I work as a waiter at Iron Age Korean Steakhouse in Rockville. Dr. Farzam and his family came while I was working. I was very tired and was not really in a talking mood. I wanted to get people in and out as fast as I could due to how busy it was. Dr. Farzam and his family was all in good moods despite waiting almost 2 hours to get a table. He started to ask me questions and started conversations with me. This is to tell you that Dr. Farzam has amazing character and is genuine even outside his office. We talk and I ask for some advice about my teeth. He gave me his business card and I called and got a appointment 2 days later. Dr. Farzam was really accommodating to me (i dont know if he will do this for you but he is really nice). He knew I was a broke college student and I didn't have insurance. He really HOOKED ME UP with the price. I drove to the office and there were plenty of parking. This is a huge plus. I walk into the office and it was a very comfy and clean office. I saw free water bottles were offered. I was instantly greeted by a receptionist and taken care of right away after my paperwork. This place does a good job booking the right amount of people so there are no long waits. Dr. Farzam worked on me and WOWOW... he did a great job. I got a teeth cleaning and stains removed. This was the greatest experiences I had by far at the dentist. All the staff are super nice too. I was said good morning to like 10 times this morning. I read reviews before going here and I saw reviews about Dr. Farzam pushing people to check in and write a review. Dr. Farzam did not push but he politely asked me "if your experience was good, could you help me write a review?" I think some people don't understand the tone of what is polite and what is pushy. I understand that he is trying to bring in more business and trying to run his business right. I was going to write a good review regardless if he asked me or not. I definitely recommend everyone trying Dr. Farzam out. I don't feel like I found a dentist but also a friend and a therapist. He can really change your mood. read more

I cannot say enough GREAT things about Dr. Tamami and his team. I had a dental emergency and after calling just about every dentist I could and getting rejected I stumbled upon Potomac dentistry. They agreed to see me right away and even called me when I was more than an hour late to make sure I was still coming. The office was cozy and clean, starting with the receptionist, she was very professional and kind. When it was my turn to be seen Dr. Tamami took his time and examined me, it was my first time being seen by him and he made me feel like he's been my dentist my whole life. I was so nervous and scared, but he and his team assured me and consoled me when I was in tears. Dr. Tamami was very kind and sympathetic, he assured me he would do everything possible to fix my broken tooth. Being the amazing doctor he is he even checked my face which was also injured after I told him I had not seen another doctor... that just goes to show how much he honestly cares about not just his patients but people in general. When it was time for the procedure, he made sure I was calm and ready, even consoled me when I started hysterically crying. His team worked quickly, efficiently, and in sync; the way they worked together and praised each other I was relaxed and knew everything was going to be alright. After the procedure was over my tooth looked EVEN BETTER than before, I was thrilled. If that's not enough he took mercy on me knowing I am a college student and tight on cash and blessed me with a discount. He and his team turned a traumatic experience into a blessing for me. Honestly, my smile looks better than before and I owe it all to Dr. Tamami and his people. I am forever greatful and he is now my permanent dentist. Thank you Dr. Tamami and your team! read more

I'm glad I came to yelp to write a review here because I read the other reviews and it appears most people are having the same problems as I did with this practice. I've been a long term patient of theirs and am quite familiar with how they operate. Unfortunately, this is an awful dental practice. The office is very old, not maintained well, and needs a major renovation. The dentist and his staff have complete inconsideration for their patients. Their primary goal here is to make money off of their patients, rather than treat or take care of them. I wasn't feeling well and called them to re-schedule my appointment to which they demanded I pay their $45 cancellation fee. This fee was never ever communicated to me in all my time being a patient there, and furthermore, after being such a long term patient, they didn't even have the decency to waive my fee. On top of that, I told them I didn't want to get anyone else sick in the office so it's better for me to not come in, but they said too bad that I'll have to pay the fee. This again shows complete lack of care for their other patients. I called many dental practices after that to find out that none of them have this cancellation policy. So I was forced to come in for my appointment to which Dr. Tamami confronted me on his cancellation fee, almost to the point of yelling. Then his staff was joining in and it was a huge attack against me in the office. I wish someone had warned me about this practice other than what I had heard about it before joining them, or I never would've joined. There are many wonderful dentists in the Potomac area so please do yourself a huge favor and go to those rather than Potomac Dentistry, as you will not have a positive experience here. read more

