The dental assistants seem very knowledgeable and good at their jobs, and Dr. D is so thorough she explains every single things she does and why which I really appreciate! She gave me all of the information regarding them and the course of treatment and cost breakdown and didn't pressure me which I really appreciated because it's a big investment in time / money (although not as much as I expected which was a nice surprise!) and I didn't feel rushed. The visit was x-rays followed by a sales presentation. Severe periodontal disease, apparently. No regular cleaning possible. Here's the treatment plan and here's what it costs. I offered her a compromise: do the regular cleaning today, and I'll book the deeper work for whenever suits her. She turned it down. Her explanation was that cleaning my teeth wouldn't be doing right by me as a patient. So I paid for an appointment, received no treatment of any kind, and left. I've had my teeth cleaned at five different practices over the past five years. Not one dentist ever raised gum disease. Not one ever found a cavity. One hour in her chair and I apparently need advanced treatment. This is over treatment at its most blatant. Avoid this practice. If you want your teeth cleaned, go somewhere that will clean them.

She took some X-rays to make sure the tooth was OK before referring me to an endodontist that I had seen before. We talked about another tooth I had cracked (but, ignored). She glued my crown back on, and I returned two days later for a much needed cleaning. I don't know why I waited so long. Time just escaped me. I should have looked at YELP reviews before committing to being a patient for years and Invisalign . Samia Nikkah is the MOST RUDE and unprofessional dentist , I have experienced . Her office staff is incredibly rude as well . With 2 insurances , I was coming over 4 times a year for cleaning . Also, I spent my lifetime orthodontic insurance and $5,500 on Invisalign . They are constantly trying to upsell you when they don't have the staff or time ! Stop accepting patients when you don't have time . Samia Nikkah did NOT even get a mirror and ask me how my final Invisalign product was and it I liked it ! She removed my previous metal bar that was $275 and lasted for 15 + years only for her to replace the bar and for it to fall out after 3 days ! I had an extremely disappointing experience with Dr. Ho's office in Kensington, Maryland…read more The practice demanded payment directly from me for services, even though I am covered under a health insurance plan. What is most frustrating is that this policy was never disclosed before treatment. Had I been informed in advance that I would be expected to pay out of pocket despite having insurance, I would have declined the services and sought care elsewhere. Patients deserve complete transparency regarding financial policies before any work is performed. Springing unexpected payment demands on patients after treatment is unacceptable and undermines trust in the provider. Being upfront about costs is a basic expectation of any professional medical practice. The lack of transparency left me feeling misled and frustrated. Regardless of the quality of the medical care, billing practices like this are enough to make me never return or recommend this office to anyone. Patients should know exactly what their financial responsibility will be before consenting to treatment--not after the fact.
