I went to see Michelle for the first time at the beginning of April for a partial highlight with base break and a haircut, and I am very impressed!! I've been going to an Aveda salon out of fear of breakage, but she uses a gentle non-bleach color that looks just as good and didn't cause breakage. I went to see Stephanie for an all over color and cut. She knows her stuff and her prices are just right. It's been almost a month since I saw her and I am still receiving compliments on my hair color! I asked for regular hair conditioning, but Jackie applied something else on my hair without asking me. It felt hot and tingling. She seemed annoyed when I asked to removed it. Next, she applied a minty hair mask and splashed my ears/clothes with cold water. I asked her to stop it and she justified saying I was the one moving. My hair was drier than ever! I asked her to call the supervisor and she said there wasn't one. I had to find the supervisor myself, but he basically said it's common for clients to get splashed with cold water and get treatments they don't ask for. He refused to get me another hairstylist. Came here on May 4th at 10 am looking to get a simple bridal look for my mom because her wedding was taking place later that afternoon at 3:30 pm. Her hair stylist was Rob and he kept saying how he was going to make her hair glamorous. Sadly he did not. My mom wanted a simple half up half down bridal look with a braid that went back into the ponytail and even provided him with a picture of exactly what she wanted. Rob rushed on my moms hair and I could tell he was hurting her but my mom is too nice to ever say anything. My moms curls weren't made to look like natural curls and my mom had to point out a chunk of hair he didn't curl. Also, the braid wasn't even a braid, it was a knot. And it was held down with a lot of Bobby pins. I guess he tried to correct his work. He kept asking if I liked it and I said yes even though I didn't. It wasn't about me it was about my mom. When she paid and we left, she expressed to me she didn't like it but didn't want to cause a problem because we had already wasted 1 hour. When we got home we had to fix all that Rob had done. What a terrible experience! I came here based on Yelp reviews and Yelp steered me in the wrong direction! I came in for my appointment with Audrey and she informed me her client before me had way more hair than she expected and asked if I could come back in an hour. This was a little frustrating but I understand that sometimes things happen. I wasn't in a rush and she told me she would give me a discount. I came back in an hour. She was ready for me and got to work. During my visit with her she was coughing a lot because she was sick. Her being sick didn't actually bother me because it happens and you've still got to pay the bills. What did bother me is the lack of attempt to cover the coughing from getting on me. Three days later I came down with a cold. When she got to cutting my hair I got more concerned. I guess to sum it up, I could tell there was not a lot of precision going into my cut. I was a little surprised but I'm not a stylist so I thought "lets just see how this turns out". When my hair was cut and dried she got out the color again and began to touch up my hair. I've never had this done before... She mentioned there was some "bleeding" and that the extra color would fix it but if not I could come back and fix it. When it came to pay the bill she gave me a bill of $110. She said she usually charges $150. I got a cut and partial foil. I was charged $110 my previous visit for the same services but was not given a discount. Also, upon looking at the salon prices on your website it appears that $150 is much higher than the standard prices. It seems to me I was never really given a discount despite my waiting an hour to be seen and being promised a discount. When I got home I gave my hair a closer look. I was not happy! First off the length of my hair is not even. One side is shorter than the other. The layers are choppy and don't look right. Lastly, in between my highlights there are "spots" of color. I was going to a holiday party that night and was so sad! I now had to try and hide my hair instead of feel like I am having my best hair day like I usually do after leaving the salon. My experience was truly a nightmare. I emailed J Anthony management and I never heard back from them. I will never be back. read more

Michelle is an exceptional stylist but color is her strength also. She makes me feel comfortable and she is easy to talk to. This salon is kinda busy. Well, I've been going to Diana for 7 years. She does do good nails, but because we don't agree politically, she thought that it would be smart to get on my Facebook and call me ignorant...when you call someone "ignorant", you should really make sure you use the correct form of the word. In Phoenix for business and my hair really needed help. I called around Scottsdale and downtown and couldn't get booked anywhere last minute on 4th of July week. When I was booked easy breezy at J Anthony I was a little apprehensive what I'd be getting myself into. Well Cave Creek is just another 10 min north and J Anthony while unassuming from the outside is spacious and clean with a busy pleasant atmosphere. All the stylists rent their booths which gives it an indepent and easy going feeling, if a little casual for my taste. However, quality is not sacrificed at all. I highly recommend Suzanne. She listens and knows her color and cut. Will take care of you and your hair even if she knows you are visiting and might not be a regular customer. Uses great products. Takes the time to match your hair tone to compliment skin color and is friendly and chatty,...or not if you want. After 8 years of coming here, I can say that Holly is a treasure, an experienced stylist that you can trust to listen carefully and execute flawlessly. There is no one else I trust with my hair, not only is she masterful with hair color, she has a way of finding the most flattering look each time - whether it's layers, no layers, ombre, multiple colors of lowlights/highlights, or grey coverage. Most of the time I just put my hair in her hands and ask her opinion on what she thinks we should do this time. She takes feedback well and has a positive upbeat demeanor without being condescending. In early August stylist Stephanie Johnson styled my hair for my wedding and I couldn't have been more thrilled with the results. She started early and finished quickly with star quality results.
