I ain't no Martha Stewart. Hell, I'm not even Jimmy Stewart. But every once in a while I'll swing by this Williams-Sonoma location and shop for my kitchen. And every once in while, I'll find that culinary gem I never knew I was always looking for. On my most recent visit, I discovered a Chef'n Salad Dressing Emulsifier (see posted photo). Whoa - where has this device been my whole life?! You just pour your dressing ingredients into the bottle, squeeze the trigger, and the emulsification process begins. Within seconds you'll have the perfect salad dressing and consistency. Plus, this device has measurements on the bottle (so no need for extra measurement cups or storage bottles/Tupperware). It's a mean, lean salad dressing machine. And when you're done, it's super easy to clean. Best of all, this emulsifier is just $15 and some change. Total deal!

However, after our first meeting with Manon Demers, we decided to move forward with the remodel. We came in with some ideas of our own--such as navy blue lower cabinets with white upper cabinets--and Manon was able to enhance our vision by presenting excellent samples and offering thoughtful, practical guidance. She visited our home before demolition, helped us visualize cabinet and appliance placement, and prepared detailed plans for the project. We relied heavily on Manon's expertise for the cabinetry and countertops, while selecting our own appliances, cabinet hardware, lighting, and wall treatments. The project planning began in June and was completed by the end of October. Working with Manon was a pleasure throughout the entire process. She is knowledgeable, professional, and highly experienced. We are extremely pleased with the results and highly recommend Gilman Kitchens and Baths for anyone seeking a beautiful, well-executed kitchen remodel.

I am a certified Project Manager and licensed Mechanical Engineer, so I know what good project execution looks like. MKC is the best residential contractor I have worked with in my 30 years of home ownership. MKC employs a process with heavy emphasis on planning the work up front followed by quality execution by the craftsmen. Scott (owner of MKC) honestly strives to land each project with the highest quality work done at a reasonable price. My project was mainly to remodel a kitchen and master bathroom. Additionally, we removed two walls (one load bearing), replaced 1/2 the house windows, addressed two different legacy structural issues, replaced fireplace, all interior doors, all baseboard and trim, all flooring and about a dozen other upgrades (add ceiling fans, add additional door, replace garage door header, toilet in 2nd bath, etc.). Basically, I received a new house. The work was completed in a little over 4 months as planned adding time for the new scope and structural issues. The cost was as expected. MKC costs were nearly exact to expected. Material costs were higher than planned due to our selection of materials vs assumed. The quality of the work was outstanding whether it was by MKC employees or subcontractors. I highly recommend the MKC team for a kitchen or major home remodel.

The bathroom was completely transformed. What started as a very dated space is now modern, clean, and beautifully finished. The attention to detail in the tile work, fixtures, lighting, and overall layout really shows the quality of their craftsmanship. It honestly feels like a spa compared to what we had before. They also repaired and rebuilt sections of our deck where there was structural rot. The work was done carefully and correctly, and the finished deck looks fantastic. A special thank you to our project manager, Ari, who was excellent throughout the process. Renovations inevitably come with a few surprises, but Ari handled everything professionally and made sure issues were addressed quickly and properly. His communication and follow-through made the whole project run smoothly. Finished product is beautiful, but the process and project management is not as advertised…read more We met with 5 different contractors to get bids for our small bathroom remodel project. Green Bay Remodeling was the highest bid by 20-50%. We selected Green Bay because they pitched themselves as a turnkey solution and I would simply sit back and just make payments. In reality I needed to be involved constantly to keep this project on track. A few examples: - Sourcing: In the sales meeting, we were told that materials would be sourced by them from their "catalog" and shipped from "their warehouse". I liked the simplicity of that, but in reality, they order things from online vendors like Wayfair and Home Depot and shipped directly to my home. This turned my garage space into their warehouse for nearly 2 months. Also, it is just bad business to ship heavy, breakable things - for example, we had 2 toilets delivered to our home in giant packages - both of which were broken on arrival. (there's a hardware store less than a mile from my home that has toilets in stock) - Communication: We were promised daily updates, this did happen once the construction work started because they often wanted a payment, but we went for long times not hearing during planning process. - Timeline was set by PM as 4 weeks from sign date for permits and planning (closer to 8 weeks due to absences and avoidable omissions on permit application) and 4 weeks for construction (that was met with multiple issues and creative workarounds deployed). - Presence: We understood the PM would be present on the site and would be the main point of contact, but he was missing at key times - including during an inspection with the city permitting department - Attention to detail: Materials were sourced late or incorrectly (a 60 inch vanity ordered rather than 72inch) and broken materials were not identified immediately. We made the construction timeline but only with some creative solutions and lots of legwork. Overall, the guys at GBR are nice, charming people and the finished product looks good. But I give that credit to the amazing sub-contractor who completed the entire project. He covered for their issues and went out of his way to solve problems so that the finished product looked amazing and was finished on time. I would give this person a 5 star review, but I would not engage GBR in the future as this does not reflect value for money.

