This is our 1st time to stay in a trailer and we liked it! We haven't properly camped for a very long time and to celebrate my hubby's birthday, we chose to try it here. The location is very accessible to everything; gas, convenient stores, and Williams town! We'll definitely stay here again next time, thank you for the experience, we enjoyed it. Cons: *The space heater only works occasionally and the furnace heater cannot warm the rooms as much - it can get chilly in the rooms at night so ask for another one from the office since it can get pretty cold when you sleep. *The dirt path going to your RV/trailer is very rough and has too many holes. AWARENESS: There are several RV parks located either in Williams, AZ or not too far from it. Unfortunately, because our group of campers totaled five rigs and reservations were made not far enough out, we ended up staying here for about three nights. NARRATIVE: After pulling the trailers from Tuscan all day, we arrived at the Canyon Gateway RV Park a bit after 6 PM. Check in was a breeze and the cost of the park is reasonable, given what amenities or the lack of they offer. The park itself is shared between visitor campers and resident campers. Meaning, the majority of sites are for visitors but they do have designated sites for people who actually stay full time. The park is close to downtown Williams, with its main street being part of historic Route 66 (review of Williams in the near future) and lots of cool shopping. Canyon Gateway is also very close to Bearizona and about an hours drive to the Grand Canyon. SCENE: The Canyon Gateway RV Park is right off the I-40's North Gand Canyon Blvd. exit. The same road will take you to the Gand Canyon itself. The park easy to find and can accommodate trucks pulling a 5th wheels. Unfortunately, being close to amenities, attractions and shopping are all the "goods" about the park. The "bad'" are: - Little, red pumas rocks cover the entire parks parking area and get into ever crevasse and crack imaginable. - The utility services for hook ups are so far behind the rig, especially for sewer waist, I had to find a hardware store and purchase an extension hose to reach it. - A Lowes Truck Stop sits directly across the street from the park and the trucks and drivers getting fuel, food or just rest keep the trucks on day and night. Don't bother trying to sleep with your windows open because, IT AIN'T HAPPENING. - Told by employee checking us in, our fire pits with arresters were okay to use. Telephone call the next day by an anonymous employee said the okaying employee was new and wrong and fire pits were not allowed. This conversation terminated when the anonymous employee hung up the phone before allowing any further conversation. Sad... RECOMMENDATION(S): I was not impressed. When I return to the area, I'll find another park to stay at or, I'll dry camp. It WAS that bad. read more

Booked here because the description on Booking.Com said they were "pet friendly". After I checked in, I learned they had a "no cats" policy. I checked out the next morning by 10am requesting a refund. I was told by the front desk they have a no refunds policy. Requested manager call me and left number, no call. All attempts to contact property about refund have been ignored. This property is $$$ and they misrepresented their pet policy. Zero stars. Would not recommend ever. Well it kills me to leave two star. My sister and I have stayed here 4 times now in the last 4 yrs. Overall with our dogs in the past it was about a 3 1/2 -4 Star. This time it is just myself , sister and my granddaughter. The problem with some broken utensils and slightly dirty pots and pans has not changed. ( I just bring my own) The big issues this time are the smells from the septic! It is very overwhelming and bad. Even between the units the smell is bad. And I can't leave the windows open because of the heat. The front office lady rolled her eyes, When I went back for more spray. They just said to run the water for a minute in the toilet. ( two front office ladies also argued about assigning some other folks in the wrong unit in front of us. The older lady scolded another women on there dated marker pen boards on unit being used. ‍ Overall in the past it was fine to overlook stuff ( it's camping in an RV) we actually have stayed in numerous cabins and RV's in the area so I have a lot of comparisons. The carpet needs to be cleaned in bedrooms , my granddaughter spilled some water and wow what a difference even water makes, after I cleaned it up. The couch in the main room has lost all its fluff, sitting down is not fun, we got the pillows from the bedrooms and sat on them. Anyways Williams and flagstaff have several campgrounds that we will using in the future. read more

