We have been dining there since Sam Fox opened it. The food has always been great and excellent service. They just changed the menus and the fish and chips are outstanding! My wife oves the scallops. We always like to have things we don't make at home, and because my mom owned a restaurant and we both worked the front and back of the house we know how to cook! read more

A very classy place. Sometimes I just want to dress up a little and enjoy the ambience of a restaurant that cares about how they present themselves. The food is consistently delicious. The staff is attentive and helpful. I think the prices reflect the quality of the food and the people who prepare it. Great location and ample parking. read more

Excellent all around. This place is ran amazingly. Best service I have ever received. Thanks Nathan

I order a pasta bolognesa it was terrible! No meat and the red tomatoe sauce had a spice like fennel tjat has nothing to do with bolognesa. The place and service are amazing read more

Good food exceptionally slow service. The management seems clueless as the wonder around the dining room.

This is an upscale lunch and dinner establishment, with premium ambiance, service and prices to match. Come and meet friends here for that long "catch up" discussion over wine you've been longing to have, or bring that date you want to impress. The outdoor seating area is especially lovely and comfortable. Reservations are recommended, but it wasn't crowded when we went for lunch early Monday afternoon. The dinner menu is very different from lunch, with a larger choice of seafood section and steak. Dinner is, I expect, a very different dining experience. We have only been here for lunch I had the fish and chips, which I thought was quite well done, with crispy fries and perfectly cooked fish. Coleslaw was the included side, and it was light and tasty without excessive dressing. My wife had the Asian Chicken salad (lunch only) and enjoyed it very much. Not fast casual (go next door to Whole Foods for that) but certainly a place for an enjoyable lunch or evening meal. read more

This could be called a "bistro", I think. It appears to be driven by a single chef. He creates the menu. So it's imaginative, experimenting with different flavors. The most "ordinary" thing on the menu was a cheeseburger, though even that apparently had a twist to it. This is NOT the same as the Wildflower Bread Company in some of the malls. So, first impression. Loud. The decor and layout is attractive, and I liked the view into the kitchen. But for some reason the dining area is really loud. And not from the kitchen, but from other patrons. If there was music I couldn't hear it, so it wasn't that either. The outdoor seating area seemed to be a bit quieter, and I think we would opt for that on a future visit. We ordered a variety of dishes. The "chef's board" was an interesting collection of hors d'oeuvres. My personal favorite was a bacon-wrapped date stuffed with sausage. Sounds weird, I know, but the flavors worked. Also ordered was the chicken pot pie, the bacon-wrapped tenderloin (pork), the paella, and the spinach pappardelle. I got to sample the first three, and they were all really good. Probably the least unique was the tenderloin. I've had bacon-wrapped pork before, and this wasn't much different. Good, but not unique. The pot pie you would think is just a pot pie, but for some reason it wasn't. I couldn't pick out a single flavor that was different, but it was definitely among the best pot pies I've tasted. They paella also seemed to be really good. I'm not a fan of oysters, so didn't try one of them (the paella has oysters, prawns, and clams). But the general flavor from the bite of rice I had was good. My dinner was the spinach pappardelle. They make the pasta with spinach, so it's green. Then there is some leafy spinach mixed in along with a chunked chicken in a light cream sauce. It was really tasty. I don't like spinach, but that is fine because you don't really taste it. It's just part of a medley of flavors that worked, in my opinion. Of the dishes we ordered this was my favorite, so I'm lucky I'm the one who ordered it! The ambiance is casual, but if you show up in a t-shirt you will be under-dressed. You don't need a tie or anything like that, but a decent shirt (like you might wear to the office) and long pants (with no holes!) is the level of casual you will see here based on our visit. Yes, I had a "University of Arizona" t-shirt on, so I was under-dressed. (Hey, we just came from our daughter's poster session at a biology conference!) I almost went to four stars for this one because several dishes had Brussels sprouts, which I loathe. But then i realized that lots of people like them, and I shouldn't penalize the chef for it. The food we had was really good. Pricey, but really good. I think we will be back. read more

I live in Phoenix but I drive to Tucson just to eat at this restaurant. It's that good!!! Whenever I'm in Tucson, I always make sure I stop here for lunch or dinner. I have never been disappointed in anything. Great food, service and experience. The way the chef plays on classics if fun. I believe this is high end dining at reasonable prices. Enjoy! read more

