We have been attempting to get a refill on a pain med for our senior dog & wanted it sent to Chewys, it will be an everyday rest of life med. Chewys has also been requesting the rx - basically a form w/3 questions. No Dr signature. Everytime we call Willowbend it's, yes we'll do that except for one time when someone said "don't have any record of your dog". Unbelievable! Now 2 weeks on and w/o pain med for a couple days, I call again. This time I'm extremely upset and am told they when don't they don't send out prescriptions (basically fill it with us as the only option). Today I researched to discover they aren't obligated to send an rx but they are obligated to provide a written one. Why am I irate? They didn't tell me they WON'T send out but we can pick up a hard copy. So, they are getting $14 more for meds out of us while we wait on Chewys. But the $14 has cost them 4 patients. Very short sighted. Reckon the "do no harm" doesn't apply to vet services. UPDATE- my husband stopped by for the RX and was told they won't give a written RX. Fortunately he called Chewys and the clinic gave the necessary info over the phone. Willowbend which we've gone to for ~ 15yrs, changed hands a couple years ago and not for the better. read more

I asked a lot of questions since we are 1st time puppy owners. The vet staff was welcoming. The Veterinarian answered all my questions and they sent us home with 3 medications. And a next appointment. We paid for a fecal test since his only 3 months old. We were running late puppy diarrhea 10-13mints we called and they let us keep our appointment. Thank you. I don't know this clinic enough to give it more stars. But as I continue to bring my pup then I can update my stars. I'm believing that it's a place that shows they love pups and that they care. The original Owner and doctor recently sold the business. I scheduled an appointment for my senior dog, with the new vet. He wrote a prescription for a painkiller for my dogs arthritis. I found the medication through chewy.com, but the new vet would not sign the prescription and told me I'd need to come in for another appointment before he would send the prescription to chewy. I don't think my 15 year-old dogs arthritis has gone away since our last visit. read more

We have boarded our dog here and on two occasions, the service has been poor. I picked up my dog once, and they brought her out covered in urine! I had to ask for at least a napkin to help soak it up. I decided to give them another chance, and I miscalculated their open hours but instead of calling to check on the appointment I made to see if we were still coming, they just closed for the weekend. I work on appointments and when my clients are running late or anything similar, I give a courtesy call. We made the boarding for 5 days, they just lost out on that amount of money, and my family is having to scramble to find a boarder last minute, without any shot records, as this is our vet as well. I tried out this vet because they were listed on Pet Assure and I am so glad I did! Dr. Marty Brinkley and his staff are very kind, respectful, and genuine. My dachshund is 15 years old and so far Dr. Marty has helped little Macy fully recover from chronic UTIs and a limp. While he is a minimalist when it comes to treatment I believe that is what works for us. As pet owners we should be our pets biggest advocate in staying healthy and not just show up to the vet expecting a shot to fix everything, however that is exactly what happened when we went. I took my cat to two vets and an ER with zero results at the first two and some help from the ER but it was all very costly with not much help and there were red flags. I then shopped four more and then I came here. I feel they are honest, gave me everything I needed for my boy who has lower urinary disease which is deadly if not resolved. I didn't have to leave my baby and although it was a little higher than first discussed I did get more meds and results then anywhere else including the ER. This is but far the best veterinary clinic I have ever been to. I've been a client for 8+ years and can say without a doubt that my animals care is a top priority to them. I saw Dr. Kayani and he was great. I took two rescued kittens with serious health issues, and he treated them very respectfully and with high professionalism. Please do not take your animals to Dr. Brinkley. I had taken my cat in twice both times he would say my cat was not in kidney failure nor did he say she had fluid in her lungs. Long story short, I was at the clinic with my cat yesterday October 23, 2023 at 6pm. He barely did anything for my cat knowing her quality of life was up I told him this as I have other cats. 8 hours later she had to be rushed to the North Dallas ER 24 hour vet. My cat was suffering so bad that the vet said it was her time to be put down. I can highly recommend the 24 hour vet very compassionate and went up and above for my beloved Skitter. Please if you are looking for good care, don't go to Willow Bend horrible people there. read more