Very clean and pretty spacious! It helps that it's also dog friendly and there's a small off leash park in the corner of the campground. Bowls, treats, and doggy bags are provided when you check in. The RV is conveniently located right by gas stations and few fast food spots. There's a Safeway if you want to grill your own food! Propane grill, lounge chairs, and picnic tables are right outside the RV. Inside, it's like a little hotel with all the amenities and more. Shampoo, conditioner, body wash, kitchen utensils, air conditioner and WiFi! The WiFi is a little slow, so be patient if you're trying to connect. This place is about 3 hours from the west rim (skywalk) and about an hour drive to south rim and an hour to Sedona. Great place for glamping if that's what you choose to do for your Grand Canyon road trip! read more

Let me start by saying, the staff here is EXTREMELY friendly and helpful. However, the overall stay based on what is advertised is not accurate. We rented an RV which was held together inside by a lot of wood colored duct tape and dirty dishes. We didn't plan on spending a ton of time inside the RV, so at first it wasn't a problem. But there is no space to do anything here, would not call it camping in the slightest. No hiking, no area to run around for the kids, in fact, it's right next to the highway and across the street from a truck stop. This is more of an overnight stay for those who are traveling through and need RV hook ups, not a "glamping" experience. Very thankful for the kind staff, but we wont be back here. read more

The pictures on the website that give you the impression that the site is located in the forest are misleading. I am very very impressed with this RV Glamping site. Everything here is on point. We reached here at around 11 pm and our instructions were sent to us in e-mail beforehand so that we don't have to look for a helper in case of late check-in. The directions and getting into the park was easy. The lockbox code was customized for us so that only we'd know it so that made the experience more personalized. We got to our Site and got into the RV. It was my first RV Glamping experience so I was excited like a kid. Our RV had two bedrooms, one queen bed in each and a sofa bed in the common area. There were two bathrooms which were great since we were 5 people. The kitchen was stocked with basic necessities. The bathrooms and bedrooms had ample amount of linens. The only thing which I was a little upset about was that the pull out sofa bed wasn't long enough, A friend who is 5'9" had to sleep diagonally to fit into it. But otherwise, everything is great in these RVs. There is also on-site help if you end up clogging toilets etc. They come in promptly and help you out. There are also common bathrooms/toilets for guests to use in case all your RV bathrooms are not enough for the number of people in your party. The area is pretty quiet but there is a fuel station & convenience store right next to the site for quick runs. There are also some fast-food joints nearby to grab a quick bite. It's not very far from the Williams downtown as well. Rte 66 goes through their downtown so it's very lively and has some great options for drinks, dinner, etc. In-all, I loved my experience here and would love to go back to this place when I am heading to Grand Canyon again. read more

Way overpriced for what it is...... Really noisy and not in a good part of town. Right next to a busy 24 hour truck stop. No pine trees on the property, just some poplars but only on the first row. The electricity didn't work at the assigned spot I had. Only had 15 amps from what I could tell. Had to move spots and then the staff wouldn't work with me on a partial refund when I wanted to find another rv park in the area. They said "take it up with your bank" Also they claim to have WiFi. But it didn't work while we were there. Staff stated. "We don't guarantee reliable WiFi". Which is fine, but this was non existent read more

This RV Park has spaces for rent, but they also have a few lux RVs that you can rent like a AirBNB. They certainly did a great job on those. We were in town mainly for the Polar Express and our unit was clean and had everything we needed for three nights with our two little kids (1.5 and 3 years old). We stayed in a unit that had a loft, and the kids loved it up there. The staff was very accommodating and sent us an email each day to see if we needed anything. There's a Safeway market in town for grocery store and firewood needs, and we had a full kitchen so we ate a few meals at the RV to save money and make things easy. We also were able to make lunches to take to the Grand Canyon on Wednesday and Bearizona on Thursday, so that was fun for the kids to eat lunch at those places and easy for us as parents, too. I think you should note that the park is across from a truck fuel stop, so there's a significant amount of traffic, HOWEVER when we drove down Rte 66 and saw the motels/hotels available and all the loud traffic and roaring motorcycles in town, we were very happy with this "Glamping experience." In comparison, we got more space than a hotel/motel room (inside and outside), nice owners and staff, a great location in proximity to the train station and the classic little town of Williams, and the truck stop never woke us up or made enough noise to really bother us. My husband and I burned fires in the fire pit each night outside the RV and sat near the fire, talking quietly after we put the kids down, and you can't do that at a motel. If you have little kids like we do, there's a fun playground right in the middle of town on 66, if you have some time and want to wear them out. We also would do Bearizona again. The wolves and buffalo, and the raptor show alone are worth the entry fee. And of course the Polar Ex was the kid's favorite and made the trip unforgettable for them. read more

