I recently moved into my new home and was having heating issues so I called my home warranty in order to have someone sent out. William's Air Conditioning & Heating was assigned to the call and they were able to schedule and appointment the same week. The technician that came out was very polite and professional. He looked over all the vents and wasn't able to find anything wrong but provided a few tips on how to maintain the home warm throughout. I got a quote from Williams Air Conditioning and Heating in Goodyear, Az. It was for a 19 SEER 12000 BTU heat pump mini split unit. Material and installation labor quoted was $3,125.00. I had previously purchased two heat pump mini splits from another contractor for $1,875.00, in 2018. One unit was a 110v 12000 BTU, and the second unit was a 220v 18000 BTU. The tech arrived at a little after 9am, installed both units, and pulled out of my driveway at exactly 1pm. I was able to get the 220v 12000 BTU 19 SEER heat pump unit I had Williams quote me from another company for $659.00 and the installation cost was $600.00, including a pad for the condenser, and a sheet metal raceway for the line set. THAT IS $1,866.00 LESS THAN WILLIAMS AIR CONDITIONING AND HEATING QUOTED ME. Williams' quote seemed like a get rich quick price quote to me. I don't know how people can do this kind of thing to their customers. I'm on Social Security and cannot afford to be treated this way. read more

I set up an A/C tune-up appointment with a different company, but since they couldn't come out for 2.5 weeks, I called William's and they came out the very next day. Paula, the lady that I talked to at William's, was very nice and personable. Note: I notice that the A/C companies advertise this service as an A/C tune-up (even the paperwork they give you in the end says "Certificate of Tune-Up Service"), but it's not an actual tune-up. The techs say that it's just a check-up. They don't change or fix anything; they just check the units and make recommendations as to what needs to be changed or fixed. So the William's tech comes out and right off the bat, knowing how old our units are, he's talking about replacing the whole thing, or at least the motor fans. Now I realize we're in the desert and these units have a limited lifespan - and ours are right about there - but talking about a major expense without even having opened the units yet is shady to me. Two-and-a-half weeks later, the A/C tech from the other company calls (I didn't cancel that appointment, so I could get a second opinion). So he comes and inspects the units, outside AND inside the house - went up into the attic and everything - he was very thorough. The Williams tech never even checked or asked about the part of the units that's inside the house, but he checked the "Inspect/Clean indoor blower & motor" boxes in the Certificate of Tune-up. Recap at end of check-up with the OTHER A/C company: Tech: How old are the units again? Me: Oh, about 13 years old Tech: Looks like you've had some work done on them... new motor fans, new capacitors. Me: Oh? Tech: Yeah, those are new. Me: OH! That's right! One of those units went out a couple of years ago and we did have some work done. I forgot all about that. So the fans are relatively new and I felt that the William's tech was scaring us into getting new ones asap, like it could go out any day now. Glad I got a second opinion. ***Updated Review*** Yelp wouldn't let me post a second review. I used Williams again, this time the main unit TXV valve went out. They showed up that night, and had the part ordered and replaced and the A/C up and running the very next day. Thank y'all again for the prompt and fast service/repair. The two a/c units in my rental were having difficulty cooling off the house. William saved me a miserable night with a late night house call to temporarily cool is off until the problem could be diagnosed. Turns out one complete cool needed replaced and a leak repaired in the other. Being in a rental that I am, William communicated with the owner and replaced/repaired everything in a timely manner, and explained everything to me on what to watch for and all the proper maintenance to ensure the systems run perfect all the time. William even offered to come out when we switch back over to heat for the winter just for preventative measures. I am so happy I found this company because all the "big boy companies" were too busy or would not answer the phone at night for an emergency. Thank you again to William, his apprentice Joel, and Paula in the office for taking care of me and the family when we needed it most. The response that I received a "free" unit is untrue, and even more reason to stay away from this company. Yes, I have a home warranty that is now not willing to extend my warranty because of this claim. The warranty company did not pay Williams, I did. Williams is the one that initially overcharged my credit card. Williams is trying to save face now that the facts have been posted. Please understand they were not initially willing to cooperate (I have documentation to prove it) and they did an awful job (see photos). Williams told me the technician that performed the work was one of their best and had been in the business for more than 20 years. They told me that the technician that did my work was fired. That is too bad, I don't wish that on anybody. I can not recommend a vendor that always has to have the last word and goes out of their way to make their customers feel they were wrong. They are All liars, none of them can be trusted, worst company I've ever dealt with out of 4 that I had come out here, she sent a technician named Laron out here to give me a second opinion and make sure that it was my blower motor that needed replaced and he tried to exchange services for a puppy I have, his excuse for not doing the job that day was he had to take classes and he would be too tired so he would do it on Saturday, then on Saturday he canceled , then it was Monday but he canceled again without even telling me, then it was Tuesday then he canceled again without telling me, so I waited at home all 3 days for no one to show up, then On Tuesday Paula decided to send two totally different technicians out two hours before my appointment time when I wouldn't be home because I had an appointment and without telling me so when I wasn't home I got a call saying the techs were here so then I had to hurry up and rush through my appointment to get back where I found both ACs technicians on top of my roof that we're not Laron who I had signed the contract with so i called Paula told her that l they said someone threw my wires so none of my wires were there which is a total lie as you can see in the pics on here, and asked for Laron as he is the one I signed the contract with, she said ok and hung up and never called back, he was supposed to be here at 2 pm but she never called until 6 pm again waited all day for no one to show up, I politely and kindly asked them to leave because clearly they are unprofessional liars and not trained I can not believe he said that my wires to my blower motor weren't there the pics on here prove that is a complete and total lie and completely not true , Then she tried to say that my roof was a safety issue when I just on 5/22/21 a week ago Had a professional contractor come out here to replace all the missing shingles on my roof which would not make my roof a hazard at all anyway but that was her lie for not doing the job again, Then she tried to accuse me of fixing my AC for free ! then she tried to complain that she had to spend gas money to take the parts back that she bought and blame it on me when she's the one that refuse to do the job, The title on here says free estimates she tried to charge me for those free estimates read more

