Good customer service was once an expectation. This is no longer the case in this country. It has…read morebecome the exception, not the expectation. I can't begin to tell you all the experiences of poor or non-existent customer service my wife and I have had in the past year. We firmly believe in supporting small business, which is one of the reasons we chose Williamsburg Heating and Air Conditioning to install our new HVAC system in February 2018. We could not have made a better choice. The customer service we have needed since its installation has been prompt and professional. While on vacation this month, a neighbor monitoring our house informed us our air conditioning was not working. I called your company from Atlanta to get a service scheduled upon our return home. Your representative gave us an appointment time the morning after we arrived home. The service tech, Seth Betler, arrived in the time frame window that we were given and immediately conducted a diagnostic evaluation of the system. He discovered the AC compressor shorted out. He told us the compressor had to be replaced and would be covered under the warranty. Our first question was, "When do you think it can be installed?" He told us that Williamsburg Heating and Air Conditioning did not keep compressors in their parts inventory and he would need to get one from the distributor in Newport News. He made a phone call and found out that the distributor did not have one in stock. He said they would have to order one from the factory in Arkansas and it would not be here for 5 or 6 days. He would call when it arrived to schedule the installation. Needless to say, we were frustrated that we would be without air conditioning in 90-degree temperatures for 5-6 days. Customer service is a priority at your business! Within 90 minutes of leaving our house, Seth called to say that after making numerous phone calls, he had located a compressor in Elizabeth City, NC. In addition, he convinced the supplier to meet him half way to deliver the compressor and he would have it installed at our house that same afternoon. In today's world, that is INCREDIBLE customer service. In our eyes, the sign of a smart CEO is the quality of people with which he surrounds himself to make a successful business. Seth Betler was a great hire and I recommend that he be named employee of the year!! Mr. Johnson, we plan to tell this story to everyone we know and sing the praises of Williamsburg Heating and Air Conditioning, as it is well deserved. We plan on leaving on-line reviews wherever we can to let people know for their HVAC needs there is only one company they can trust and depend on: Williamsburg Heating and Air Conditioning. We recognize your team went above and beyond for us, and we can't thank them enough. We appreciate you and your staff for coming to our rescue on Friday, July 23, 2021. With gratitude, Phillip and Alison E.

We had a leak coming from the bottom of our air handler, so I called A/C Masters -- a company we…read morehad used before and trusted -- to come out to our home in Newport News on June 13. Unfortunately, this experience was disappointing. While the technician who came was knowledgeable and professional, the issue lies in how the company conducts business, which ultimately left me $174 out of pocket for a service that didn't resolve the problem. After diagnosing the issue, the technician said the P-trap was clogged and vacuumed the drain line. She said water appeared to be draining properly and noted that some light dripping might continue due to wet insulation -- but we were relieved that the problem seemed resolved. Just a few hours later, the leak returned -- same spot, same amount. When I called the company the next day, I was told the line might still be clogged and that they could come back out, but I'd be charged another $85 labor fee -- even though the first visit didn't resolve the issue. I also learned their advertised "30-day guarantee" only waives the $89 diagnostic fee, not the labor, even for the exact same unresolved problem. After doing my own research, I realized that since they already knew the drain line was underground and made of metal, a quick vacuum was unlikely to solve the problem long-term especially because we don't have a condensation pump. It made me question and feel like they were just trying to get me to spend more money piece by piece. I tried speaking with the manager, Robert, before leaving a review to resolve the issue but was told it's simply "company policy" to charge a labor cost again. I won't be using A/C Masters in the future, and I would caution others to seek a company that stands behind their work and prioritizes fixing the problem the first time -- not charging again for unresolved issues.

They cleaned out my crawl space, removed all mold, and installed a 20mm vapor barrier with a 20-year warranty. They worked efficiently and made sure everything was done right. I went into the crawl space with them multiple times, and they clearly explained what they had done at each stage. They also gave me great advice on preventative maintenance I can do myself to keep things in top shape. Yes, it was an investment--but 100% worth it. The quality of their work has increased the equity in my home and will save me money in the future. I've gone with cheap contractors before and ended up paying more in the long run due to poor work. This was the opposite experience. Huge shoutout to Ben, RJ, and Jon--if I need more work done on my home, I'll be asking for them by name. Highly recommend The Drying Company!

Once they completed the job the existing dehumidifier would not come on. They sent another technician and we were told we needed a new dehumidifier the old one is no longer good. They came out 5/14 with the new dehumidifier and fast forward to 7/16 we have water in our crawl space again only to be told today 7/17/2025 we need a sump pump. WOW!!!! My thing is you would have thought that all this could have been avoided had someone reviewed and looked at everything prior. I left a message for Joe Hogge at 9:30am and it's after 1pm and I have yet to get a call back. I do not recommend this company... STAY AWAY!!!!!!!