Is it super fancy? No. Is the location good? YES! The staff were friendly and helpful, the grounds were clear of trash and seemed taken care of. You can't ask for a better spot if you're visiting Bearizona or downtown Williams. You see a lot of trucks going to the truck stop but it's not loud. Over the weekend we got to stay here Saturday through Monday. This is a place we definitely will be coming back to visit. They were an hour away from the meteor crater. A 45 minute drive to the Grand Canyon. Also, just under the freeway from the awesome small town of Williams! My only complaint is, I didn't get enough time here Everything was a breeze. From making the reservation, Communication with them, checking in, checking out and any and all needs we had. We had all kinds of small treats from popcorn, candy, hot chocolate and a full bag of coffee in our trailer. My 11 year old daughter LOVE the cookies in the office. At check out, I went into the office and The girls were full of personality. I got to meet one of the owners and got to have a small chat with her. They just bought the park in May last year. They truly have done an awesome job on less then a years time. Although I wish I could keep this my hidden gem to myself. This is a three star review that earned its fourth star because of Kendra, Patrick, Merin, and the other hardworking staff employed here. We stayed here for four days and three nights after booking our glamping RV on AirBnb. Our unit was clean, spacious, and in perfect working order during our stay. The trailer was nicely stocked with snacks, a pound of freshly ground coffee (nice touch), and plenty of information on local things to do and see. This is also a very pet friendly place to stay. Staff repeatedly offered dog treats and additional supplies to us for our black labs. Really nice. The grounds were well maintained, and kept clean over the 4th of July weekend. No easy feat with all the extra traffic. The dumpsters did fill up but were emptied on the next day. Again, very attentive staff here. We read the other reviews, and could confidently state that management made the right changes in hiring Kendra. She gets it done. We had a small problem with our TV signal and mentioned it to Kendra in passing. While we were out grocery shopping for our stay her team visited our unit and fixed the signal. Again, great service here. Our site had a really nice deck to relax on, with two chairs, a full sized propane bbq, and accent lights for the evenings. There are corn hole sets spaced all over the park, and we guessed kids could rent electric bikes as we saw several zipping around. Our only criticisms were the constant drone of the idling Diesel engines from the large Loves truck stop next door, and the general location right next to the loud interstate. This is not the ideal spot for a quiet camp like get away. However, if you are looking for a great place to stay for a night to recharge your weary road batteries, or to use as a home base to explore the local forests, this is the spot. read more

Great break from hotels as they rent newer travel trailers that are all set up, all have pop outs , nice for a little extra room. You can have a little fire but only tell 10pm. Some of the units have corn hole games in the office they have board games you can check out. they have wood and s'more kits available for purchase at the office. They are also equipped with a barbecuer and utensils no need to bring blankets or towels or anything all supplied cute little basket supplied in each unit that has a few granola bars pretzels coffee hot cocoa popcorn and more, not the best of views but nor are most ever parks just minutes away from downtown Williams with lots of little shops and restaurants, roller coaster, Zipline, Grand Canyon train and don't forget the shit out by the Grand Canyon train as well always fun to watch. read more

When I booked the night at Grand Canyon RV Glamping I truly thought the experience would be a glamorous camping experience since Glamping is a play on the words "glamour" and "camping". Since I booked a "Delux Luxury Suite", I expected high quality furniture, walls, flooring, baths, bedrooms, kitchen and living areas in our 2 BR - 2 BA RV. This was definitely not the case. The entire accommodation was made of reinforced plastic like laminated materials. The floor laminate was peeling from the substrate, there was something that looked like kibble in the floor vents, the electric socket for coffee making did not work, the thermostat in the primary BR didn't work, and the vehicle itself was parked one foot from a neighboring RV so opening the window shades would be useless to gain any exterior lighting or view of Route 40. The blankets for a cold night were nylon and totally worthless for providing any degree of warmth as bed covers. There were no extra blankets in the RV. The location is across the street from a truck stop and fairly close to route 40. I paid about $300 for the night which included a cleaning fee of $65. In spite of that, we had to empty our own trash. Very disappointed in the representation as a "glamping" experience. "Grand Canyon RV Camping" seems a more realistic name for the operation. The RV interior was more worn than what is reflected in the photos on the website. On a positive note, the staff people at check-in and check-out were very friendly. The location is close to restaurants, bars, groceries, fuel and souvenirs. read more

