The burger was sent back twice: once, for not omitting the cheese removal request, and the second time for it being not medium rare as ordered. The chicken potstickers are way too small for their price. Now the good: The pastas are good the strawberry salad was delicious. Best restaurant in Oro Valley! We moved here 3 months ago and have already been back 3 times it is THAT good! Ample parking out in front and back of the restaurant. Beautiful outdoor patio with heaters when it's chillier. We have sat inside and outside and loved both. Our server was Nathan for 2 of the 3 times we have been there and he's spectacular- attentive, funny, knowledgeable about the menu, he's great! Highly recommend the *paper plane* cocktail (off menu item) but it is AMAZING- amaro, Aperol, bourbon, and lemon juice! My favorite dinner item to get is the **SHORT RIB RAVIOLI** - HIIIIIGLY recommend!! It's cheesy and creamy but not over the top heavy. Our other favorite menu item was the **BACON WRAPPED PORK TENDERLOIN** WOWWWW that sauce and the pork tenderloin was cooked PERFECTLY, would definitely get again!! Filet mignon was also great, has a nice char on the outside and served on a bed of mushrooms, onions, and potatoes. The smoky bacon just made this a delicious pair. Scallops were nice too- the salad dressing and scallops paired wonderfully together. Crispy calamari is a nice starter- not too bready and yummy greens on top! Lobster & artichoke salad was delicious, if you like seafood salads. :/Spinach pappardelle was probably my least favorite item we've gotten there, it had roasted chicken, melted tomato, pine nut, grana padano and to me tasted a little bland so I probably wouldn't get it again. Brussels sprouts are also a great option for starters- nice glaze and DELICIOUS!! But, everything else from service to food to cocktails to ambiance, 100/10! Cute space and good food. The Ahi poke was delicious! The truffle fries were great, would have preferred a firmer fry, but that's just a personal preference. A good sign I'm going to like a restaurant is how we are greeted when we arrive and this was a friendly welcome. The bartender Christian was a friendly and attentive man who was helpful in answering questions about cocktails. We chose to sit indoors but this place has a nice and inviting outdoor space. Wait staff very friendly- we were waited in by a very capable waitress who was being shadowed by Areisha (?). Food was fun and different- I had the short rib ravioli which was light and flavorful, my husband had fish and chips which he loved. I really wanted to love Wildflower. I had a fun meal at the bar once so we tried it a few more times and each time had issues. This one in particular takes the cake. The menu is appealing, the space is charming, and I made a reservation a month in advance to celebrate my sister-in-law's birthday -- a particularly important one, as it fell the day before her father's funeral. We were a party of six, and I had hoped for a thoughtful and smooth evening. Unfortunately, the experience was anything but. Despite planning ahead, we were crammed into an uncomfortably tight booth. Our waiter turned out to be the bartender -- a hard-working guy clearly stretched way too thin. He was trying to manage a full bar and our table on a busy Friday night, and it showed. He seemed completely overwhelmed, didn't connect with our table, and gave off nothing but stress. He disappeared for awkwardly long stretches, didn't engage with us at all, and we were left trying to flag down anyone just to ask for basic things -- like bread and drinks, which we had to request multiple times from whoever we could catch eyes with, since we clearly weren't on his radar. Even flagging someone down felt nearly impossible. Most of the staff seemed to be avoiding eye contact altogether. The restaurant was super duper loud -- not the kind of atmosphere where you can have a conversation, let alone celebrate a birthday. Our food took forever. We each had time for two drinks before our meals arrived- and we are not fast drinkers. The appetizers -- grilled artichoke, hummus, and potstickers -- were tasty but still took way too long to come out. When our entrées finally arrived, not all of them were hot, which made it clear the kitchen's timing was off. My chicken dish was completely inedible -- improperly cooked and had to be sent back. I was offered another glass of wine while I waited, which I wrongly assumed would be comped (it wasn't), and by the time my new plate arrived, the rest of the table had already finished their meals. My son's Mediterranean bowl, which we had requested dairy-free, was incorrectly prepared and had to be remade as well. It took nearly an hour for the corrected version to come, and when it did, it still wasn't right but we didn't have time to deal with fixing it. By the time my meal arrived -- nearly an hour later -- the rest of my family had long finished eating. The replacement meal was rushed and meh. Also the Brussels sprouts side were barely cooked and couldn't be eaten while squash was perfect in same dish? The fries were fries- top notch-- but that's about the only highlight. Pasta was good but my family was uncomfortable eating while not everyone was served so did not enjoy. Yes, they comped a few things. No, that didn't come close to making it right; we still paid over $300 for a dinner that was chaotic, mismanaged, and deeply frustrating. What should have been a 90-minute meal dragged on for more than three hours. The energy was off, the service was inconsistent, and the management decision to assign one bartender to a full table and the bar on a Friday night remains baffling. This wasn't just disappointing -- it was a bust. This place may have a solid menu, but it clearly can't handle a full house. It's unfortunate that what should've been a magical evening now feels like a story we're telling for all the wrong reasons. read more

