Not unexpectedly, my mouth was jacked up. I had a root canal about 20 years prior, so I knew sort of what to expect. Dr. Raj is fantastic, and his team is fantastic. I am never in (unrealistic) discomfort, have my questions answered, and have never felt unwelcome. Having my mouth fixed - after a lack of care and then cracked teeth from a car wreck- has been a Godsend. I have benefited from Dr Raj & his team.

Very disappointed with the billing and front desk service at Advance Family Dental care…read more My family has been going here since 2018 and unfortunately our recent experience was very frustrating. I was given incorrect information about my insurance coverage and was asked to make a payment that I was later told should not have been required. I was also promised a refund but despite following up multiple times I still have not received it. It's been a month now. What was most disappointing was the lack of communication and the way I was treated when I called to follow up. The front desk staff were rude and very unprofessional, which made an already frustrating situation even worse. Billing mistakes can happen but I expected better communication, follow through and better behavior from a practice my family has trusted for many years.

Wonderful Experience!…read more This was my first-ever dental visit, and my daughter and I were both really anxious due to a bad experience elsewhere. But Dr. James and the entire team were amazing--friendly, professional, and so calming. ARI did my cleaning and was incredibly knowledgeable and kind. The relaxing vibe (plus great 80s music!) made everything easier. Even my daughter said, "This was way better than the place that chipped my tooth!" We've definitely found our new dental home. Highly recommend--especially if you have dental anxiety!

He is also very prompt and is respectful of your time. You can go to his office and be sure that everyone will make you feel comfortable. His prices are also very reasonable. She did a very thorough exam and put together a clear care plan to address a few things I've been putting off. A few helpful details: the office has three chairs, accepts insurance, and is in-network for Montgomery County Public Schools employees (CIGNA plan users, this is a win!). Don't be fooled by the exterior of the building--when you walk up, it may not have the "fancy" look, but the service inside is absolutely top-notch. From the receptionist to the office manager to Dr. Ford herself, everyone was friendly, professional, and made me feel comfortable from start to finish. Highly recommend!

This review may seem like a novel, but I hope you read it completely to the end…read more First, the office is clean and staff are friendly. We were with Dr. Sibel Johnson for at least 3 years for regular cleanings which I happily give 5 stars. Then in late May, Dr. Sibel insisted I get a filling replaced because of a tiny crack. Weeks later the tooth was still very sensitive and I was not able to chew on that side at all. Went in to get it looked at. She checked and started to use a drill-like tool to smooth it down because the filling could have been too "high". (Even though the blue stain test showed it was not.) I immediately told her to stop because it was very painful. She wouldn't listen and went back in for another round. Dr. Sibel had no sympathy even after I told her it was PAINFUL. Days later my tooth and jaw started to throb like hell. Finally ended up with a root canal. Very upsetting and suspicious since I've never had an issue with this tooth for at least 15 years since I've had a filling. I don't have a history of dental issues. This was my first root canal ever. Plus they did not review (as usual) any insurance concerns or copays for the two visits after the messed up filling. They notified me of a balance for those two visits after I said we would not be returning and to cancel all future appointments previously made. She also insisted my son needed surgery to fix his jaw. But after my incident, I have indeed found a new dentist because I do no longer have faith in Dr. Sibel Johnson's judgement as a dentist and because of her lack of sympathy as a person. Beware and get a second opinion especially when she insists on any dental work. Will save yourself a lot of money and pain!