An hour drive without traffic. 2) pictures look better than actual. Advertised laundry facility and then they weren't available. Not worth the price. Focus appears to be on the clamping site customers and not the RV sites. Trees making parking a little difficult. Sadly, we rented a trailer for our vacation thinking it would be a fun experience. I booked thru Airbnb which I thought would protect us. So many issues with this unit, AC broke, bed broke. Although most of the staff was very friendly, it is certainly not expected to smell sewage, have grey water back up into shower and sink, have no wi-fi, no TV, dirty dishes. Would have been better off stay in a different location. When I asked for some of my money back, I was given a coupon for my next stay, anyone want it? 1 star review is too good. read more

Today, I drove through this RV park thinking about staying but, as I drove through there were people cutting up their deer, elk or whatever it was, right there in the open on what looked like brand new picnic tables!!!! Last minute decided to go on a little getaway. Rented the larger unit and it was very roomy. Although only two of us, has enough room for 5, maybe 6. Check in staff was super friendly and helpful, and downtown Williams is right on the other side of the freeway with lots of beautiful quaint shops and restaurants. The RV has pretty much everything you need with a full size fridge, pots and pans, utensils, towels, and even a body soap, shampoo and conditioner dispenser. We're definitely coming back soon with the rest of the family. It is about an hour to the South Rim Grand Canyon entrance. read more

Stayed one night in spot 32. After a long drive from California we showered and went to bed. Around 10:30 pm a pipe in the bathroom broke and water started to fill the camper. Went outside to shut off the water. Called and an attendant arrived to mop up the water. He advised not to use the toilet as the water was now turned off. Had to get up in the middle of the night and trek down to the public restroom. When checking out the next morning we asked for a PARTIAL refund due to the inconvenience of not having any water. We were told that the owner of space 32 does not EVER offer any type of refund. We did not ask for a full refund but some consideration should have been given due to having no water. Buyer beware this is not a customer friendly business. read more

3 and 1/2. The front desk there was really helpful they were friendly. The truck stop wasn't that loud as people say it is. We were provided with towels dishes etc everything you would need to stay. The only complaint that I have well two complaints, the Wi-Fi is horrible horrible horrible. We had to use our hotspot on our phones the whole time we were there. And I totally think that whoever is cleaning these RVs needs to reevaluate their cleaning skills. There were cobwebs everywhere the ceiling fan had so much dust on it I attempted to dust it myself. The blinds were broken which wasn't that big of a deal but come on buy some new blinds. The heat was really good there we have no complaints about the heat the shower was great we also use the showers in the front which were super amazing we just wanted to take a longer shower. Other than that our stay was really good yes you have to pay for your own firewood yes you have to pay for the fire pit but how else are these people supposed to keep this place running? We had our Chihuahua with us which was good that we could do that. They provide us with enough blankets towels so that part was no problemo. The location was close to town too. read more

What a fun experience. Family of 4 stayed in a luxury 2 bedroom rv. Small kitchen with medium size fridge, microwave, quality linens, patio chairs, gas grill, cornhole and a fire pit. So much fun. If you need anything (put the awning down, light the oven) 1 of the sweet girls comes right over to help with a smile. Location is excellent - lots of restaurants, Safeway and shops nearby. The park is very quiet. You will hear trains but I'm a light sleeper and didn't bother me much. Loved Brewed Awakenings and the downtown historic street on the other side of the highway. Tips - get gas in the Route 66 downtown shop area. Is $1 cheaper! Safeway is the only grocery store. Its busy. read more

