I may be a bit late to this review. Hell, I don't know if Yelp was around in 2007? Either way,…read morelet's go back a few years. In the spring of 2007 my dentist in the Fredneck area recommended I have my remaining wisdom teeth removed and recommended Dr. Michael Will, who just so happen to have his office 3 miles from home. Bonus. I made my appointment and went for the consult. I don't remember this consult very much as having teeth pulled was pretty common for me. (Before I had braces I needed 10 [yes, ten] baby teeth pulled.) It was when I was lying in the chair and he finished discussing the teeth removal that my memory really kicks in. At the very end he asks me, "do you often wake up in the middle of the night and you're not breathing?" What?! Yes! How'd he know?? He goes on to tell me he has much more education than just oral surgery and goes into how looking in my nose he can tell I likely sleep poorly. Bingo. Nailed it on the head. Dr. Will could have told me about the procedure he'd like to do to improve my sleep, but he doesn't. That's the easy move and that's not him. To ensure my apnea is mechanical, versus neurological or some other version, he sends me to do a sleep study and and have more tests which take about 2-3 weeks. I don't mind this because one, I've never had surgery; it scares me and two, he's being thorough ensuring that his procedure will correct my problematic sleep. I eventually have the procedure and was thrilled. I remember laying down on the surgical table, then I have a vague memory of goofing off in a wheelchair, then I'm sitting on my neighbors couch and their kids are putting stickers all over my sweatshirt. Zero pain. None, only mild discomfort for about 4 days. On day 4 I go back to his office and Dr. Will proceeds to remove roughly 325 feet of gauze from my nostrils. (I may be exaggerating.) While it didn't hurt, it was certainly a VERY strange sensation having that much packed gauze pulled from your nose like a clown pulls scarfs from his sleeve. It's now 2019 and as he told me back in 2007, I may need the same surgery once again. I'm here leaving a note as I prep for the same surgery far away from Maryland. If I were still in the USA I'd 100% go back to Dr. Will for the work he performed.

Dr Adam is such a fine man. I admire him tremendously. He and his father, Dr Bill, have always taken extraordinarily good care of my teeth, which is no easy feat! I can happily smile at everyone I see with my restored smile! Shout out to Liz for the excellent cleanings and advice, and Kimberly for her beautiful smile and warmth. Plus they did not discuss with me the treatment they said I required. they instructed their staff to only make my appointment for what they required. they made false statements (in writing) saying I wanted "free treatments" b/c I wanted to get my twice/yr prophylactic treatments that I PAY through my health insurance. that's not "free treatment" to me. then made false statements about my gums to say I required a particular treatment w/o discussion with me. I happen to have a medical background specifically in molecular biology. When I disagreed with Dr. Staub about my molars and had her bring up x-rays from ~7-yrs ago to demonstrate no change, and that my molars are not dead. I was asked to not return by letter basically stating they wanted patients that agreed with them. so they don't want patients with knowledge??? I did respond to their letter but received no return response. no one should be a patient of a doctor where there is no patient/doctor discussion.

Emergency - crown came off Thursday evening and of course my dentist is closed Fri-Sun!…read more TotallySmiles took me in Friday morning as a new patient. Dr. Steven and Tasha provided great care; the front office all were professional, cheerful, and helpful. Great care and great vibes!

