My children both attended preschool and kindergarten at the Willows. Now 18 and 15, they still wave as we drive by. What I loved about their time there was the well rounded curriculum and the people skills they learned as the grew. A healthy mix of age appropriate academics, rigorous play, arts and life lessons was a constant and consist schedule that allowed them to thrive. No matter what kind of day it was, the activities were thoughtful and intentional. So as a kid I went to this school and the actual school is amazing. They literally have a pool like come on who doesn't wanna go to a school with a pool and I made a lot of friends there. And most of the teachers were nice to me. Except this one lady. I don't remember what her name was, but she despised me. One day. I had not gotten that much sleep, because I had just gotten back from a trip from the airport and so I told her I was tired and I couldn't swim because I almost drowned with how tired I was and she was like OK get out and so I eventually started waking up because we always did pool time at the beginning of the day to swim laps but I got more energy and so when it became recess time I went to go play, but she said no. No. No. Where are you going? You're not allowed to play because you're too tired and so I sat there for almost 2 hours. Maybe even three just sitting there halfway through. She asked if I wanted to play, and I said no on accident so I was like wait. Actually, yes I do but she ignored me. Even when I called out her name. According to my dad. Every time I was dropped off. She rolled her eyes and gave my dad a glare, and after she had ignored me, she started laughing with her coworkers, like nothing happened. The other teachers were nice. I think there is one other lady that didn't like me, but she didn't actually talk to me at all. But yeah, they were just laughing at me. This school was amazing to go to. It would be way better if they had better staff choices. I went to that school 2016 through 2018. I had this one friend that I don't know what happened to. We used to always stay up during naptime because we weren't tired and make funny faces at each other. I had this friend named Sammy. We would always go out Theresas and play construction and according to my mom, I was friends with this one little girl too. I don't remember her name or her in general. I don't think I could love this school anymore than I do. When it comes to finding a school for your little ones, it is often a trial and error process. When you find a gem of a school like Willows on Quebec, it's the best feeling as a parent, and for your kids. My daughter jumps for joy as she walks in her classroom. The teachers honestly love being there and really care for the children. Plus they offer swim lessons in the summer! My only wish, they would have space for kids under 2.5 so my son could go. I am currently 37 years old. I attended this school when I was 3 and 4. My memory has faded some but I still remember how horrible the staff was to me. They HATED me. I remember during nap time I wasnt sleeping. I reached out to touch a toy truck. A big fat teacher, she had short blonde curly/wavy hair. She was overweight and she was wearing a purple shirt. She stood over me and screamed at me. Then she went back to a table that was a circular table and sat with four other teachers. All of them bashed me. I remember knowing that I couldnt cry because if I cried I would be mocked. I silently held back my tears as the teachers said horrible things about me. I dont remember exactly what was said. Its been many years but I do remember that things were said and it was mean. I remember being forced to eat food I hated, coleslaw that was runny and soggy. I wasnt allowed to eat anything else until I ate my slaw first and I hated it. I remember the lunch room being down some stairs as you walk into the front. I dont know if they changed things up since then but back then the lunch room was down a few steps as you walk in, past the front desk. The kids sit at tables and back then we walked up to get food if we wanted more. The lunch lady refused to feed me until I ate my soggy slaw first. To this day the smell of slaw gets to me. I remember another incident where we were making toy boats. We had to use string to sew in the part of the boat, making it fun colors. I remember all of the other kids getting help. The teachers were patient and kind to them from what I remember. When it came to me asking for help I was shoved away. I remember the room being in the back, as you walk past the lunchroom. You walk in the doors and walk down a few steps to the lunchroom, if thats still the lunchroom and you walk to the left, around the lunchroom and there is a room in the back. I think they called it the yellow room back then but my memory is foggy, as its been 34 years. Thats the room where most of it happened. The pool was another story. I was ignored in the pool. I had an accident, busting my lip in the shallow end. The teachers ignored it but the lifeguard noticed and helped me. The lifeguard had long brown hair that was tied back in a ponytail. She seemed to be early 20s from what I remember. The lifeguard stand was by the wall, opposite end of where you walk out to get to the pool. Its been 34 years and my memory has faded some. I was 3 and 4, very little at the time but I still remember. I did not send my oldest to preschool due to being afraid it would happen to him. We will be possibly homeschooling due to me not trusting the school system due to my preschool years. Dont send your children here. No way in hell would I be sending my kids here. I have a few children now of preschool and elementary school age and this is one school I will not be sending to. read more

