Close to 2 years ago I came in to return/exchange a gift I got from the store, and she seemed disappointed/irritated that I would want to return or exchange something from her store. I also didn't realize it was an hour till closing and as I was browsing she was following me around the store impatiently (I didn't ask her to help me pick out anything) and just responding shortly to anything I glanced at or picked up. After maybe 10 minutes of that she finally said "sorry we are closing in a hour, so unless you plan on buying something I can give u a gift receipt." She then created the gift receipt manually on some receipt form and the whole time is condescendingly telling me that they have NO digital records of any store transactions so i better not lose this receipt, okay? And I better come back in soon to buy something and not wait forever. The entire interaction just made me feel small for no reason at all.

The shop is also small with a compact inventory of dinner ware, glasses, kitchenware, and home decor. The price points were not inexpensive but also not outrageously priced. The merchandise is beautiful as well as the fresh flowers. However I was not impressed with the customer service. There were two associates but their attention was all towards a regular customer. I stayed long enough to walk about the tiny shop. Not a word from them to me or the Hubs. We left soon after.

If she could not do something nice for the budget I would have been much happier just walking away with the ranunculus.

Update: The experience got worse--the staff didn't even bother to properly wrap a candle, and by the time I got home, it was already broken. After reading other reviews on Yelp, I realized this doesn't seem like a one-off situation. Many others have had similar experiences, which makes it seem like this kind of unwelcoming behavior is a pattern.

Especially on the weekends, there seem to be more customers than parking spaces. Plus since there is only one way in and out, and the street has no designated turn lane, it causes a bottleneck on entering and exiting. Heck it even takes awhile to walk from the parking lot into the shop because the cars just don't seem to want to stop for pedestrians. Too busy jockeying for a space.

He was very patient with me and pulled out a variety of leather samples to show me and talked about what size chair that works for me. Having actual floor samples helped me understand what worked and what didn't. Tom was extremely helpful in my case. I highly recommend you see for yourself. Customer service was friendly and far from the negative reviews. I do have to say that the negative reviews were directed at a specific person who was not there when I visited.
