Great memories made here camping over labor day weekend. Some of our group are in rvs, some in cabins, and we were in a glamping tent. The rv sites are really packed in together, and the tent sites are in rocks, no shade and also packed in. Our glamping tent was wonderful. We called it our Harry Potter tent. It was nice to have linens already together, a mini fridge, storage, lighting, and chairs. It was a great setup. The cabins are also nice especially the larger ones with bathrooms. The shared bathrooms were clean. The single shower bathroom combos were nice for privacy. The activity director had fun and kept everyone involved in a putting challenge, flashlight hunt, bingo, and cornhole. The cafe and store are also very nice. We already booked again for our group to be back next year.

This is the sharp edge on the arm of the chair where her pants got ripped. She could have cut her leg or her arm on this spot.

I have stayed at this KOA many times over the past 20 years. I always bragged about how good this place is and many friends have stayed there based on my previous reviews. This trip in the first week of June had one event that ruined my review 100%. If what happened had been handled professionally, my review would be five stars and good smiles. The event was simply this, we were sitting in a chair provided by the KOA to sit by our fire while we camped in a Conestoga Wagon. We got the fire going after dark. My wife sat in a chair trusting it to be safe. At some point she stood up and felt her pants rip. These were new pants and not cheap. I turned a light on and saw three rips on the side of her pants. I then looked and saw a very sharp piece of metal that was screwed into two parts of the wooden chair. More inspection was to see that they had six other sharp edged pieces of metal all over that chair holding it together. The good news is that she didn't get cut by the chair. But the sad news is a nice pair of pants were damaged. We made a complaint the next morning. It got escalated to a local manager who then turned it over to her boss. We had one phone message from the district manager. The rest of the time was communication by email. This manager had poor communication skills and never did seek to look at the photos. She wanted us to send a copy of the receipt. She had wrong information stating we ordered them online. I corrected the information and stated the online photo shown to her manager beneath her was to show the cost of $89 for the pants. She then emailed me to have me tell her when we were going to stay next and she would give us $40 off the cost of staying there. This is unacceptable because it does not replace the pants and we have no idea when we might stay again. Several weeks later I still had nothing resolved. We had sent a receipt showing the cost from my wife replacing the torn pants with the exact store and price. Nothing more was said to us. I reached out this weekend and she responded to say she would refund me $40 for the cost of the pants. That is it. I think this is very poor management and dealing with this did take from some of our enjoyment in this trip. This lack of customer service and lack of care is enough to make us not want to stay or brag about this KOA. Not once did anyone of the staff say they were sorry for this experience or state they were glad we didn't get cut by the sharp edges of each metal piece on this chair. It took them 2 days to remove it from the area.

One of our favorite spots! Nice large spots, quiet, wooded. The pool is indoor, they have a restaurant and very clean. Property is starting to get old but still very nice. I recommend it.

LOVE this particular KOA. The staff is super friendly and helpful. Great with kids!!! So many fun activities including hayrides, go Karts (family favorite) mini golf, bouncy blob, playground, bingo, crafts, on site restaurant and the store is fabulous! There's also a small store down by the go karts & a few arcade games, pool tables and claw machines. Definitely a great spot. Some of our family stayed in a glamping tent & it was super clean and fun for a young family. There's also teepees and covered wagons. The public restrooms and shower areas were exceptionally clean.

This is a great place to stay! The staff was great and the cabin was clean and very comfortable. I enjoyed my night there. Will stop again on my way back through.

The cabins in the back face the woods and are peaceful and quiet. Campgrounds were immaculate and there were staff always moving around making sure everything worked well. Many amenities and everyone was kind and helpful.

Railside RV Ranch (Williams, AZ) - June 13, 2023 We've…read morestayed at this RV park a few times before. It's about an hour south of the South Rim of the Grand Canyon, about an hour or so north of Sedona, and less than an hour west of Flagstaff. So it is nicely placed to do excursions. Also, since it's virtually impossible to get a campsite at the Grand Canyon, this RV park works out pretty well for us. Aside from the convenience of accessing other areas, the town of Williams itself is very charming. We always find there's plenty to do. It's less than a five minute drive from the RV site to the center of town where they have plenty of restaurants and gift shops to check out, a nice wine shop, and a couple of breweries. The town of Williams is part of the Route 66 Highway, and the town has a 50s/60s vibe to it, almost like a scene out of American Graffiti. One of our favorite things to do when we're here is go to Cruiser's Route 66 Cafe where you can get a smoked brisket sandwich, burger, and the like, as well as drinks from a full bar, as you listen to live music from talented local musician John Carpino, as he sings and plays acoustic guitar, harmonica, and percussion doing a variety of classic rock, country, and audience favorites. One of the things we really love about this park is they have a dog washing station. They also have a laundry mat. There is a Spa area that we've used in the past, but it was out of service this time around. Not sure why. Maybe it was a casualty of COVID. There is a train track terminal in the town of Williams, so there are occasional trains that go by the park taking passengers up to the Grand Canyon. We've never done the train ride, but that sounds like something fun to do. The point is, you'll hear some train noise sometimes in the middle of the night. Still not enough to knock my review below 5 stars. The WIFI is OK. We were actually able to stream some of our shows, but oftentimes, we would loose the signal. Again, still not enough to knock my review below 5 stars.

