Brennan from Williamsburg Heating and Air came yesterday to service our A/c system. It was a Sunday so there was an additional service charge which Brennan explained before making the appointment. He came on time and also called when he was on his way. He diagnosed the problem and made the repair. He was extremely professional and explained all that he did. This morning I woke up to no heat and the temp outside was 18 degrees. I called Williamsburg Heating and Air at 6:30 and someone answered immediately. Within 15 minutes I received a call from a repairman and he was at my home by 0745. The unit was up and running by 0845. I am beyond impressed with this company and recommend them highly for any heating or air conditioning needs. read more

i'm very unsatisfied. I had a service call yesterday I do believe part of my services to look at my whole unit. Make sure what's working what's not the only thing I got diagnostic on was my compressor and saying it need to be replaced when it's funny that my fan was not even moving the whole time he was diagnosed diagnosing the problem with the unit so he told me that my compressor need to be replaced but my fan never moved never mention that whatsoever if one don't work, the other one should send my fan should've been moving in working but he was too focused on the compressor not working when really he should've been looking at the motor blower while it was not moving when he played with a lot of wires while he was here which I felt very uncomfortable with that he also told me that insured me that my compressor was nothing wrong with it and then he goes and tells me that I need a new compressor then he starts dropping estimate told me about a new unit. and when he left here, my thermostat I was having issues with it was coming on for like five minutes before the fuse blew now does not come on at all since he played with all the wires I feel like that I didn't get a f read more

You can draw your own conclusion - the following is fact w/o my prejudice opinion. In May 2020, we decided to have our dual zone ACs & furnaces replaced. We rcvd two estimates: locally via Williamsburg Heating & Air Conditioning in Toano & Home Depot (who contracts RS Andrews from Southside/Chesapeake). Williamsburg Heating & Air Conditioning wanted to use all existing ducts, keep both air handlers and replace both 2-ton units with two new 2-ton units. I insisted that I felt the upstairs unit was too small to handle Virginia summers but Williamsburg Heating & Air Conditioning insisted 2-ton were sufficient. RS Andrews' agreed with my assessment, & their estimate included a 2.5 ton unit for the upstairs (2-ton downstairs), enlarging the upstairs air handler to accommodate the 2.5 ton unit, increasing the size of the ducting & adding a new duct to the hottest room, and reconfiguring another duct (more straight-line flow) to make cooling of the 2nd hottest room more efficient. Despite being more expensive, we decided to contract RS Andrews as we felt we'd be getting new units but have the "same" excessive heat issues with the Williamsburg Heating & Air Conditioning estimate. Since Williamsburg Heating & Air Conditioning is a hometown business and we had really wanted to do business with the hometown company, I called the owner and spoke about why we were choosing Home Depot/RS Andrews (advising that despite being more expensive, they agreed that additional work would provide a better outcome). The owner of Williamsburg Heating & Air Conditioning even thanked me, he said "people never take the time to call back to explain & provide us feedback" and he was "impressed". He also said "if you ever need service or routine maintenance, we'd love your business". Fast forward to June 2021, 13-months later. Our downstairs (direct electrical power) digital thermostat lost power and the downstairs AC was offline. I tried all of the routine resets but I could not get the thermostat & unit back on so I made calls looking for a same day service call. Being a Friday, RS Andrews could not come to Toano until next Monday so I called Williamsburg Heating & Air Conditioning. After getting a confirmed appointment via a technician, 20-minutes later the owner called me. He stated "I specifically remember you because I helped [the technician] with the estimate. I can't believe RS Andrews won't service you ... you could have gone with a local hometown company ... but it was a slap in the face that you paid more to someone out of town. We prefer not to service your unit, you need to call RS Andrews & have them service their own unit because we will not be servicing it". read more

