We started going to kids smile based off a recommendation from our pediatrician. The dentist and…read morestaff are polite but the office lacks space. All of the chairs are in one area and patients don't have their own rooms. The space is tiny. Patients and staff are squeezed into one area and I feel like I'm going to bump into someone or something expensive. They really max out the space. In some ways, it's a sign that they're busy but at the same time, it just lacks personal space. It's an issue when the child next to yours is crying because they're scared that causes your child to panic. It's also an issue because parents don't have much room to stay with their younger kids. The hygienist does most of the work and the dentist just pops in at the end to make sure everything is okay. Also, scheduling is such a hassle. My daughter needed to get her cavities filled and they didn't have any availability for about 4.5 months. We also were unsatisfied with their handling of insurance/billing.

I took my grandsons for their first dental check up. They were very nervous at first but the staff…read moremade them very comfortable by explaining the whole procedure to them. They were watching a movie the whole time. At the end they got rewards and token to use at the prize machine. They had a great experience and everyone was extremely nice and very professional. I highly recommend kids smile to your family.

After the assistant properly prepped my 5 year old, the dental hygienist with little patience, did a very poor job of communicating my son for the x- ray which was hurting his mouth. Because she was marketing other services earlier, I inquired if an x-ray was required for a basic check-up and she insisisted it was. Dr. Khoi came into the room and raised his voice insisting that it had to be done or he would not sign off for the check-up. I had to ask him to lower his voice and calm down in front of my children. When things settled, we left without the x-ray or a document stating which services were completed. I can understand if the X-ray was required, but an educated doctor should know how to communicate especially in front of children. Staff should not be selling services outside of what was required. They should also be aware of how to communicate with kids at a "kids dental clinic". I never write reviews but this was by far the worst experience and I am up thinking about it a day after the incident.

I have to say, my kids were pretty happy with the visit and we even had a follow up, which went well too. They got stickers, and the techs and dentist Dr. Bhanot were all very very nice. My 2 year old made it for a full cleaning without crying until the very end. And at the time, they didn't have tvs in with the patients so that's saying a lot! We were very very happy with the visits because of the wonderful techs and doctor; close location and accepting our insurance sealed the deal. HOWEVER -- the front desk staff really leaves something to be desired. Whenever I called or spoke to them in person, they were not very friendly and even rude at times. I really didn't appreciate the way they treated us, and for that reason, when our insurance changed again, I pulled us out of that practice immediately. For a kids dental clinic, I expected more from the reception staff, but was displeased every time I interacted with them. If that doesn't bother you, go ahead, your kids will get great treatment. But you, the person that pays the bill, will not.
