After picking up my newly leased car only hours ago (due to a tiny side view mirror incident) I…read morerealized something: Why not review J&T? No not the cafe in Bluepoint or the ex-*NSYNC musician or even the captain of the Islanders. I'm talking about the auto repair and rebuilders shop located along Hillside Avenue. It's here that you'll find great service and awesome people. Flashback to when I was first starting to drive and my 95' Chrysler Cirrus looked like it was nearing the end of its days. Our mechanic at the time wasn't the friendliest of fellows and basically told us the car was done for....until we decided to take it elsewhere. Enter J&T who not only were able to help in fixing up my outdated automobile, but kept it working for years after. Nowadays, I don't frequent J&T as often (we lease most cars), but every now and then we need an oil change, inspection, or...ya know, I hit something. But when I come here, I know I'm getting honest and truthful work from local guys who really connect with their customers. Whether it's talking to Billy, Scott, Scott's son John, or any employee, you feel like you're getting a group of workers who care (and care for your car!). Better yet, the prices are always fair and they'll do what they can to save you a few bucks. Overall, as long as I'm living local, I'll be coming to J&T Auto Repair and Rebuilders. This group knows how to keep people coming back (even if you kinda don't want to come back due to car problems). Just know, you've got a real winner at J&T.

At first they tried to tell us we'd have to buy the part ourselves and take it to the dealership, even though we already paid them thousands for the job. After going back multiple times, they finally admitted they knew the part was missing the whole time and said it was on back order until November. If they knew, why give the car back incomplete and deny it until we pushed them? Another shop was able to get the part in just one day, so clearly it wasn't impossible. The second car was supposed to have front-end damage repaired, but they gave it back with a dent still there and acted like they didn't notice. Then they told us we'd have to wait months for someone else to fix it. On top of that, we also had brake work done on an AMG package car -- we specifically told them upfront it had larger AMG rotors, they said they understood, quoted us, then later claimed they "didn't know" and acted like they made no money on the job. The whole time, the guy John was rude, made inappropriate comments, and behaved like he was doing us a favor by taking our money. Both cars were left incomplete, and the experience was frustrating, unprofessional, and a complete waste of time. Save yourself the hassle and go somewhere else -- we did, and the other shop fixed things right away.
