However, a recent incident showed us that when they make a mistake, they are happy to make us pay for it. We purchased a dental insurance policy for 2024 to cover anticipated costs. My husband's care was in three phases, and first two went smoothly earlier in 2024. On October 31, 2024, he had an impression taken for an occlusal guard. However, the dentist didn't send the impression to the manufacturer or file the claim in November or December while we still had dental coverage. Nor did they communicate with us about any of this until my husband finally called them. The delay led to a second impression being required in January, 2025, and my husband coming out with a bill for $1130.70 instead of the $195.30 that should have been the total charge if the claim had been filed while we had insurance in 2024. Their lack of communication was disappointing. My husband and I have spoken to three persons of authority there, including the billing and office managers, and their unwillingness to take responsibility for their negligence is unacceptable.

The doctor was busy with another patient, and unfortunately, no one informed me about the extended wait time. I eventually had to get up out of the chair and tell them that I needed to leave for a meeting. During the appointment, I was informed that I needed dental work that would cost $4,000. I decided to seek a second opinion from another dentist. I've asked three times for my dental X-rays to be shared with the other dentist, but I still haven't received them. The second dentist told me that the cleaning I received from Dr. Dunn was poorly done and that I didn't need the dental work she suggested. As a result, I will not be returning to Dr. Dunn.

Dr. Gildenhorn was amazing he explained everything to me. Beyond the procedure I have to say his personality is amazing. He's funny and direct and really cares You can tell he is super busy but I would expect that from a great dentist. Thanks to him I felt comfortable and appreciated. His assistant Maria was a doll. She completely made me feel great and she was very personable. Her smile made me feel great to have her around. She's beautiful inside and out. The procedure unfortunately did not help but it was perfectly done. I have no complaints or regrets. It's just one of those moments where luck wasn't on my side. Since I was indeed in dire pain I came back to him for a check up. The X-ray showed nothing but we decided on a root canal because of the excruciating pain. He apologized over and over and said he didn't like to see me in pain so he asked to give me an appt to Dr. Tran the specialist for a root canal ASAP. I only had to wait a day for her to be in office. Oh man I cannot express enough gratitude to her and her assistant Jessica. I myself am not your average person. I like to show love and appreciation to people. My own way of making the world a better place one person at a time. And they were very accommodating to me. They even played my favorite music while I had my procedure to calm me down and give me a more comfortable experience. I'd also like to take a moment to thank the front desk staff members I met. To Miss Bethany and Mr Patrick, thank you so much for you generosity and kindness. I hope you both continue to smile and have happy days. Mr. Patrick thank you so much for taking your time in helping me in my situation in the first visit. You took your time and never showed me anything other than respect and courtesy. There is nothing bad I can say to Aspen Hill Smiles. The staff and Dr.'s are some of the best I've seen. Thank you so much for everything. I will see you soon for my next appt. ~ Betty Boop PS - This dental office will help you if you don't have insurance. They have a dental savings plan that you may apply for in office. Where do I begin? I…read morefirst met the dental hygienist (blonde woman, short hair, in her 60s). I shared my concern about 1 veneer. She dismissed it, and told me I needed Invisalign to resolve my problem. Against I explained the history of the problem and that a previous dentist had addressed the issue effectively. She became noticeably irritated and argumentative, and raised her voice. I literally stopped talking. At one point she reached for my mouth and touched my lip with an ungloved hand. I asked her to not touch my mouth with ungloved hands. I did not engage with her any further as she cleaned my teeth. She proceeded to clean my teeth, and continued to talk about the issue I'd presented initially (in a slightly more calm manner). At one point she pulled down her mask to show me her Invisalign. I asked her to pull her mask back up as I was unmasked (basic COVID precaution). Once she was done cleaning my teeth I asked her if I could give her some feedback. She agreed. I said, "I trust your intent, but you have to think about impact as well when you interact with patients. When you're trying to communicate with and educate a patient, getting irritated and argumentative isn't going to make your patient hear you. I can't hear you when you're raising your voice, getting noticeably irritated, and arguing with me. She apologized. Also, you shouldn't touch a patient's mouth with ungloved hands." She turned away from me, clenched her jaw, and didn't say a word, again visibly upset. I communicated the same concerns to Dr. Wang at the front desk. Her first response was to say she hadn't seen her do that. Her second response was to ask what I do. I replied, I'm a nurse. Her response was, "Oh, so you're in the field." Why do you have to qualify my feedback with what I do for a living? A provider should care about my feedback because what happened is unacceptable and I'm your patient, not because I'm in the medical field. At no point did she say she'd speak with the employee and address the behavior. I'm incredibly disappointed in any medical establishment that doesn't hold employees accountable for their negative behavior, despite it's impact on patients. No one should be able to behave this way with impunity. I won't be returning. UPDATE: The info the dentist provided on the cost of fillings (said my insurance wouldn't cover them so is I'd have to pay 1000s), was not accurate. I just saw another dentist who assessed me and determined I needed far less dental work. Also, they informed me dental work would be covered at 80%, meaning I'd only have to pay a few $$$ out-of-pocket. Accurate info will save you 1000s, apparently. In response to my review, the front desk emailed me telling me they're sorry I'm frustrated. Really, that's what you got from my feedback? What I would've liked to hear is how she will address her employee's behavior. Anything else is just lip service.