Bailey was very approachable and knowledgeable. He provided stylistic and customized insights to help us create great designs for both the kitchen and the bathrooms. KZ was one of the reasons my recent remodel finished in four weeks…read more I started at KZ early in the process after visiting a few other stores and feeling both underwhelmed by their selections and overwhelmed by figuring out what I actually needed. On that first visit I met Bailey, who ended up becoming a key part of the project. I came in with measurements from my contractor, rough layout ideas, and a general sense of what I wanted: drawers instead of mostly base cabinets, quartz countertops, and a way to turn a small, dysfunctional kitchen into something thoughtfully designed with proper prep space. Bailey took those requests and my contractor's initial mockups and developed a layout. I was immediately impressed by his thoughtfulness and attention to detail. He also included things I would not have known to ask for, including a blind corner pull out "peanut" cabinet that turned dead space into some of the most usable storage in the kitchen. He explained his decisions when asked and found solutions as needed, for example suggesting a microwave cabinet when I mentioned not knowing where to put that. I left excited about the project and hopeful it could actually come together. He was consistently responsive to my many questions afterward. He sent estimates for different options so I could compare costs, such as a 4-inch versus full-height backsplash, and shared renderings of the cabinet and countertop combination. Seeing the space rendered that early was a significant moment for me. His involvement continued well beyond placing the order. As the project progressed, Bailey made sure everything was delivered properly, communicated directly with my contractor, answered questions as they came up, kept suggesting ways to improve the project, and made sure everything was set up correctly for countertop templating. The fabricator, Rafael, was also excellent and did a beautiful job. He and Bailey suggested adding another slab of quartz so we could do a full waterfall on the exposed ends of the counter. I took their advice and I am very glad I did. It made a huge difference and made that part of the design feel complete. I was also happy with KZ's pricing and selection. I visited four cabinet and countertop stores, and KZ had the best overall selection I found. Their prices were extremely competitive without sacrificing features or quality. The cabinets have plywood boxes, soft-close doors and drawers, and full-extension drawers, and they arrived fully assembled rather than flat-packed. My contractor had specifically told me not to buy RTA cabinets and these were straightforward for him to install. All of my other interactions with KZ were positive too. Delivery drivers called ahead, other employees in the store were helpful, and the factory expedited part of my order for an additional charge when my fast schedule required it. One thing worth mentioning for anyone considering KZ is the type of experience they provide. This is not a full-service design firm where someone makes every selection and manages every detail for you. I had to be a little assertive on my first visit because there were a limited number of design/sales reps available, but once I connected with Bailey the experience was excellent. You will get the most out of KZ if you come in with measurements and some idea of what you want, are willing to look around and give input, and are okay following up with questions. When I did reach out, Bailey was very responsive. Some practical things to know: they do not offer financing, some costs such as fabrication are settled separately and in cash, and delivery is extra if you cannot pick up the order yourself. Mine was around $500 for 18 cabinets plus panels and hardware, delivered about an hour away. I think some of the savings come from this model, but it helps to have the right expectations. My entire remodel took about four weeks, including a full primary bathroom and extensive changes throughout the house, with the KZ order placed roughly one week before construction began. A lot of the credit goes to my excellent contractor, but KZ's responsiveness, timely deliveries, and efficient work were a major factor in keeping things moving. It was night and day compared with buying my other materials through large home improvement stores. When I had questions or concerns, it usually took a simple text to Bailey to resolve them. I am super happy with the finished kitchen and with my experience at KZ. I recommend them to anyone looking for cabinets or countertops, and I am especially grateful to Bailey and Rafael for how much care they put into my project.

I used to live in this neighborhood so was very familiar with the location of this store even though I had never been inside. I decided that I wanted to "shop local" vs purchasing everything online. I have my new kitchen and bathroom designed, the electricians are coming and I am ready to make my selections. I take time from my day to drive over to this place in my old neighborhood. When I arrived, there was another client ahead of me. That was no problem. I wasn't in a hurry as I had set this time aside for this purpose. I was looking around the room and the woman working there asked me what I needed and when I told her, "a lot of lighting" she let me know that she wouldn't be available to help me for 20 minutes or so. I said, that's fine I can wait. Then she asked me if I had made a list of what I needed and what purpose/function I expected from each light fixture. Ummmm. I have a list in my head. I haven't written down a list. I am not a list making type of person but I know my spaces. Then she tells me I need to go home and make a list and come back when I have it because otherwise, I am going to "fall in love" with items out of my budget. Huh?? I was so confused! She had no idea what my budget was. She literally sent thousands of dollars in unsolicited business out the door. This place must not need new clients. That's ok. There are plenty of places that will happily take my money. I walked into an appliance store today and they were thrilled to show me their inventory and assist me in my purchases. It was a stark contrast to my experience at Lunaria. EDIT: To respond to the response. You are not being truthful with what happened. NEVER did you infer that I step out for coffee and come back. I WAS the person who asked for catalogs to look through while waiting and you specifically told me that would be a waste of time without a list. Even your client seemed to pick up on the fact that you were about to lose a customer and she then said, "Here, here are some catalogs if you would like to view them." and that is when I said, "She just said that would be a waste of time and is not her process." If you're going to tell the story, please be honest about what occurred. Super frustrating experience considering I set time aside to come view some lighting and even was very clear that I was in no hurry and didn't mind waiting for you to finish. You made it obvious, you didn't want to speak to me unless I had a list of lighting with what I expected each light to achieve. Those were almost your EXACT words. Not mine. 2nd EDIT: I just saw in your biz description, "Appointments are recommended." This says it all. You could have simply told me, "I would love to help you but it sounds like you have a big project that will be time consuming and I will need you to schedule an appointment. In the meantime, it would be helpful for my process if you make a list..." That would have been much more productive instead of coming across as dismissive and patronizing. As for misrepresenting what occurred, there really is no excuse for that.