I'm relatively new to the area and I thought I should be a grown up and go to the dentist after 4 or 5 years. I found Dr. Tamani through Yelp and figured he seemed like a good choice. On my first visit I got lost and didn't expect his practice to be in an actual house. Walking up the steps onto the porch gave me a welcoming feeling and upon finally going in, I couldn't be more impressed. I'm not sure of the entire layout, but the entire house is his practice and resembles an upscale dentist's office. On meeting Dr. Tamani, he couldn't be more pleasant. He is definitely passionate about his profession and if I ever get a chance to sit down with him and his family for a dinner, I'm almost confident that 90% of the conversation would be about my teeth! But that's what you want in any medical practitioner: someone who loves what they do, and that perfectly describes Dr. Tamani! He was able to walk me through all my options, answer all my questions and informed me of all the work he needed to do. As far as his staff is concerned, they are equally pleasant and super helpful. One of the things I like is the text message reminders about upcoming appointments... that is very helpful to me especially with my busy schedule. I've been to this office about 4 times and the longest I've ever had to wait was 5 minutes. I'm happy I found this dental practice, I would definitely recommend it! Dr. Tamami is THE dentist and the only dentist I will go to. If you want the job done right and to practical perfection, he is the only dentist I would recommend. I had old work done by a previous dentist (root canals and caps) that needed to be redone and Dr. Tamami came up as always with the most technically advanced and educated solution. I was overseas when my most recent dental issue came up. I waited two months until I returned to the area so I could get it fixed by Dr. Tamami. Prices are very good especially when you consider the high quality, lasting work versus someone charging similarly for low-tech work. His is the only work that has lasted of 5 dentists I have used in this area in the last several years. I now trust my teeth and gums to only one dentist! I also recommend trying some of the natural products he offers. I tried the natural probiotic chewable tablets (your mouth has lots of germs and they can get into your heart if your gums aren't healthy). As described the dissolvable tablet prevented that terrible morning bad breath when taken at night. Also try the herbal toothpaste because it doesn't have saccharin in it like normal pastes (saccharin can cause cancer). This natural toothpaste tastes good and really scrubbed my teeth clean. BELIEVE ME, if you value yourself and your long-term dental well-being Dr. Tamami and his crew will save your teeth. He works effortlessly and knows the most cutting-edge methods. His medical knowledge surpasses even the most "old-school" dentists. All of his equipment is state of the art. If you value your dental health, this is the go-to dentist. Another dentist in DC offered to fix a mistake on my tooth free. I decided to see Dr. Tamami instead as before and my God, I'm so glad I did. This is the one area of health people don't want to skimp on and that includes quality of dentists. Dr. Tamami is a rock star. There is really no dentist I have ever seen in 30 years that has done such as quick, high-quality and painless job. DO NOT listen to the crybabies posting on this page. Dr Tamami's work is nothing short of exceptional. It seems like a lot of clients DO NOT take care of their own realities and like to find ways to complain rather than be accountable. My fiancée and I both came in for a visit and he took care of us to the fullest. He and his staff will make you feel both welcomed and cared for to the upmost levels where it is a pleasure to come back for even cosmetic work. Dental work is NOT cheap in general and Dr Tamami will work with you to make you feel comfortable and knowledgeable of the four corners of dentistry. If there is a worry he will be the first to notify you if work is necessary or not at all. It is important to have a dentist such as him (and his wonderful wife and staff) to know your dental history and create a confident plan to handle your dental reality indefinitely. He took care of questionable cavities and had my teeth looking newer than ever without anything more than a couple pinches from the localized anesthetics. I highly recommend Potomac Dentistry for all your dental needs. From the moment I called to set an appointment Farzam Tamami, the founder, and his team worked diligently with me to schedule me in as soon as possible. Fortunately