But, since he never got our of his car to check, how would he know this. He charged me $1100 to put a $100 worth of screen over my gutters when I could have had all new gutters for $1800. Yes bad decision on my part, but I would suggest no one to do business with this company. The wiring is already coming up while all leaks are still ruining my cedar. So for yall he never got back to you had some good luck.

They did a good job, in a timely manner. The problem was a leak into the garage several months later. I called Carrington, and someone came out and looked at the roof. After that, nothing. My calls were not returned, and emails ignored. In the end I went to another roofing company; they looked at the roof explained that the builder should have fitted flashing, but didn't and fixed the problem. Professional companies that profess to offer good service return calls and respond to emails. This company appears not to be one of them.

We meet with 3 companies prior to selecting Mascon. Dwight, our project coordinator with Mascon, knew more about roofs and options than any of the competitors. He was able to assist us in selecting the best value for our home. (Call the homeowners insurance to determine coverage discounts based on shingle selected). He knew I had cast iron pipes without being told and could anticipate that a competitors suggestion to move a vent pipe would have been costly and risky. Dwight provided the perfect suggestion about the color of shingle. I live across the street from artists and they approve! My favorite thing about working with this trusted, local company, is that I didn't need to get a PhD in roofs and become the supervisor to the contractor. After the installation, I am noticing how the vents were painted to match the shingle color. I love the look of our cricket behind our chimney. Our Patio cover is tied-back into the roof. We never discussed the details about how they would handle this specific region of the roof. I reviewed it today and they planned and executed this so well--without me pointing it out or pestering them to create a solution. This installation was performed during the pandemic. The crew used appropriate social distancing measures with the customers. Dwight always wore a mask when interacting with customers. (The competitors did not want to wear masks during consultation). The crew worked really well together and created a beautiful roof! I am so appreciative of Mascon's work! In summary: excellent consultation process with project manager from Mascon, most experienced crew of the 3 roofers we interviewed, crew received supervision from project manager on the day of installation, the crew was very thoughtful about clean up of the site (used tarps around the house & used magnets to find any stray nails on the ground). I had heard good things about Eric and Horizon Construction so I asked him to come and provide a bid. He arrived on time (actually a few minutes early) and got right to work! He inspected the roof and not only gave us a bid, but valuable information on what to put in the contract in case the seller went with a different contractor. Eric is extremely knowledgable and glad to share his knowledge, in his quiet and unassuming manner. Unfortunately, the seller of the house opted for a contractor he has used in the past. When the roof was on, we had Eric come inspect it and he found some issues with the job done by the other contractor (things like rotten plywood under new shingles, cheap seals that only last 5-8 years in the TX sun, old and frozen vents that weren't removed that will allow rain into the attic, etc). He worked up a full report for us showing the problems and saved us a lot of money in the process. He's very focused on providing quality work and being fair and reasonable in his pricing. Replacing the roof was very important to me and a significant financial undertaking after both the hail storm of August 2023 and May 2025 that I deliberatly put off until a leak from the attic I experienced in the latter half of the year. The price was reasonable for class 4 shingles and solar panel removal on a 3-story roof. The roofing work was done on schedule. All planning previous with material delivery and removal were on schedule. The workers were diligent and thorough with removing the fallen nails after cleanup per my request. I also appreciate Daniel's office staff with scheduling and documentation with insurance working between me and one other decision-maker in the quote process. I really appreciate the work done and willingness to warranty inspect after a year.

We needed a roof replaced on a rental home we were selling. An insurance inspector was only going…read moreto cover 1/2 the roof, but John was able to work with the insurance company to get them to pay for all of it. The roof was finished in one day and looked great. However, the title company for the buyers required an inspection after the roof was complete. This inspector "found" what he thought was rotted plywood from a leak near the chimney. I called John immediately because it needed to be fixed ASAP so we could close on the house on time. Upon further inspection by John, the plywood was not rotted but it had a water stain from a previous leak (that had been repaired) and the integrity of the wood was in place. However, knowing the title company would take the inspector's word over ours, John replaced all of the wood and re-shingled that area. He did this on a Saturday delaying a family vacation so we could close on time. There are many "good" roofing company's but what are they like when something goes wrong? I think it says more about a contractor in how they deal with a problem after the fact. I can say from personal experience that John Brown Roofing was absolutely the BEST in handling this. John did not have to replace the plywood, but he did because he knew it was best in our given situation.