Over a year later and this is still by far my favorite restaurant in the Tucson area, I wish fox concepts had more locations of this specific restaurant, it is up in Oro Valley which is kind of out of the way but is definitely worth the extra effort to get to! I would highly recommend the short rib raviolis, I order this everytime and I hope it stays on the menu forever! (They do occasionally switch some items out) All of there food is good and they have a great happy hour with some extra appetizer choices, my favorites being the fried shrimp and the brie. All the drinks and interesting but most are pretty bitter, sometimes I do wish they had a sweeter option but they do have dessert martinis which are also pretty good for after dinner. read more

Incredible dining experience in this gorgeous restaurant. Upon pulling up, my colleauge and I remarked how immaculate the place looks. The patio dining area is so elegant/cozy and the inside has a beautifully designed homey feel. The hostess was quick and courteous and we were immediately assisted by our phenomenal server, Olivia. Every course we had was insanely good. Started with the sangria and smoked salmon with potato latkes and creme fraiche. Man were they a show stopper! The smoked salmon tasted incredibly fresh and contrasted perfectly with the crispy potato and smooth creme fraiche. The sangria was also fantastic. The server brought me out a sample before I ordered to make sure I'd like it and it was honestly love at first sip! Next time my buddy and I will probably do the pitcher for $20. The entrees were equally impressive. I ordered the short rib ravioli and my friend ordered the braised short rib with grits. Silence befell our table as we tucked into our divine meals. The ravioli was so light and airy yet filling thanks to the delicious shortrib within and the fantastic cream sauce it was lounging in. The mushroom, spinach and croutons served to both enhance the flavor profile and to add a nice textural contrast. My only critique would be that the whole thing was slightly lacking salt...easily remedied. For dessert we had the creme brulee (seasonal) and espresso. The espresso was delicious and the custard base of the creme brulee was good (though a bit dense to be honest) but the bruleed sugar was lacking (there was no "crack", it just tasted of sweet custard). The server noted that it looked a little light and came back with one that was perfect and oh so good. The little sugar cookie that came on the side was a nice touch and was super moist. Overall, we loved our experience at Wildflower. I had experienced their food at the Southwest Food and Wine Festival this past year and was impressed then...I find myself even more impressed now. Olivia, the hostess, the kitchen team, and everyone else at Wildflower definitely have got it goin' on! We'll be back...5 stars. read more

Finally got to try Wildflower! We had a great first dining experience here. It is one of those classy American restaurants, which does not very often see people of minority cultures and I thought I will feel a bit out of place. However, all the staff was very friendly and made us feel very welcomed and we really enjoyed our evening. We got a table pretty quick despite not having a reservation. Service was great, food came out quick after placing the order. The food presentation was very pretty, classy and tempting. Portions were small, but perfect for us. The food was pretty good. But not as much variety as I had thought they would have. Not as many vegetarian options either. Although the cuisine here is advertised as traditional American, some of the food on the menu is really influenced by other cuisines. The lebanese hummus for example. It was good but a little too sour for our taste. Then the grilled shrimp and avocado was simply delicious, but totally asian preparation, with soy sauce, and sauteed charred onions, rice etc. The crispy calamari was good, but bland. The salad with it had a very flavorful dressing. For dessert, we went with yelp recommended bars of sin. It was great but not out of the world. A very enjoyable first experience and will definitely return. read more

Update from my previous 3-star review: Guys, my second time around was way better than the first. My husband and I enjoyed a well needed date night. The service was spectacular and the food was amazing! No burnt food to be found and we were not ignored by our server. Trevor, our server, was fantastic. The manager, Marissa, even came over to make sure my experience went better than my first experience. Because of new dietary health restrictions, I couldn't order the fish and chips again to re-review. Instead, I ordered the bacon-wrapped pork tenderloin. They made adjustments to the dish as I cannot currently have dairy...and man, it was delicious! Attached is a picture of my dish--after I ate every last morsel that is. :D My husband ordered the cheeseburger and he was completely impressed, saying "wow!" as he took his first bite. He also ordered the calamari for us as a starter. They made a few adjustments and made it dairy and gluten free for me and I have to say, we didn't even miss what the original would have tasted like because it was perfect as is! Thanks, chef! We would highly recommend Wildflower. Thanks for changing my mind about your establishment! Pros: Great service Friendly and accommodating staff Great food Timeliness Food allergy friendly Cons: Loud read more

