Queen suite. The DOG play area was an empty room pretty much with no toys or anything just one big empty room... His bedroom was more of a small little barred kennel stall with a old blanket thrown on a hard floor not even his blanket and toys i gave and thats it. Was not happy about this. I asked where he would be staying and was told he would have a raised dog bed in there and be pampered and taking care of especially paying $48 nite and where other places i could of brought him were more like a hotel stay for dogs rather then looking like an animal control/Humane society kennel locked area. I picked him up and he seemed ok.. Very anxious to run to me and came home with a little wheezing after a day or so. I went back to pickup an item They lost and they treated me awful and very rude. I will not be going back. Better places to take your loved pets to with better qualify of care for your $$.. Makes me wonder how he was really treated when he was there while i was gone and behind closed doors and overnite. Never again! Tony and his son truly care about the dogs. Robert was unbelievable with our dog Lucy. He knew here personality and her quirkiness. She was 14 plus years old and they were so good to her. Long story short, when I picked my dog up from this place, they charged me more than double what they quoted me over the phone, made me wait a while before bringing him out, he finally came out absolutely filthy like he had been on a dingy basement floor all weekend, infested with full grown fleas (he gets treated with frontline) raw bloody paws, and green gook in his eye. I spent my birthday at the vet thanks to these people. My poor baby, I'll never know what he went through on that weekend from hell! I hope this doesn't happen to anyone else. read more

I moved to the Delray area from Chicago 2 years ago. I was so nervous to find a daycare/boarding place for my "special needs" Frenchie. He has MANY quarks (like you can't reach down to pet him as he thinks you will hurt him and he'll bite). Made an appointment with Tony the owner to do the evaluation. I explained as many issues as I could and he assured me they'd get to know him. He does great with other dogs so he passed the eval and they accepted him. It's been 2 years and all I can say is THANK YOU! The staff is so kind and patient. I haven't had one issue. I recently adopted a shelter boy from Puerto Rico. It's great that they have larger sleeping areas so they can sleep together (and they have a second dog discount). They even have a groomer for those needs or a nice bath prior to pick up. First off, Tony and his son Tony, or rather Tony and his father Tony, are both terrific Jersey Boys who transplanted their doggie daycare and grooming business to Boynton Beach. They sold their Jersey store, moved down here and decided to do it again. And we're grateful. We bring our Stella, a one-year old Havanese, almost daily for playtime. (We tell her that she's going to school). And she seems to love it. We also get her groomed there and they do a great job. We'll be moving to East Boca soon so we'll be leaving their catchment area and we're sad about that. Can't say enough good things about this place. It's obviously someplace where the owner really cares about making a good experience for your pets. All the staff is kind and caring.We have two dogs a small Yorkie Who is a rescue from a puppy mill he's very shy and timid. Our other dog is a 20 pound poodle mix who has separation anxiety. Grooming is traumatic for both these dogs however bringing them to Barkingham is always a good experience. They are always calm when they get there and in very good spirits when they are finished. No fear no trauma so shaking.That is the most important thing to us as pet owners.Caring for pets is a real priority and the folks at Barkingham really make an effort to make them comfortable. He tried to blame it on someone else when she has not been groomed by anyone. I have never needed to find a boarding facility for my dog. Circumstances changed, and I went to several places before I chose Barkingham Palace. My dog is 8 years old, a 28lb Peke mix. She spent 4 nights at Barkingham Palace and I could not be happier. The owners suggested we bring Lola for a temperament test to see where she fit in. I brought her to to facility for day care twice before leaving her. BP was so accommodating, friendly, and the staff was caring and positive. BP was a clean, well organized, and professional facility. They have boarding, Daycare, and Grooming. My dog came home happy, and she smelled great after her bath from BP on the day she left. We've been bringing our babies here now for a year, and will continue to do so. We were complaining that one of our dogs kept shedding her undercoat more than we'd ever seen, and figured it was due to the Florida weather. Being new here, we just figured it was something we needed to live with. Tony Jr. recommended we shave her, so we figured, "Hmm...ok, let's give it a shot." Well, DUH! Why didn't we think of that 5 years ago!? She's 6 now, and we have her shaved about 4 times per year, and thanks to Tony Jr's recommendation, we now have the floating masses of hair under control since there aren't any anymore! If it were possible to give a zero star review I would. We brought my 2 dogs for boarding for Thanksgiving 2018, Wednesday - Sunday. Our dogs were there many times before and we felt comfortable that they would be treated well. NOT this time. Both dogs were well and in good health when we dropped them off on Wednesday. When we went to pick them up on Sunday, our yellow lab was barely able to walk and had a infected sore the size of a silver dollar on his upper right leg. No one even took the time to tend to the sore on his leg, it was full of dirt & infected. OUR vet attributed this to being stationary for long periods of time. I asked the son of the owner, what happened to my dog? His response was, and get this,.... "this is how he was brought in". Honestly, he could have cared less about what was going on and showed zero concern for our dog. I also should note that I did call once to see how they both doing and was told "they are doing great". On Sunday night, my lab started bleeding from his nose. We brought to the vet first thing Monday morning. He lost 6 pounds in 5 days and was severely dehydrated with an infected sore on his leg. A day later, after being given fluids thru an I.V. and food, he regained 2 pounds. They did not even notice our dog was not drinking or eating? They didn't even notice how very sick he was? SHAME ON THEM! Our vet told us that had we waited any longer to bring him in he would have died from dehydration. I understand that dogs do get sick when being boarded. I get it. What I do not understand is how they allowed a dog, in their care, to became sick & take NO action to help him. Simply put, they paid little to no attention to my sick dog. For this I will never forgive myself for putting him there and I will never forgive them for letting him suffer as he became sicker by the day. I spoke to the owner at length about this and after going back and forth he offered and refunded the cost of the stay. As stated before, we loved this place and left our dogs there many times over the years as well as used their day care..... I have no idea what happened but whatever happened its not good. I would strongly urge you to seek out another place to bring your dog. You do not want to go thru what we went thru. One final note and to add insult to injury, owner never called us to see how our dog was doing. read more

Barkingham Palace is amazing! Took our Bernese Mountain Dog Charley to be groomed and they were absolutely fantastic! It was our first time going to them and from the moment I walked in to drop off Charley they made us feel at home!