*Free attraction for all active duty military and their families!*…read more Arrived at 5-5:30 on a Thursday and the place had maybe 1 or 2 other families. You walk inside and there's a gift shop with a food stand in the back. They have some fresh produce-- apples, oranges, bananas, and I saw you could ask for tomatoes, peppers, and some other stuff. The coolers were filled with bottled drinks and beer. There were tables to sit at and a small counter to order food. We ordered our dinner -- they mostly had wings, burgers, a couple sides, and ice cream. My husband got buffalo wings (10), mozzarella sticks (10), and the five piece chicken tenders for the kids, plus 2 Gatorades and it was $52. I wasn't super hungry and figured I would pick at whatever was left. My husband said the wings were good! I tasted the sauce and it was flavorful but not overly hot. I did end up eating some of the kids' tenders and they were probably some of the better ones we've had in the area. You can definitely eat outside, so ask for your orders to go! I think the price for adults to enter the park is $10, slightly lower for kids, and, I believe, kids under 3 were free. Like it said though, active duty military and their families get in free. Either way, I would have paid for the experience if we had to. If you even remotely like dinosaurs or the Flinstones, you'll love it here. The park is very nostalgic, see my attached pictures! Lots of photo opportunities for the whole family, a slide, swings, and peddle karts that you can "race" on a track through the volcano. They also have animals-- sheep, goats, an alpaca, various kinds of birds. The animal exhibits made me a little sad, especially the birds. There was animal feed for the goats, sheep, and alpaca and it looked like there was a little stage and seating for shows. We stayed until they closed at 8! I bought my son a shirt and myself a hoodie. If we were in the area again when the kids were older, I'd definitely take them back. It was fun for wll ages!

I spent an hour cleaning the floor and carpet in my RV because the dogs and my shoes had them stuck in them and I had to pick them out of the carpet one by one and there were hundreds of them. I had to pull these horrible things out of the pads of one of my dogs feet. My shoes had these things stuck in them and I had to pull them out one at a time and now my fingers are sore from getting poked by these things. My crocs are ruined. Not a relaxing place. Glad I only booked one night. I'm out first thing in the morning. I won't stay here again. I don't know how people tent camp at this place. Seriously, these little stickers ruined my night and the next day they are that bad. Find another park to stay in.

Especially the RN's who work Labor & Delivery) The campground was covered in snow (February) and so I cannot comment about the showers/restrooms/laundromat, etc. as these services are not available in the winter. However, this just means more available spaces to park or camp (they have sites for tents, Campers, big 5th wheels with slide-outs and huge motor coaches they have new 50amp sites for with easy pull in access! Sites are big enough and signage is good. The one thing I would suggest is during the summer, they need to somehow mark the driving pathways so they can easily be distinguished from campsites when snowfall covers the ground. We accidentally drove thru some tent sites getting to our reserved 30amp space in the very back of the campground. No harm done - but my sweet hubby who was driving in was getting quite grumpy how awkward it was to park - only to later realize that if we would have followed the roadway, it would've made a lot more sense and been so much easier! Once we parked, Water and Electric hook ups were quite easy, and each site had a picnic table with plenty of room for parking we even had room at our site for an extra car to park. We thought we would only be there a couple of nights, but due to complications with the birth we ended up having to stay more nights and even asked for a late checkout, and both needs were met by office staff with such kindness and understanding. By the way, definitely make some time to shop around the store. Besides supporting your local community businesses, they have some excellent products for a VERY tasty charcuterie board, light lunch and snacks to take back to your campsite or pack up to go on a hike! My last comment is about marking your GPS coordinates if you are on any site at the back (closest to the brick wall) where the new 50amp and 30amp sites are. Apple Maps, Google Maps & Waze will all mark correct GPS coordinates, however, when you switch to an address, it will tell you that you are on the next street over as if you are one of the apartments on the other side, of the brick wall. In fact, even the sites across from our not up against the brick wall, still show an address using the street name "Pico Del Monte Circle" on the other side of the brick wall where the apartments are located. This is pretty important if you are using your location finder to give somebody else directions to where you are or using apps like Instacart or DoorDash. I did use DoorDash while we were there and the driver had to call and I had to explain how to get into the campground.. this has nothing to do with Woody Mountain Campground and everything to do with the map situation. I did report it to Apple and Google. Hopefully it will get fixed but as of today, i see that has not been fixed. (may 2026)