Chic environment with a buzz-type vibe. Open floor plan with visibility into the kitchen/prep area in a good way. We chose this restaurant for our anniversary as we heard it was special. Good recommendation. We were seated in a booth facing into the heart of the restaurant, perfect for a people watcher, which I am. It was a relaxed dining experience, not feeling rushed to turn the table. The food was plentiful and well presented. I enjoyed the Wildflower seasonal salad and bolognese pasta, both were flavorful. My husband enjoyed the Lebanese hummus and spinach pappardelle. Both of these dishes were also delicious and ample portions that could feed two people. We will definitely return and possibly enjoy their patio as well as other tempting menu options. read more

Food last visit cold when served. Some more strange than good. Seasoning salty. Very crowded even outside seating.

Wildflower is such a great date night spot. I love the decor and atmosphere especially the outside patio. On our most recent visit, we came for Sonoran Restaurant Week which included a 3-course menu with a glass of house wine. After looking at the menus offered by other participating restaurants, I can say Wildflower offered the best value. My husband and I ordered the soup du jour and hummus, braised short rib entree, shrimp and avocado entree, and berry cheesecake and bars of sin. Everything was delicious as presented and the service was great. read more

My fiance and I dined at Wildflower for the first time last weekend and we were thoroughly impressed. The covered patio is large and has great mood lighting and heaters for when the sun goes down. The inside is decorated extremely well and had tons of natural light coming in. The mood and ambience was upscale without being stuffy. There was also a diverse crowd of people there--young, old, couples, families, celebrating birthdays/anniversaries. This place fits the bill for any number of occasions. We were pleasantly surprised that we made it just in time for the tail-end of happy hour. I got a sangria, my fiance got a old fashioned, and they were both fantastic. Honestly one of the top 3 sangrias I've ever had...and I've had a lot of sangria in my day. The complimentary bread with the oil dip was soooo tasty. We ordered the artichoke for our appetizer, I got braised beef ravioli, my fiance got whatever the fish special was, and we had the donuts for dessert....everything was so good and the service was quick and friendly! Also, can we take a moment to recognize that Wildflower put donut holes inside the donuts? Revolutionary. Can't wait to go back for another date night! read more

Wildflower - Bread, Sangria, and Old Fashioned - New American Near Me - Tucson, Arizona

Food and service are consistently excellent. One of our favorite spots. Highly recommend the Bars of Sin.

On the plus side: Excellent service. Our server was attentive without being intrusive. We were allowed to pace ourselves rather than be rushed to order entrees and to finish so they could give the table to someone else. No stupid pre-filled out credit card machine, check was dropped off, we were allowed to actually see an itemized bill and pay old-school style. Patio is very pleasant, inside seemed awfully loud. What about the food though ? Considering the prices, a bit of a let down. Brussels sprouts appetizer was just ok. Hummus was excellent but portion rather small. Spinach Papardelle was just a watery mess, that "sauce" is just a very bad idea. Ravioli were highly praised. I was going to try the Fish and Chips but someone at the next table had it and it just smelled very very "fishy", more than it should have been. Bars of Sin were an excellent dessert item to share. read more

I love this place. The salads are amazing.. A little pricey but well worth the price.

