I am extremely picky about where I take my fur kids, and Dr Ward was the fourth vet I tried after moving to Texas.

I've been going to see Dr. Wilson for at least 10 years, probably longer…read more I have a 18 1/2 year old cat that has liver, kidney, heart and thyroid problems that Dr. Wilson has taken care of him for years. My cat is known as the energizer kitty because he keeps on going! He still acts like a kitten a lot of the time. He still comforts me when I need it. This past May he and I drove out to California and he had a great time. I took a copy of his medical records with me just in case plus extra medicines. If it wasn't for Dr. Wilson, I wouldn't have my boy and traveling buddy all these years. Plus we are planning on another trip out to calif in the near future. I have another cat who is 10 and she does not like to travel at all. So I board her with Dr. Wilson because I trust them and I know that if my cat gets sick they will take care of her because I make sure to give them permission. Over the years I've boarded up-to 3 cats and 1 dog without 1 complaint. When I had to put our dog and cat down in the past (at different times) it sure wasn't because of lack of medical attention, care or love on Dr. Wilson's part. It was time to let my fur babies go after doing everything we could so they still had quality of life. I've never trusted a vet like I trust her. Yes, her staff has change but I find that they are caring and listen as well. If they do not know the answer to a question when I call they will find out and call me back. I've had pets for 50 years so I know what I am talking about.

Absolutely do not go to Dr Wilson at 14th street. I was a walk in yesterday and waited 2.5 hrs…read moreuntil she walked in to get my dog a rabies shot or a note as I've been told she's allergic. Granted she had been extremely busy but when I mentioned the long wait her comment was well then just leave. Then proceeded telling me how hard she works and I agreed but said maybe she overbooks and she went ballistic on me. She said she books appts 30 minutes apart. She saw no less than 20 people while I was there so either she's booking more or a lot of walk ins got seen before me. She then said she would not see my dog and to GET OUT shaking her finger at me. Which I did, admittedly I was shaking and PO'd and said some not very nice things. Told her I would be writing a bad review and she said go for it. I sent my husband back to get both of my dogs records and that rude doctor wrote on the records that I assaulted her. There is no reason for that kind of customer service. I had every right to be upset after 2.5 hrs but I would have never raised my voice at her if she hadn't been so rude. This was not the first time I had seen this type of behavior from her but not to this degree.

We had scheduled our schnauzer to be put down on a Saturday, as we were expecting severe winter…read moreweather and most places were closed on Thursday and Friday. I woke up on Friday and it was clear things were deteriorating, by midday it was clear he was suffering. I searched for open vets and found Legacy Drive. The price was in line with what many vets charge and they were open. We rushed to their location, and called about 15 minutes before arrival asking for a room to be ready. When we arrived we were directed to a waiting room and staff arrived with 2 minutes to start the process (eg, determine if he was an acceptable candidate for euthanasia and other required paperwork). Though we've never been there before, the staff was compassionate, skilled, and professional. This was my wife's first dog and the experience of euthanizing him, was more than sad for her. The bedside manner of the doctor and staff was flawless, as was their skill. I've had to euthanize 4 other dogs throughout my life and none were as peaceful as this procedure. I found the price reasonable (less than the estimate) and they made a bad situation as good as can be. Although they are a far drive, I am considering using them as our primary care vet based on this experience.

I can not even explain in words how above and beyond the service and kindness of the staff is there. From Shayla and Flora at the front desk who are outstanding to Angela my vet tech who called me every step of Murphys dental which turned out to him needing 2 extractions She explained everything in detail and provided pricing for everything without even being asked She is friendly and personable as well as knowledgeable and I am grateful to her. And lastly to Dr Steele I have met her once before during a very sad time when I had to make the decision to put my sick cat down. Dr Steele is compassionate and an excellent veterinarian. She did everything she could to help him and I am thrilled she was the Veterinarian who did my Murphy's extractions today. When I went to pick him up she greeted me and explained his procedure to me in detail I adore her I should also mention this whole procedure today was less expensive than I expected it to be. Thank you Legacy Drive Animal Hospital !