It is by far the best vet I have been to out of three states I have lived in. If you want quality care for your pet by a very experienced and friendly team, you want to come here. They have taking care of a kitten from the very beginning made sure that he got his shots, sent out reminders for annual visits, make sure our kitty was microchip and neutered per our request and when the kitty got last they were very supportive and helpful. Awful staff, they were not only rude to us but also very accusatory. The three ladies; one with ear gages, another with a PISD scrub, and another brown haired lady verbally attacked us. No compassion was shown towards us, rather just insults and yelling. I do not recommend taking your pet here if you have questions or concerns because the staff up front will most definitely be rude to you. As a pet owner, I would never bring my puppy here again. I brought my dog here last summer because he wouldn't eat. He hadn't eaten a full meal in 5 days (just a couple crumbs) so we took him here. Once we arrived, everyone was friendly, and it made us feel at home until the diagnostic. Once again, my dog hadn't eaten in 5 days, yet they decided to vaccinate my dog (you're not supposed to vaccinate a dog if he isn't eating). The doctor said it was allergies and gave me medication to take home. Once we got home, my dog was even more upset than before, and refused to eat or drink water. We dismissed it thinking it was post effects of the vaccinations he received and gave it a few days. A couple days passed and my dog still wouldn't eat or drink water and was still very upset, so we decided to take him to another vet (Crossroads pet hospital). Once arrived we explained the situation and they informed us of the unprofessional work they did on my dog for vaccinating him on an empty stomach and giving us medication that wouldn't do anything for my dog. They later wanted blood samples to check his blood and asked us to contact this vet as they had done a blood test. Well, long story short, this veterinary (Willow Bend Veterinary Clinic) never picked up despite me calling and leaving voicemails alongside the new clinic calling as well. It was as if they just wanted the $600 we paid for poor service and nothing to be done on my dog. Moral of the story, don't get fooled by the location and how much you will pay. It may seem that if you pay more, you'll get better service, but take my experience as a lesson and please don't take your pet to this clinic. It is very expensive! They say they will charge you a certain amount but when it's time to pay, the price suddenly increases by $200. Very unprofessional clinic and horrible customer service! read more

Thank you Anna and Dr. Brinkly for taking care of our 13-year old dog, Zowie, and pulling out 13 of her teeth! We were referred here because Zowie needed teeth cleaning and extractions. The front office was very friendly and helped us set up an appointment for the day after we called. We brought in Zowie in for an exam first and were given a treatment plan and the cost of the procedures. Anna (the vet tech) helped us and she was very genuine and answered all of our questions. She also made sure we left with clear instructions on how to prepare Zowie for her surgery. We met Dr. Brinkly briefly and he seemed very nice and wise. We were able to schedule Zowie's dental cleaning and extractions for that same week. On the day of her surgery, we dropped off Zowie around 9am and picked her up at 4pm. She was awake and very happy to see us. We were given clear post-operation instructions. Zowie is a 5lb lap dog and for the exam, blood test, dental cleaning, extractions, and the other miscellaneous costs necessary for the surgery, it costed us ~$450. Not a small cost but it was money that we had to spend and I felt better knowing that Zowie was in good hands. All of the staff here are super friendly and gentle with the animals. They all seemed passionate to help the animals to alleviate their pain. Zowie is no longer in pain and I would happily recommend this place to anyone with pets. read more

Dr. Brinkley is very knowledgeable and takes his time to explain what is going on with your pet and answer any questions you may have. Love this place. About 3 weeks ago I adopted a 5 y/o Cocker spaniel. The first night at home he was extremely itchy and scratching non stop. Day 3 I called Willowbend Vet Clinic as soon as they opened and was able to get in the same day. All the staff was extremely friendly and the Vet was amazing. He let us know that Sebastian had fleas and allergies. He immediately gave us a flea chew and a steroid shot to calm his skin. That next day Sebastian was feeling much better. A few days later I noticed he had blister sores on his paws, called the vet and was able to get some medicine for his paws. The Vet even got on the phone to check in on Sebastian and to make sure he was feeling better. Talk about a personal touch! Definitely recommend this place! read more

Staff is not helpful no matter what your request.. no follow through. Dr. Brinkley is fine for vaccinations and simple exams. Do not think he is someone that I can recommend as a surgeon for anything other than minor procedures. He removed a tumor from my dog and the dog had so many complications I took him to another vet who did not feel the problems could be fixed. I had to put him to sleep. I wish if when he opened him up and saw it was more complicated than he thought, he would have just stopped and closed him up. That I would have understood and respected. read more

I assume most people write reviews for a Vet when they are upset. I figured I should write a review that is fair. When i first came to Willow Bend it was for an emergency, and was looking at a few thousand dollar bill at the emergency care over night. There was also some dental work that needed to be done according to our other vet that had to be done. The surgery and the dental work all became a different story when i came here. The surgery didn't include all the extra charges that other vets tried to put on. The dental work was just a tooth that needed to be pulled, and not all this extra bull they had tried to get me to do. Four years later my dog is healthy with no side effects from just having a tooth that needed to be pulled. The surgery was a success. I just want to say if you want a vet who cares and won't try to rip you off this is the place you are looking for. If you want a vet who is friendly and obviously cares about your loved ones, but also cares about you too, then this is the place you are looking for. read more

My dog went in for a routine teeth cleaning and came home with a black eye. Dr. said he 'hit his eye on the floor' yet he also 'didn't see it happen.' When we called to check on the dog they said he was great and just getting over the anesthesia. I arrived to pick him up and they were on the phone calling us to come later cause he still wasn't over the anesthetic.Needless to say, they gave him to me and he was totally alert but had been severly hurt. They were trying to prolong the pick-up so his lack eye would be less swollen. Dr gave pain killers and eye drops for him but never called to check if he was okay. Bought a $30 groupon for grooming service. First they tried not taking it, then ended up charging $20 more for grooming a 10 lbs dog to make up the difference, if not paying the extra charge then going elsewhere. It is a scam for offering groupon but not honor it and charging more. Don't go there with a groupon, will get a bad customer service. read more
