Ordered a tow- paid in full- they never showed up or contacted me to let me know they were not coming. Stated "bad weather" - the weather is fine, just some rain earlier in the morning. Would not recommend this business as they left me stranded without notice. read more

I had the BEST experience here! Michael was amazing. First of all, he pumped my gas, and then I saw they had a garage, and so I shared with him that I was having an issue with my headlight. He took a look at it immediately and fixed it. AND he showed me a trick with my battery to use. He was so kind and trustworthy. It's so rare to have a stellar mechanic experience but I did here. Come here for sure! read more

This people that works here are horrible, two females in their 40s, one make also in his 40?s and one older make in his 60s. They're very rude and overcharge for their services. I would not do or use this shop for anything and I definitely recommends anyone from using this business. You will get ripped off. Stay away. read more

Anthony was super helpful towing my vehicle after a tire blow out on the LIE. He was courteous and professional.

Extremely honest expert professionals in car repairs, towing, tires and generally everything auto related. My family has used Charles Schmidt and Sons since 1964 (!!) for every possible issue for dozens of cars over the years. The 2nd (Chuck-he is the greatest) and third (Lindsey and Kara) generation of the Schmidt family is now taking care of the 2nd and 3rd generation of my family! They are kind, generous in every way in addition to being ultimate professionals. I have recommended them to numerous friends over the years and everyone becomes a lifelong customer. They are honestly the best people and business (any industry-not just auto) I have ever done business with and we are talking 60 years of consistently excellent service we have had. Next time you need a tow, repair or gas call or stop by Charles Schmidt and sons (now daughters!) and you will become a lifelong customer like me. Extremely trustworthy , priced very reasonably and fairly. Chuck is a great honest guy who is a leader in the towing industry with a wealth of experience and knowledge in all things towing and cars. read more

The tow truck driver Brian is the best. He took care of my car like it was his own. He was very professional and very knowledgeable.

This company is great with fast and efficient service. They definitely do not disappoint. I was stuck on the side of the highway and Brian was polite and was there to make sure we got off the highway safely. I highly recommend this place when you're in a jam. read more

Chuck and his team were absolutely wonderful when I broke down on a day trip from South Jersey to the area. It was kismet that our car stopped in the parking lot of Schmidt & Sons!!! Check CJ and his team was reassuring, kind, understanding and repaired our broken axle and tire rod extremely fast. The icing on the cake was when his staff gave us formula for my seven month after we ran out due to being stranded. They were everything we needed after such a traumatic event. Thank you! If I lived in the area I'd definitely be returning. read more

If you are looking for scumbags, go no farther than them. Also, if you want your car back bring cash. Super sketchy and rude.

This company was Not able to charge my car but yet charged me for the service. That is terrible!

My sprinter van had a rack and pinion failure while I was in the area and was towed to their facility where repairs were made quickly. The staff was very knowledgable, considerate, and friendly! I appreciate the turn around time in getting me back on the road. This is a large vehicle and was handled professionally. I cannot say enough about the great service I received! Thank you! read more

These guys come through in a day when you can't quite make sure if reviews are real or fake. Chuck, his daughter, and his crew took care of my son and I when his car engine expired and I had to come down to LIU campus to help my son out. They worked with AAA (they do not flatbed for AAA but another service did) and received the car and diagnosed the engine failure within 2 hours (was a ruptured manifold / coolant leak that hydro-locked engine). The operation could not have been more accommodating and helped tackle title / car salvage on his 2004 Impala (not worth engine replacement second time). Very glad to have found them and eased us through a crappy auto trouble situation. Charged us fairly for 1.5 hours work too. Thanks Chuck! - Mike / Geneseo, NY read more

Honest businessmen are a dying breed nowadays especially when it comes to the car business, however that is not the case at Charles Schmidt's shop. After having an issue with my car, I was upset and didn't know what to do since I figured I'd be ripped off by someone. I spoke to Chuck and his shop got my car from the lot I had it towed to and took care of everything for me. He really saved me from a big headache and personally made sure my car was good to go after his guys fixed it. He doesn't overcharge and went above and beyond to make sure I was satisfied and was always available for any questions I had. I highly recommend if you need your car towed and/or have any car problems! Chuck is the nicest! read more

I was driving to the area from out of town and Chuck was so kind, helpful, communicative, and honest! I was in a rough position and he took care of my car-- which is an older Volvo. As soon as i pulled into the lot on a Saturday Chuck flagged me down, told me to pop my hood, and keep my car running. I truly felt safe and taken care of! They were able to replace the parts I needed to be replaced and provided all of the backup to support the fixes. read more

My car was towed by them. They broke the part of the car from underneath because they didn't know how to tow this kind of car. They were bullying, nasty, disrespectful and extremely rude and obnoxious. Hoeeible people to deal with and took no responsibility for the damage they did. I give them ZERO RATING read more

My boyfriend and I were driving down from Canada to visit my parents when we heard strange noises coming from the back left of our tire. We decided to stop at Charles Schmidt & Son Inc. and it was the best decision ever! Even though they were busy they made time for our car and treated us with the upmost kindness! Our car was fixed the next day and we could not be happier! Charles and his team were efficient, informative, transparent and so friendly to us! We made it home back to Canada safe and sound! THANK YOU!!! Highly recommended!!!!!!!!! read more

I had my Harley motorcycle towed to the Harley dealer from Queens (NYCity) by these guys and they were first class all the way. My 2020 carrera 4 S was a day old with 36 miles when it broke down 4 houses from home I called Porsche roadside service and they sent Charles Schmidt and sons to flatbed my car They arrived promptly and I immediately knew this was a high end well organized business. Remote from home started car, greeted by tire pressure low indicator. Drove to fuel only station 200 yards where I was able to fill tire with air; during process discovered air leaking from broken tire wall. Gas only store owner directed me to next corner (100 yards) where I discovered Chuck Schmidt and daughter Lindsay who had loaner tire mounted, as they didn't stock tire brand/size for my Kia but would have 4 replacements next morning. Turned out all tire treads at "replace warning", and as leased vehicle upon returning to dealer I would be responsible for cost of same brand/model tires with excessive wear, all 4! The Schmidt's sent me home with cost of tires and mounting - no charge for loan and mounting of temporary tire. Next day replacement accomplished at fair cost. They're honest, nice, consumer oriented owners in a business where the byword is buyer beware. I will return for next required maintenance although Chuck and Lindsay's service station is too many miles from home, but they earned my loyalty. read more

If you've read my review about Rallye Motors you might be asking: "who is the honest mechanic she mentioned?" It is Chuck - owner of this auto repair shop. When Rallye swore to me that I had a cracked rim that would require costly replacement I took the car 1 mile away to Schmidt. Now Chuck could have agreed with Rallye Mercedes and simply beat their price to gain my business. But instead he was HONEST. He was TRUTHFUL. There was no damage to the rim at all!!! In the year since I've been servicing my car at Schmidt there has never been a time that I felt cheated. This place is a gem It's a rare commodity to find an honest car repair shop. This one is tops!! read more

Go here, these guys are fantastic. Reasonable price, fast service, and general feeling of honesty. A+ 5 stars.

Outstanding in all respects. Derek arrived promptly, quickly diagnosed my situation, quoted me an exceptionally reasonable price, towed me to a service center and worked with the mechanics to get my repair started. My car was treated with utmost care throughout the process. I could not have asked for a kinder, more helpful individual to help me in the midst of a major automotive headache.
