I was then told I needed a root canal. I chose to get a second opinion. I was told I don't need a root canal, that the crown was too high. I'm beginning to wonder about the cavities they saw in first visit. They said nine and I haven't had that many in 65 years.

The turnover rate is ferocious with Teitler. What is even worse, the only dentists that remained were a couple of dentists I didn't like. As we age teeth develop problems and Teitler's inexperienced and ever changing crew did not address the changes in my mouth. I was working and fully insured and would have paid virtually nothing for Teitler to fix the issues but they did not even mention any of the issues. Worse, they sounded like they were guessing when I complained of pain as to which tooth was the problem. I got a new dentist. They showed me in great detail all of the unaddressed issues. Since I am retired the cost of fixing all of the issues which Teitler's revolving carousel of rookies missed or chose not to address will cost me out of pocket around $5,000.00!!!!!!!!! I started going to this practice as a teenager, and the experience left me with lasting anxiety about dentistry. One of the worst hygienists, I believe named Victoria, told me I had multiple cavities, gingivitis, and even suggested I could develop dementia because of it. Then, Dr. McKane came in and assured me I had no cavities and that everything looked fine. On another occasion, when I asked Dr. McKane about dental bonding to align my teeth, he immediately tried to sell me veneers. He even brought in his son to show me his veneers, saying, "See, I replaced his front four teeth--they look so natural," after I had already declined the procedure. The last time I visited, around age 14 or 15, an older blonde hygienist told my boyfriend that if he smelled anything when he kissed me, it was because I didn't brush my tongue. Not only was this unprofessional and unnecessary, but I was also going through a difficult time and had neglected my hygiene. Instead of advising me properly, she chose to humiliate me in front of him.