I am a real estate investor that owns a lot of properties. One of my newest tenants had an AC failure and called Williams because he did not want to bother my property manager. The estimate to fix was over $1000 and parts would not be available until Monday (this was a Saturday night). He then called her, and she called Harry Roud, who we use for all of our work. Harry fixed it and billed me $400.02. A few years ago I had a water heater go out and my wife called The Sunny Plumber - that estimate was over $6K (it is a HE heater). Called them at midnight and they answered the phone, came out the next day when they said they would. The tech came out and told my wife the coil was rusted out and needed to be replaced at a price of $3000. I know copper doesn't rust, it corrodes and that there is a chance the coolant eroded the copper coils, also because we lost our compressor the year before. The $3000 price tag seemed high since I can buy a new air handler for about $900. The tech stated the coils were not part of the air handler and we would still have to replace them. I am not an expert here but all the units I found online had coils, maybe I got lucky. Angie's list listed a coil replacement costs at around $1200. I called another company in for a second opinion and he found a small leak at a solder joint, repaired it, added some refrigerant and went on his way for $300. Williams did send me a thank you email for us paying them $65 for a service call, nice touch. I responded back to them about the actual repair and how I was disappointed with their repair quote, they refunded my $65 fee with out me asking for it. Due to the refund I upgraded them to a star, their customer service part of the company seems to be on point. I hope this is an isolated incident but I wanted to post my experience so others don't get taken for $3000 on a repair that costs $300. Update to reply to your comments. You guys did charge me $65 for your visit, which you refunded after I email you and said I was going to post a review on yelp. There was no misunderstanding, your tech got caught trying to over charge me. I did inquire about just changing the coils vs the entire air handler which he had a reason why he couldn't. I had no issue with the customer service side of your business, I stated I thought it was on point. My issue was with the bogus repair quote. When the term rusted out was used to describe copper tubing I knew he was not being honest. I know the coils can be changed because I have done this at some of the factories I have managed. I also know that when my compressor failed, the prior year, that Acid may have been created in the AC system and it can erode the copper tubing, but it is impossible for rust to form on copper since iron is key for rust formation. read more

I cannot say enough good things! William came over for a second opinion on a repair quote I got from a big name AC company. The first company claimed I had lost most of my R410a to a major leak in the evaporator coil and the replacement was the only option for 3k or replace the entire AC for a limited time deal of 7k. Needless to say I was stunned so I reached out and found Williams. William promptly came out and quickly determined the real issue was a old fan motor that locked up the refrigerant temporarily. I only needed to top off the refrigerant and a new fan motor! Saved me a ton of money! Will definitely call William in the future for maintenance. read more
