I asked if my insurance would cover my X-rays, and was assured it would. A few weeks later, I received a bill for more than 5 times my regular copay amount. For an unknown reason, my primary insurance provider wasn't listed on the bill. When I called to inquire, the administrator told me that the dentist dropped my insurance provider a few weeks earlier. (This was curious, since my insurance provider was still listed on the dentist's website as a provider they work with). However, the date of my cleaning preceded that date. We agreed that my insurance carrier was removed by mistake, and they would resubmit the claim. I received another bill with late charges. Calling again, I learned that they had actually dropped my particular plan a few weeks before the date of my cleaning. But they hadn't told me, and the hygienist had assured me that my insurance would cover the X-rays. I find this behavior to be deceptive, fraudulent, and wrong. I cannot recommend such a business. If you choose to use this dentist, I recommend getting a legally-binding, contractual agreement of what you will pay prior to receiving any service.

So I tried to find a dentist who is close to my job. I found the Rubinstein Dentistry. They hygeneist was very thorough. But the kicker is the dentist. He "found" all kinds of issues with my teeth..on what needed to be done and fixed. He wanted me to schedule an appointment to work on my right side for 2.5 hours and then another appointment to work 2.5 hours on my left side. I have never had issues with my teeth. I take great care of them and always have. I told him, no thank you and swore I would never return to this practice ever again. After 6 months I went to my dentist and informed him about what Rubinstein had said, and he said that he doesn't see any issues at all. The Rubinstein visit was 2 years ago and I still don't have any issues with my teeth. The Rubinstein office just mailed me a bill to pay for my visit in Feb 2015!!!!!!! And we are in Feb 2017. I called them right away making sure they had my dental insurance. They confirmed they did. They simply never submitted the claim to the insurance and tried to bill me!!! The office manager called me back stating that they took care of my balance...but I didn't get an apology. Stay away from this office. They are only trying to make money.

6/3/22 This is not…read moreyour ordinary dental office. It certainly does not look like any dental office I've ever been to. It makes you scratch your head and ask yourself if you are in the wrong office. Lol. It's upscale, modern, and trendy. Dr. D. decorated the office herself. My previous dentist's office who I had gone to for over a decade had outdated decor and equipment. It was a breath or fresh air coming in for an appt today. It made me feel like I was at a boutique or a spa. This was my first visit and Lucy, the receptionist, and Dr. D. warmly greeted me upon arrival. When I went back to one of the rooms, Dr. D. reviewed my forms and asked questions, in particular to my night guard use. After examining my teeth, she explained why I may need referrals to a periodontist (gum recession) and orthodontist (for retainer) in the future. She then proceeded to do my bi-annual cleaning. She was thorough in her cleaning using polishing paste and fluoride. I appreciate that she told me the fluoride was $35 and asked if I wanted it as it's typically not covered by insurance once your over the age of 13. Her equipment is advanced and updated. My long-term and now retired dentist did not have a suction while he cleaned my teeth. I used to have to spit into a sink beside the chair. I'd never used it and she had to explain how to use the suction. Lol. Nor did my previous dentist have a computer and monitor over the patient's reclining examining chair to show patients images. She also has a variety of tasty flavored polishing paste and fluoride. I went with mint and pina colada. She really thought of everything. It was bright in the room as there was a problem with the shades so she offered to let me borrow a pair of sunglasses. She also asked if I wanted Vaseline for my lips which she used a Q-tip to apply on me. I guess lips can get dry while it's being worked on. Additionally, she said that some clients hate going to the dentist so she has a weighted stuff animal for patients to use, which she disinfects as needed if it's been used. Lastly, I like that text can be sent via the office phone number. I was told that is the best way to reach the office. From start to finish, I was thoroughly impressed with Dr. D's attention to detail, thoroughness, and welcoming personality. I highly recommend her!!

She makes you excited to go to the dentist, ha! Dr. D and her staff do everything they can to make you comfortable and anxiety free, to include giving me a weighed blanket. They really take the time to explain everything and no one rushes through anything. They also ensure any procedures are going to be covered by your insurance and were upfront with copay quotes so I could make a decision and follow up with scheduling an appointment. I am truly impressed and this will be my dentist office for as long as possible!