If you are getting a crown, go elsewhere! Although it may seem nice that this practice makes crowns…read moreinhouse instead of sending out to a lab, making the crown also depends on the skill of the dentist. I've never had issues in the past with lab made crowns. This is the first time I've ever had a Cerec crown, and I have had pain for over two months. Also, I can FEEL this Cerec crown in my mouth constantly - it is as if there is something stuck against my cheek or on the tooth. It is causing me to bite the inside of my check. Plus, it is painful to try to chew even soft foods on it, the tooth/root hurts if I touch it with anything (tongue, finger, etc). Going through this pain, I did some online research on Cerec crowns, and there are a lot of issues with these type of crowns (most of which has to do with the skills of the dentist). The Cerec crown being too "bulky" so that feels like something stuck to your tooth or cheek is a complaint that people have had, which has to do with dentist not being skilled enough to fit it correctly. If you research Cerec crowns, you have to also be careful not to just read "advertisements" disguised as articles written by dental practices that purchased an expensive Cerec machine and want to recoup their investment! Since getting the new crown, I went back to Dr. Anolik's office three times because of the pain. The third time, Dr. Steven Anolik referred me to an endodontist, Dr. Jason Fields - who apparently is Anolik's go-to endodontist for referrals. He said the whole reason for the pain is that I am grinding my teeth. This didn't make sense to me - I might grind a little or clench a little, but I had gotten another crown on the same side years ago and never had this kind of pain. So, I switched to a different dental practice. My new dentist said that don't have a Cerec machine because of the problems with Cerec crowns. She tried doing a bite adjustment (grinding the crown down a little because it was hitting the top teeth to hard). She also referred me to an endodontist, and said to go if I am still having pain in a couple of weeks. The pain continued, so I saw the new endodontist, who recommended a root canal. He did the root canal, and when he got in there, he said the nerves were very inflammed (from all trauma of the crown) and some of the nerve was dead, and it was infected. That was the reason I was having this pain. Now the infection is getting treated, then he will finish the root canal. Then I'll go back to the new dentist and see about replacing or fixing the ill-fitting crown. I am writing this long review because I totally regret having walked into this dental practice in the first place. If Dr. Steven Anolik had told me BEFORE recommending the crown that they are using an inhouse Cerec machine to make it, instead of sending it out to a lab, I would have had a chance to research it before the appointment. But I did not know until I was in the chair for the appointment to get the crown. Would I have researched it and decided against it? I don't know for certain. But I believe patients should have the choice and have all the facts. Thus, I am writing this review for anyone who happens to see it, who happens to go to this practice and they tell you that you need a crown. At least you would have the choice to do some research on your own and decide if you want to risk having the dentist make it inhouse. Another thing I learned through this experience. The endodontist looked at all the x-rays and intraoral photos of that one tooth. It had a crack on both sides, which is why a crown was necessary. But he said that he would have done the root canal first, and then do the crown. There was a big risk of the trauma to the nerves, the inflammation, and a deeper crack that could not be detected. So doing the root canal first would have saved me all of this pain and multiple appointments and multiple painful shots in the mouth.

Liked when when Dr. Janbaksh spotted and removed some bracket cement that was left on my teeth from braces and trusted her to do a filling along the gum line. Some time after this the filling fell out and when I asked about coming in to get it replaced, was told that any number of habits could have caused the filling to fall out and that it wasn't necessarily their work and that I would have to pay $100 if I wanted to get it replaced, all while never being asked to come in for a physical evaluation. Meanwhile I had had multiple fillings done by other dentists and none had fallen out before (or since for that matter). This was the only "holistic" dental office accepted under my insurance at the time so when I first came here I really wanted to like it. Except the option to do bloodwork to check for biocompatible materials there were no questions or treatment options offered to me that were in line with holistic care. Came a few times for some concerns that ended up being less serious than expected and was literally told "do you not have anything better to do than come in here?" while sitting in her chair. This wasn't even in a moment of conflict, this is just how she felt comfortable speaking to patients apparently. Before this she was consistently low energy and not very pleasant but to speak to a patient like that is next level. After I stopped going to her and I started going to NIHA (where she is now apparently) I spoke with someone there about my experiences and they weren't surprised. Those in health care, especially holistic health care, should be the first to prioritize treating patients properly. Not this.

Horrible bedside manners. My sister went to visit this doctor and this doctor thinks she knows…read moreeverything and didn't listen to her concerns regarding her possibly needing a root canal she went on to attempt to "explain" things to her just for her to be right in the end.. the dentist stated she would need a root canal if the healing bond doesn't stick. She expressed her discomfort with the drilling and the dentist then went on to critique whether or not she had ate and said she should've ate before to make sure the anesthesia worked, she was never told that prior to her appointment. They didn't make her feel comfortable and the dental assistant was entirely too rough and evasive when putting things in her mouth to assist the dentist. I would not recommend this place at all, she was on the verge of tears due to the lack of compassion and understanding. It was a very traumatizing experience and to top it off .. the dentist turned into a dietician and proceeded to tell her about her diet. 0/10 wouldn't recommend this place unless you want to be traumatized.
