I definitely travel a ways to get to Plano, however I wouldn't take my baby duck (she's a papillon/chihuahua/baby duck mix) to anyone else. Personally, I've had lifelong invisible complex illnesses since I was a baby, and I've been gaslit and literally destroyed by arrogant Dr's who "know everything" and shut me up before words attempt to exit my (or my mothers' back then) mouth. Finding a truly intelligent Dr. with dignity and mutual respect, who listens just as much as they share what they've learned with a client, is not only like winning the lottery, it's an absolutely priceless experience that we can't live without. Dr. John Fuller happens to be a graduate of CSU, which is where we took Lucy to an otologist to further investigate her chronic ear issues. CSU was amazing so perhaps this is where the best vets come from. It was this clinic that finally lead us to figuring out what was hurting her, after maybe only $50,000 was spent running around from clinic to clinic getting nowhere new. Hard to believe but trouble shooting with incompetent dr's really adds up fast while taking nearly a lifetime. Dr. Dena Jones is equally amazing, and they're a perfect team running this clinic. They're also very fair with pricing, which is kind of them however I'd personally be willing to pay more for this level of care. She saw no less than 20 people while I was there so either she's booking more or a lot of walk ins got seen before me. She then said she would not see my dog and to GET OUT shaking her finger at me. Which I did, admittedly I was shaking and PO'd and said some not very nice things. Told her I would be writing a bad review and she said go for it. I sent my husband back to get both of my dogs records and that rude doctor wrote on the records that I assaulted her. There is no reason for that kind of customer service. I had every right to be upset after 2.5 hrs but I would have never raised my voice at her if she hadn't been so rude. Dr. Tanaka has been amazing--she never judged my two old dogs that came in so dirty, since I did not have time to bathe them before. My 14 year old Mattie turns out to have heart disease, and Dr. Tanaka has helped me so much along the way with this scary journey. She called me multiple times in consecutive days upon the diagnosis and has just been so caring in general in the months after. She pays attention to every single detail, pointing out stuff in my doggos that I did not even notice. I am unable to be home with my dogs and only see them once a month, since I live many hours away. However, Dr. Tanaka took the time to learn what my personal situation is and has aided me in giving my dogs the best care. I woke up on Friday and it was clear things were deteriorating, by midday it was clear he was suffering. I searched for open vets and found Legacy Drive. The price was in line with what many vets charge and they were open. We rushed to their location, and called about 15 minutes before arrival asking for a room to be ready. When we arrived we were directed to a waiting room and staff arrived with 2 minutes to start the process (eg, determine if he was an acceptable candidate for euthanasia and other required paperwork). Though we've never been there before, the staff was compassionate, skilled, and professional. This was my wife's first dog and the experience of euthanizing him, was more than sad for her. The bedside manner of the doctor and staff was flawless, as was their skill. I've had to euthanize 4 other dogs throughout my life and none were as peaceful as this procedure. I found the price reasonable (less than the estimate) and they made a bad situation as good as can be. Although they are a far drive, I am considering using them as our primary care vet based on this experience.
