I was a little scared because root canals have such a bad rep, but thankfully I was referred by my dentist to Dr. Gamson. I was seen promptly when I arrived and felt more relaxed in just a few minutes. Dr. Gamson is gifted - finding common interests to distract patients in a charming manner - and at the same time explaining what he is doing and what to expect. Also, it's clear he's a top notch expert when it comes to root canals. I had no pain during the procedure - just a bit of sting with the shots. The root canal immediately addressed the radiating pain. I was so relieved that an experience I expected to be horrible was not - and I enjoyed Dr. Gamson's charming chatter, which distracted me from my fears. The office staff was efficient and helped me understand the insurance coverage situation. Also, the office and treatment rooms have unique art displayed that I enjoyed learning about. Anyway, I'm going back soon as I suspect another tooth needs treatment...it's nice that I know I have no reason to worry.

I went in really anxious because of past dental trauma and also in pain with an infection, and I was overthinking everything, but they were all super patient with me the whole time. Dr. Jafari kept explaining what he was doing and made sure I was okay before moving forward, which helped a lot more than I expected. Christina and the rest of the team were really kind and gentle and made the whole experience feel way less scary. Overall, I'm really grateful for how they treated me. He could have corrected that mistake simply by sending me a check, as other docs have done when the insurer made this mistake. Dr. Hsu went above and beyond in explaining every single detail and never for a moment hurried me. It was painless. I was confident that Dr. Hsu was thorough. His office staff were professional and helpful. The office itself is spotlessly clean and the procedure room has a floor to ceiling window with a beautiful view. All of these things matter to me. I was in his office four times and each time I heard the patient before me praising and thanking Dr. Hsu, profusely. It wasn't long before I was one of them. I don't have insurance and I didn't check to see if his prices are competitive. It doesn't matter. Should I require additional work, I will happily return to Dr. Hsu.

Consulting doctor recommended nitrous oxide sedation for my anxiety, which the other doctor then tried to talk me out of as he is inexperienced working with patients under sedation. The office staff did not explain the costs fully and told me that part of the cost of the procedure would be "written off" which was not reflected on my statement and I am waiting to find out if this is true or if I will be billed for this portion. Just in my initial contact with the office of Dr. Bidgoli, I could easily see the strong professionalism of the practice. It was even more so during my first appointment, especially with regard to the steps taken to ensure BOTH the safety of patient and staff during Covid. As for my time with Dr. Bidgoli, "impressive" is the best descriptor that I can offer. Her consultation was clearly rooted in the best interest of me, the patient. The admin staff was so nice; Liz and Iris treated me with respect and made me feel right at ease. My consultation was done by Dr. Luke Cantamessa. He was so thorough and listened to me stating my issues. I needed the procedure to be done right away. Luckily, Dr. Kim Menhenick had an early opening. I took it and I'm so happy that I did. She was so professional and nice and made me feel so comfortable. In fact, I didn't feel anything, no pain. She talked me through the entire procedure which helped my anxiety. They used a CBCT scan to perfectly identify where and what the problem was. Then they used this amazing machine called Gentle Wave which cleans out the inside of the tooth. Not many practices have such a machine. The assistant, Sherry, was also very professional. She handled those instruments with such ease! When the procedure was over, Dr. Menhenick went over what to expect. She also said that if I had any questions to contact the office. On my way out I grabbed a granola bar and a juice box, complimentary of course! My whole experience was top rated. No one wishes for a root canal. However, if you need one this is the practice where to do it. They have three offices; DC, Bethesda, and Rockville. The other doctors on staff seem amazing as well. Top quality all around. I've been down the root canal territory…read moremore times than I would like to admit, but Dr. S really took his time at the start to explain all the steps he was going to take, review the film with me, and was especially concentrated, deliberate, and careful during the procedure. I felt like he would have spent an hour answering my questions prior to and after the procedure if I continued, but all in, he made no assumptions on my knowledge and both he and his assistant were operating at an extremely well choreographed level that made it clear they knew what they were doing and never rushed. A place I don't really want to have to come back to... but if I need to, it would certainly be here with this Endo.