I was checking out Yelp and it asked if I wanted to leave a review for Wildflower and I could not believe I had not done this yet. Let's talk about ambience first, beautiful inside, blue velvet and white, so classic, there's a temperature controlled patio that has so much green, and then there's a sidewalk level patio. I love this place. Everyone here is at the top of the professional scale for a restaurant. The food is outstanding. I have had the calamari (comes with a delicious sauce), all of their pasta dishes (my favorite was the bolognese.) I'll focus on my favorite, the lemongrass skewered scallops - so good! It has this soy butter with it. It's delicious. The short rib, I can't not mention the short rib because that's my second favorite with its delicious potatoes. I can't imagine that anyone would ever have a bad time coming to Wildflower. read more

First of all, I need to commend our server Dan. It was an extremely busy night and he was handling at least 6 tables. I saw him running around super busy but still attending every table with a smile. My boyfriend's soda was never empty! From the beginning to the end he provided top notch service! As for food, just wow. from the bread to entree to dessert, everything was excellent just how I remembered from the first time I went there! Their hummus is amazing! Their braised short ribs is to die for! Their dessert (bar of sin) is a perfection! Love love love this restaurant! The only negative is it could get a little loud. Took the family out to an early dinner at Wildflower and we were not disappointed. It's located in the casas adobes shopping center and is adorned with all kinds of greenery and vines. It makes for a very inviting and comfortable entry. The dining room is beautifully appointed and I love the open kitchen, it really engages all of your senses We were seated in a booth and decided on the winter sangria, calamari and New England clam chowder for starters. The sangria was fantastic fruity and not too sweet. The calamari is fried in this crispy batter and serve with this beautiful green salad and dressing. I've not had that presentation before but it was absolutely delicious. The bread and oil were great accompaniments. For entrees I ordered the short rib ravioli, my mom had the lemongrass scallops, and my hubby ordered the braised short rib. Each dish in addition to being gorgeous completely melted in your mouth. The raviolis were tender and flavorful served with mushrooms and greens. The sauce and drizzle of demi glace really put it over the top. My husband RAVED at the short ribs, I managed to grab a bite and he did not exaggerate. The meat was silky and served with truffle potatoes. We all tasted each other's dishes and my Mom crowned herself winner with her scallop dish. It was accompanied by forbidden rice and green peas. The scallops were perfect seared and some of the sweetest I've tasted in Tucson! Absolutely scrumptious! The service was top tier, attentive but not overly so. What a gem. I absolutely love the gorgeous blue/green color scheme, it had a feeling of real Southern charm. I actually felt a bit underdressed. There is outdoor seating, the spray mist helps you stay cooler. I'm not used to the extreme heat so we sat inside. Our waiter, Kahiko, was such a lovely, polite young man. Always came by to make sure everything was perfect for us. We started with some fresh bread. It was all about that amazing homemade olive oil dip with the seasonings. Gotta start with a couple of apps, a grilled artichoke and their must order of Yellowtail Crudo. OMG, we couldn't get enough of this dish. The soy and citrus juices had our tongues dancing. Whose idea is it to drown a salad in dressing? I literally had to push my food to the side and put a piece of bread in the bowl to absorb all the excess liquid. The shrimp and avocado were on top so they were good but the black rice was swimming. Service was attentive. Sat in the covered outdoor patio. Our baby fell asleep right before we arrived and they were very accommodating to push our reservation back a few minutes and allow us to pick an area that would work with a sleeping baby. We sat on the outdoor patio and it was perfect! Once we got seated, it took a while for a server to come by though, even for water. Ordered a few cocktails that were very well made. We ordered the grilled artichokes and calamari. Artichokes were okay, calamari was delicious! Ordered the short rib and Mediterranean cauliflower for our entrees, both were good but not EXCEPTIONAL. We had a fabulous dinner on a Tuesday which is half priced bottles of wine day. The price for a full bottle ended up being not much more than a glass or two of wine so we ended up ordering three bottles for the four of us. We ended up taking re-corked bottles home. Great deal. From the appetizers through the dessert everything was great. Our sever, Jesus, was incredible in guiding us through our choices and keeping us entertained with his lively spirit. I was vacillating between two dishes so he said he would surprise me with one. It was the braised short rib raviolis and it, along with calamari with arugula, was amazing. Great service all around. The Wildflower is one of the best American style restaurants in Tucson. The food is always good as is the service. It's somewhat pricey, but you pay for quality. The only real negative about it is it is noisy which can be annoying. The ambiance is OK, not the top. read more