Good customer service was once an expectation. This is no longer the case in this country. It has become the exception, not the expectation. I can't begin to tell you all the experiences of poor or non-existent customer service my wife and I have had in the past year. We firmly believe in supporting small business, which is one of the reasons we chose Williamsburg Heating and Air Conditioning to install our new HVAC system in February 2018. We could not have made a better choice. The customer service we have needed since its installation has been prompt and professional. While on vacation this month, a neighbor monitoring our house informed us our air conditioning was not working. I called your company from Atlanta to get a service scheduled upon our return home. Your representative gave us an appointment time the morning after we arrived home. The service tech, Seth Betler, arrived in the time frame window that we were given and immediately conducted a diagnostic evaluation of the system. He discovered the AC compressor shorted out. He told us the compressor had to be replaced and would be covered under the warranty. Our first question was, "When do you think it can be installed?" He told us that Williamsburg Heating and Air Conditioning did not keep compressors in their parts inventory and he would need to get one from the distributor in Newport News. He made a phone call and found out that the distributor did not have one in stock. He said they would have to order one from the factory in Arkansas and it would not be here for 5 or 6 days. He would call when it arrived to schedule the installation. Needless to say, we were frustrated that we would be without air conditioning in 90-degree temperatures for 5-6 days. Customer service is a priority at your business! Within 90 minutes of leaving our house, Seth called to say that after making numerous phone calls, he had located a compressor in Elizabeth City, NC. In addition, he convinced the supplier to meet him half way to deliver the compressor and he would have it installed at our house that same afternoon. In today's world, that is INCREDIBLE customer service. In our eyes, the sign of a smart CEO is the quality of people with which he surrounds himself to make a successful business. Seth Betler was a great hire and I recommend that he be named employee of the year!! Mr. Johnson, we plan to tell this story to everyone we know and sing the praises of Williamsburg Heating and Air Conditioning, as it is well deserved. We plan on leaving on-line reviews wherever we can to let people know for their HVAC needs there is only one company they can trust and depend on: Williamsburg Heating and Air Conditioning. Called for service this morning and Brennan arrived early this afternoon. It took him less than 5 minutes to discover what was causing the fan motor vibration. Brennan was excellent and listen to my description of the issue. I have used Williamsburg HVAC to service our HVAC system for the past 2 years and rate their service as reasonably priced and excellent on performance and knowledgeable service technicans. read more

Had a "fan timer" start to occasionally not work on my heat pump. Clearly described the symptoms to the tech, who failed to find anything wrong. Charged me for the service. Called another company who knew exactly what the problem was before even showing up, and came and fixed it. If you have a tough problem, you might want to call someone else. read more

Would rate at no stars if possible. Found this company though Rheems "Find a Pro". I used their "Book Now" on the morning of 5/28/2019. Then tried to call. Got an inaudible recording, then the line disconnected. Tried once again, same thing. As of the time of posting this review, NO CALL BACK!! I have been working with co several times. 5 years ago I believe it was under warranty. The y had to put freon in. 2016 2017 came out and filled it with freon and said their may be a leak said they couldn't find one. I don't think they even tried 2017 Came out 2 more times. Had to put in freon again. I went by the store and spoke to the manager and asked why I have to keep putting freon in. He told me I may be lossing freon during the fall. That my ac should last 3 more years. He told me if I had to replace it. The cost would be around $10000-15000 to replace. He sent another worker to check. Now this person found a leak and got a quote to replace coil. He put freon in the ac again. I have asked for a quote to replace it and never got one. I was given a quote 1875 to replace the coil. What I don't understand why it took so so long for them to look for a leak. I have paid a lot for freon. And never was a leak looked for. By anyone in his co. I wonder if that had been covered under the warranty. Finally hired another company, they came out in two days to replace my full system for 2859 He told me that the coils had rusted out completely, the first co. Never said anything about them being that. I would not recommend Williamsburg a& c. I feel I have really put out too much money for something that should have been found and fixed the first. I feel I should be reimbursed for all my cost since it is not repaired properly from the beginning. read more

Setup an appointment days in advance and given a two hour window. No phone call and no service technician showed up. Called company and asked what's going on and advised it would've been nice and respectful to have received a call if not prompt and a no show. Then cancelled as there are other HVAC companies nearby that value integrity and are reliable. Someone called back and stated they were running late and they had called me but then they realized they had the wrong number! Really? It wouldn't have mattered if they were on time! Two things in life with dealing with a customer service profession ......reasons and results .. when you agree on something especially basic time of service, results is what is anticipated not excuses!!! Use another HVAC company my suggestion for if quality of work is like their attention to detail on basic time and integrity then good luck being satisfied!! read more

FANTASTIC! Honest, reliable, fair, knowledgable, responsive, courteous, hard working! Just some of the attributes that come to mind about WB HVAC. Had them replace both of my old heat pumps and air handlers. They replace one and then I had them replace the one for the 2nd floor - because they did such a good job on the first one.