Please think carefully before you send your child to this center. My child attended Willows from October 2023 until February 2025. Our decision to send them there is one I sincerely regret. The positive reviews you see are from when this school was under different management. I encourage anyone thinking about sending their children to this school to check the Colorado Shines website. One of those licensing violations included an incident with my child at this school, in which they were dunked into the swimming pool as a punishment. They had been going through a phase where they were scared of the water and didn't want to swim that day. They were just barely 3 years old at the time. My child was clearly upset when I brought them home that day but couldn't explain why. I didn't find out about this incident until the next day, after I'd already dropped them off at school and gone to work. Even then, the director significantly downplayed the incident, telling me their "toes were dipped" in the water. It wasn't until the case worker from Child Protective Services called me to tell me what had actually happened that I'd found out the truth. And it wasn't until the licensing violations report came out months later that I found out this particular teacher had been abusing my child and others in the room the entire school year. If that wasn't enough, my child got a new set of teachers in the next room, one of which didn't mesh with a lot of the kids, including mine. My kid's behavior was atrocious at home until this woman was fired. There was never any communication from the director that this teacher was let go - she was just gone one day. When I brought up concerns about the teachers not applying sunscreen to my child, I was told that they only apply sunscreen based on the UV index and temperatures for the day. We provided them with a 6oz tube of sunscreen, only half full when we started at the school, and they never asked us for a new tube in the 1.5 years they attended. The center doesn't provide sunscreen. My child consistently told me they didn't put it on them. My child had started having potty accidents since the pool incident. We had brought it up to the school multiple times and were assured that they would help address it. Most days I picked them up, they smelled like pee or had wet pants. Now that they are home with us and we assured them they weren't going back, they immediately stopped having accidents. I feel as if they didn't supervise well enough. All they needed to do was ensure that they went to the bathroom with everyone else and actually used the potty. There were other concerning incidents related to their level of supervision. Another child somehow was able to color marker all over my child's front, back, and face without a teacher noticing. There were also a few instances of me finding them sitting up at the front door alone or playing alone with a group of kids in the multipurpose room when I picked them up. While some of the teachers here were great, my child absolutely deserved better than the treatment they received. I am especially disappointed by the current director's management and her poor communication regarding serious incidents, change in staff, and timely notification of illnesses spreading through the center. Please think twice about putting your child in their unsafe environment. read more

I've been extremely happy with this school. My child has attended preschool and is headed to Pre K here in a few weeks. I really enjoy the low turnover with the teachers and teacher aides. The children get daily swim instruction in the summer, at no extra charge. The day is very structured-- all the teachers and directors are very easily approachable. I would recommend this school, I've had a great experience and enjoy the community they have created here. read more

Before moving to Colorado, I stumbled across the Willows Child Learning Center website and immediately had a good feeling about it so we put our daughter on the waitlist. After moving here and touring multiple preschools and childcare facilities, there was no other option in our mind. We couldn't be happier with our decision! We later found out that a local family member sent all three of his children to WCLC, and our pediatrician currently sends her two children there. In addition, two children in my daughter's class have parents that attended WCLC. That is an obvious testament to the quality of care they provide, and have provided for decades. I have never met a more caring, dedicated staff. Our daughter is incredibly happy at WCLC and we would highly recommend them to any family. read more

This is a wonderful school. The team members are kind and present. The culture of the school is based on the Love and Logic model, which is right in line with our home style. My daughter loves it here, she is happy when my husband and I drop her off and pick her up. read more

I cannot praise this ELC strongly enough. One year ago our grandson could not count, knew no letters, and was a behavioral problem. After being there for a year, he can count to 100, spell his first and last name, knows the sound of every letter, behaves beautifully, and even learned to swim! My son loves this school and his teachers. He made a lot of friends. We really feel comfortable with the school schedule. Children have time to learn and play. I could not be happier for our son. We were fortunate to have found this wonderful place for our boys to spend their days. They loved going every day, were well-prepared for kindergarten and made close friends that have carried on to their elementary schools. The summer program for elementary-aged kids provides a very nice combination of structure and fun, as well as weekly field trips. I have 35 YEARS of personal, close experience with the Willows family. I started at Willows when I was 6 years old and my sister was 3. I remember summers, particularly: there was a weekly field trip, daily crafts like woodwork, sewing, crocheting, tile work, daily reading, and TWICE daily swimming lessons and free-swim! There was a camping trip each summer that was always so much fun! It taught me about my state, the wildlife, and survival skills. I began working there as a teacher's aide from 16 years old until 18 when I went to college. My own child started there at age 3 and went to Willows through their private Kindergarten program. The summers are STILL as I described: fun and engaging! My two nieces currently are enrolled, and my daughter has participated in the teen volunteer program to assist teaching preschoolers how to swim in the summers! Our family is richly influenced and educated by the Willows center. I recommend this Learning Center to people constantly! As a staple in their community for 50 years, they have accomplished providing a safe, meaningful learning experience for students and parents for decades. This is an amazing childcare/ preschool program for so many reasons. They have weekly lesson planning sessions in each room. Summer sessions allow for field trips for the older students and swimming lessons for all. Their structured day allows for students to feel safe, happy and cared for. Everyone (except the lady who always posts bad reviews all over Yelp) is extremely happy with the program at Willows. Low turn over and a director who truly cares for kids and their families is the only experience we've had with Willows. read more