Braised beef short rib includes fregola risotto, roasted mushroom, brussels sprout, and horseradish gremolata. This dish needed salt, but is good otherwise after I added some. Wood fired NY strip steak includes a side of charred broccolini, loaded smashed potato, and a red wine sauce. Great steak and potatoes. While the steak was not a perfect medium rare, it was tasty. Overall, this place is worthy of 4 stars and I will be coming back here! Service is excellent here. Our server was attentive and explained the background of Wildflower to us. We came here on my Mother's 80th birthday. This is the original Sam Fox restaurant, we've been coming here since it first opened. So we expected exceptional service and great food. We were not disappointed. The server was fantastic. Very engaging and knowledgeable about the entire menu including the wine options. I started with a glass of the Valrvan Pinot Noir, it was perfect. I had the large pour at $22. I rarely eat beef , but was hungry for a steak. The New York strip was the perfect choice. Cooked to order. Served with mashed potatoes and broccolini. The presentation was as expected. We order the Cinnamon Doughnuts served with a vanilla custard berry marmalade mixture . We actually had 3 orders for the table. We were staying at the Westward Look for the final Wild Wild West Steampunk Convention and found this jewel of a restaurant. We actually came two of our four nights because it was so good and so easy. Service: amazing. Food: excellent.* Wine list and cocktails: superb. The second time we came, we sat on the patio. I lived in Tucson for a decade, and this is one of my favorite things about the Old Pueblo. It can be as hot as the "surface" of the sun all day, but when the sun sets, the air is like a warm cloud. *They do a really good job with gluten free, but some things aren't quite. They brought one of these meals with the cross-contaminated portion separate, but it would be a lot easier if dishes marked GF actually were. And I feel like it wouldn't be too much work to fry small things separately in a sauté pan rather than the gluten-laden fryer. read more

The food was OK but not up to the hype that one would expect given the reviews on YELP. The calamari appetizer was good, the Brussel Sprout appetizer was nothing special. The short rib ravioli was disappointing, the salmon was OK and the parpadalle was also just OK. Just nothing worthy of four or five stars. The service was friendly but inattentive. We have to get silverware off of a neighboring table since they had cleared the silverware after the appetizers and right before our mains arrived. The noise level in the main dining area was too loud for conversation. If you come here, ask for an outside table then you might have a chance of hearing your table mates. read more

Looking for casual and trendy restaurants with great food and great service than look no further. Four of us went out last night after the wife's conference for a late night dinner. The Lebanese hummus was great with flat bread and vegetables. I have to eat gluten free and the pork wrapped loin was excellent. It was nice and crispy on the outside and so tender on the inside I could cut it with my fork. Our server Brittny provided excellent service and was very knowledgeable about the menu.