We needed a quick get-away from the Valley heat and wanted to go someplace where we could still practice "social distancing" while having a good time. Everything from Payson to Show Low was booked so we decided to look towards Flagstaff. We found Canyon Gateway RV park "Glamping." Having owned a couple of RVs before, we were missing the feel of camping in a home on wheels; the price was reasonable, the park looked clean, quiet and restful. First, I must say that we were surprised at how close the park is to the highway, But I have to add this did not take away from our experience; in fact, we barely noticed the traffic noise while we were outside because we were enjoying the fresh air after being in the desert heat. The two bedroom RV we rented was a fairly newer model, very clean and contained the essentials like, dishes, towels, blankets, gas grill, and of course a lighter for the fire pit. You can purchase wood, fire starters and Smore fixings in the office. They also have plenty of board games to borrow just in case it rains; it did and we did, which added to the enjoyment. They even provide a doggy food dish, treats and doggy doo bags which I thought is a nice touch for the fur babies. The office staff are very friendly and Roxanne even offered to assist lighting the fire pit if we needed. There are showers next to the office if you prefer not to steam up the RV; they and the restrooms were well maintained. It is a small park and since it is off the highway, there are spots available for travelers to "pull in" for the night. I love pull in spots, so much easier for road weary drivers. The spots are spacious, well lit and the grounds are well maintained. The park itself is near a Loves Truck stop and a Chevron gas station but again, we did not notice the traffic noise. The town of Williams is less than a mile away and Bearizona is 2 miles away. There are plenty of quaint stores and what looks like good restaurants; however, because of Covid we stayed to ourselves prefering to hangout at the park and relax in the air. Did I mention the staff is practicing safety precautions with masks and social distancing? We were very pleased to see that. Our stay was from Tuesday evening to Friday morning. We were able to relax and enjoy the fresh air and take nature walks and enjoy the fresh air. This is definitely a place we will visit again. read more

I could not find a negative star. I have never had an experience like this one. After reading the reviews and speaking with the person at the park, I made reservations for a three-night stay here. I requested and was assured I had a pull-through site long enough for my Mobile home and jeep which I was towing. My motor home is 33ft long with the jeep it's around 45 feet. When I arrived I was assigned a number and was told that someone would be parking in front of me. The site was not a pull-through site it was a pull-in site and was too small for my motor home. After pointing this out they gave me another site that barely fit my motor home. I had to park the jeep next to the coach and had about 1 foot between the jeep and the coach. I decided to stay given we were celebrating our anniversary at the Grand Canyon. The next day a group of classic car people showed up and the cars were so loud that my coach shook every time they started up their cars. They woke us up at 5:30 am and then were so loud outside we could not sleep. So much for quiet hours. I left a day early so we could get some rest and enjoy what is left of our vacation. When I told them about this, they acted like I was making it up and didn't even offer to refund my last night. This place is nothing more than a camper rental location with a few small rv spots. If you are desperate and have a very small rig you can stay here otherwise keep going. Their rental camper spots are much larger so this is more of a camper hotel. read more

TRAVELERS BEWARE!!! ..... called this place to see what they had available over 5 hours before arriving from an 11 hour drive from deep in Colorado. Got there exhausted and ready to book the spot with my wife, kids and 2 dogs. As we walked into the Glamping RV unit it was like walking into an oven had to be over 90 degrees. I walked right back out went to the front desk to explain the AC unit was blowing hot air. The women at the front desk seemed frustrated and told me to hold on. Finally after more time passed we walked out the RV only for her to tell me along the way that the AC worked fine the other day. After wasting another 30 minutes flipping breakers and telling me it's not that hot she offered us a smaller unit....lol! We politely said no thanks as the RV we were promised needed repair, and was not suitable for any paying customer. We were tired, hungry, and wanted to get some sleep. With no choice left, we made a decision to leave and asked for the manager, only to hear..... no refunds and my manager is out of town. THIS PLACE IS NOT CUSTOMER FRIENDLY, has a loud freeway adjacent location and will happily take your money whether you stay or leave because they are are fault. Do your family a big favor and pass this place knowing there are much nicer places to stay. THIS IS NOT WALKING DISTANCE TO TOWN. There are 2 KOA campgrounds or a hotel downtown Williams with easy walking access to all the stores and food out your front door. Relaxing, easy check-in, extremely friendly staff. RVs are clean and comfortable. The only reason for the four stars and not five is because I have gone RVing before and have camped in forests and along beaches where the ambiance is amazing!! Having said that, I would definitely come back here! The RV felt like my own little home and the town of Williams is too cute to not come back. And again, the staff is wonderful! read more