they're open on Saturdays and got me in at a convenient time that day. Once there I was treated very well - they make sure to treat their clients like family. I was dreading the pain that I was sure I would endure but the process was fairly painless. The work I had done was exceptional and the numbing was painless. I was happily surprised that the pain was gone the next day. The facility was spotless, has ample free parking, and has the most updated technology. They offer many reasonable financial options and they worked with me to set me up on the best payment plan available for my budget. The staff was friendly and ensured I was comfortable while answering all my questions. After years of having seen a dentist (yes, you read that correctly), I had serious work that needed to be done. Shortly following my ENT urging me to see a dentist, I found Dr. Farzam and his practice. Fortunately, he provided a clean, friendly, and assuring environment, which is pretty important when you have reservations about going to a dental office. While I started to visit for a more urgent case, I have continued seeing him for other dental work. He fully explained the procedure and calmly stepped me through the process, educating, and answering any questions I had. Furthermore, he was accessible and open to answering questions between visits. My mouth is now feeling (and looking) better. Dr. Tamami is by far the best dentist I've had in my life. I switched dentists about 6 years ago when my business relocated to Potomac. (I switched doctors too! -- of course you want your appts to be as convenient as possible.) I was just looking for convenience - I was pleasantly surprised by Dr. Tamami and his staff being the epitome of excellence. My gums have never been healthier, my tongue is pink and uncoated (fresh breath -woohoo!), and my teeth have never been whiter, and I've never done Zoom whitening (although I want to!) Dr. Tamami's practice is the first to ever provide a tongue scraper in addition to the standard kit every visit. Every member of the staff is great at what they do. It doesn't matter who performs my cleanings, x-rays, or schedules my appointments. The service at Potomac Dentistry is first rate at every level. Now my whole family comes here! My family and I have been going to Potomac Dentistry for over 5 years. Dr. Tamami and his staff are always so pleasant and helpful. The office is very nice and clean, and conveniently located in the heart of Potomac. There is also ample free parking. My kids also enjoy their annual cleanings with the hygienist; she is very patient with them and thorough. I highly recommend Potomac Denistry for all your family's dental needs. Other family members have also become clients of the Dr. as well over the years. He and his staff run a professional, service oriented dentistry practice that is more boutique in nature. While not a run of the mill large practice, the staff is professional, caring, efficient and able to provide state of the art dentistry services. Also, the Dr. has the softest touch for those of us "who are nervous nellies" in the chair! I have been going to Dr. Farzam for almost 8 years. When I broke a couple teeth he was by far the best that took special care of me and made sure I had optimal results. His staff Jessica is kind hearted and very welcoming. I always love going to his office and his wife is a doll. He extracted one of my wisdom teeth with so much care I felt absolutely no pain. Just had my annual check up & first cleaning of 2017 with Dr. Tamami. Am a very satisfied patient of 10 years. And just found out the he now has a 3-D x-ray machine in the office; this is cutting edge technology! For me, it means no more lead aprons or lead collars! No more oversized plastic squares holding the x-ray stuffed into my mouth while the technician runs in & out of the room trying to adjust for the correct angle for my bite wings. NO MORE GAGGING! And less radiation exposure for every patient. Just step forward, bite down on a small plastic arm, press your tongue to the roof of your mouth & count to 15! I've been with Potomac Dentistry since 2013 so it's time that I wrote a review for Dr. Tamami. He and his staff have always been friendly, yet completely knowledgeable and professional. Dr. Tamami always used the most up to date technology, including a panoramic X-ray machine that uses 70% less radiation. Dr. Tamami is actually in the room while the machine is scanning your mouth. He always begins the oral exam with an evaluation of the head and neck area, your bite, the health of your tongue and the strength of your jaw action. It's not just your teeth he evaluates. Dr. Tamami always has recommendations for interesting products but never forces you to buy them. My mouth is all the better for his care. read more

I am an especially nervous dental patient, but he and his staff made my root canal treatment easy, gentle, and painless. I am happy to have found a local practice that is so full service. Dr. Tamami took care of the problem and the hygienist Ging gave me a lot of tips and guidance on how to properly care for my teeth.
