I had a crown fall off a tooth while flossing in the morning before work, so I drove directly to their office and was sitting in the parking lot when it the office opened at 8am. Dr. Dechter immediately sat me in a chair, examined the situation, created a new crown and had me out of the office within an hour and a half. The crown even looked better than the one I had before. Dr. Moy and his colleagues are THE BEST! I say this after having gone through a series of dentists whose only concern seemed to be how much they could charge me, and a couple of these dentists were less than competent, causing more damage to my teeth. Dr. Moy and his staff are kind, gentle, and comforting when a visit to the dentist can be a scary and painful experience. His rates are also reasonable, and his staff is willing to work with you with reasonable payment plans. I have been to Dr. Moy's office twice now for treatments, and I am very happy and confident with his work and the work of his hygienists and will continue to visit them for my dental needs. I visited Dechter and Moy Dentistry on December 18th as a new patient. My appointment was with Dr. Dechter. I arrived early for my appointment because I needed to complete my paperwork. No problem, Dr. Dechter, the office, and the front desk staff were friendly and assisted me in getting my paperwork and answering questions. I explained to Dr. Dechter my fear of going to a dentist and he was patient and understanding. He answered all of my questions and explained in detail what to expect with my first visit. I had a complete set of X-rays done on my mouth. After reviewing my x-rays, Dr. Dechter informed me that I had bone loss in my gums and referred me to a Periodontist. After getting treatment for my bone loss, I will return to Dr. Dechter for regular dental care. Dechter and Moy Dentistry dental professionals are the BEST! read more

Overrated -- they ask people to review them. Front desk staff are horrible -- snobby, curt, unprepared, unresponsive. Really terrible at basic social courtesies like eye contact or basic job functions like understanding insurance or explaining what paperwork they need. Dechter and Moy are meh -- they pop in for 30 seconds after the hygienists have done their work. Their dental hygienists are excellent, and their technology seems to work well. I think it's OK but I wouldn't recommend it to a friend -- I'd hope there's better dentistry practices out there. read more

I visited Dechter and Moy on January 24, 2024 as a returning patient. Dr. Moy has been my dentist for 10 years. Every visit with Dr. Moy is a 5-star visit. There is no waiting, and their admin team is fantastic. Florence is the best tech ever! I never make an appointment without her scheduled as my tech. Even though Dr. Moy is my primary dentist, due to conflicts with my schedule, I have scheduled visits with Dr. Dechter. He is also 5-star. I'm comfortable with either dentist. They are both friendly, on-time, and very skilled. I hate going to the dentist, but I love the Dechter and Moy team. I live in Alexandria, VA and I still travel to Silver Spring for my dentist visits. They are the best! read more

This was the first time a dentist volunteered to give me an estimate of how much the procedure would be before going forward. And he was accurate within a couple hundred dollars for a new crown on the tooth next to my molar. They were able to 3-D print or 3-D chisel from a block of enamel. I haven't been to this dentist in a while because I preferred my dental hygienist. Who is the dominatrix of plaque. But she was too busy with people in real pain to see me on short notice. I leave this review only as a potential customer. I had a crown fall out and this dentist promptly worked with me to schedule a time to put in a temporary crown and replacement within the week even though they were already booked. They also communicated that insurance wouldn't cover the replacement given it was within 5 years from original crown on same tooth. Ultimately I decided to pursue another option given the cost. Nonetheless, their prompt assistance and honest communication would make me consider them for a new crown or any endodontics work. Thanks so much! read more

Dr. Dechter is very professional. He explains everything well, and does not promote over treatment. He is professional and not money hungry as my previous dentist. This place is cleaner than I expected. They are very careful with COVID-19. Also all the tools here are disposable or sanitized well with plastic bag covered before usage. And the lady in the front desk is very helpful. I have two dental insurances, with one of them I don't even remember I have. She is very professional and responsible. She successfully applied both insurances. I finally paid $0 for my infected wisdom teeth exam and 2 sets of x-ray. read more