Wildflower is probably my favorite Restaurant in the "American" genre in Tucson. The food is reliably good and the entrees are filling without being heavy. I have dined a couple of times at Wildflower, including Sonoran Restaurant Week. My significant other and I were very happy with our Restaurant Week experience. We had their kale salad with pistachios and the hummus for appetizers. The hummus was creamy and tasty, but nothing super exciting. The kale salad was simple but surprisingly delicious! Would definitely order that again. For entrees we had the chicken pappardelle and the salmon. The salmon and accompanying sauces were excellent. The pappardelle in the pasta dish was delicious but the four of us in our party felt the flaked chicken could've been left off. It was dry and we ended up eating around it and pushing it off to the side. I would order this dish again, but definitely without the protein. On a separate occasion, I have had their shrimp avocado quinoa bowl and was very impressed. It was fresh, flavorful, and filling. To finish our restaurant week meal, we had the bars of sin and strawberry shortcake. The bars of sin dessert was so amazing. I'm not even sure wha to say about it. Just get it. That's coming from someone who doesn't usually gravitate toward chocolate desserts. Often times chocolate dessert for me becomes cloyingly sweet and overwhelming, but I just kept wanting to go back for more with this one. The shortcake was topped with a sorbet and rested in strawberry jam. It was also good, but it fell short when in direct comparison with the chocolate bar. The reason I dock a star is the service can be a little spotty at times. Everyone is friendly and helpful, but they seem super busy and disorganized every time I come. On three separate occasions I've experienced issues or delays in receiving bread. One time we asked for it, then never got it. Other times, it takes multiple requests after unfulfilled promises of bread. I guess that's the price to pay for fresh, piping hot sourdough. I thought it was weird that we weren't presented with the restaurant week menu and had to request to see it. We were also helped by 3 different servers who each thought they were covering out table. Perhaps that was just Friday night restaurant week madness. Lastly, I like the ambience at Wildflower. Its got an upscale casual vibe. I almost always try to sit on the patio because it can get loud indoors. Overall, Wildflower is great if you can overlook the bread delays and occasionally disorganized service. The dishes are well thought out and executed and the wine selection is excellent. I will certainly be back. read more

I finally made it to Wild Flower! Heard so many great things about the food here. And it lived up to ALL I heard! Everything was truly made fresh, played beautifully and all the flavors, textures and colors were perfection! I LOVED the Cold Smoked Salmon appetizer, the Farmer's Market Salad and the Striped Bass Daily Special. Sadly, I didn't leave room for dessert. Wild Flower earned the 2018 Northwest Best Desserts Award. Samantha, our sever, was so accommodating and helpful. She was great! Even though the restaurant was crazy busy, all our courses were served in a timely fashion with smiling servers. Sat in the outside patio area and it was a comfortable environment. Tucson is a hot place but between the fans and the shade it was really a nice day to be outside and enjoy a lunch. I ordered the shrimp and avocado while my companion ordered the bbq chicken tacos. My meal was excellent the food really hit the spot and I would without a doubt return and order the same meal. My companion enjoyed his meal as well but was initially kind of disappointed with the size of the tacos since they were a little small for his preference. Overall we both were really impressed with both the food and the service and will without a doubt return in the future. read more

Great lunch place I love the Brussels, the chicken salad, and the soups. They have a nice patio but it fills up quickly.

On my way to Bisbee, I stopped by Tucson and had dinner with a friend. Amazing restaurant and wonderful staff. The ambiance is fun and upbeat, and our server was very friendly. We ordered the cauliflower soup that was on special, the hummus and pita, and muscles for appetizers, everything was delicious and tasted fresh, especially the muscles. The cauliflower soup was amazing, buttery soft and the hint of bacon was not overpowering, instead complementary. For dinner, I ordered the fish and chips, and my friend got the short rib ravioli. We both loved our dishes and enjoyed the time there. Can't wait for my next trip to Tucson. read more

So we've wanted to come here for a while... but it's kinda far for us. I do really like shopping at that Whole Foods, but I never ever remember Wildflower is there, it hides in plain site. So it was my hubs bday and he wanted to finally go here... I looked at the menu, wasn't impressed so try to convince him to go somewhere else... didn't work. I love the decor. I love the layout. I love the kitchen window. I love the patio. Can I just move in? And the service... where do I even start on the service! I wish I remembered her name... she was also bartending, while taking tables... and she handled it wonderfully. Always had a genuine smile on her face. By far the best service we've ever received. We also brought our kids, which I know ppl cringe at kids at places like this... but sometimes we're out of options and we have to. Actually had another server come over and play with our kids... so that helps when you feel a little uncomfortable bringing your kids around. I haven't even gotten to the food yet... the olive oil and the bread! That olive oil is amazing. I'd be find just eating that nonstop. I will try to copy it lol! All our entrees were amazing... I'm pretty sure anything you order will be. Order the donuts. read more

Loved the food! Showed up before our reservation and were able to get seated quickly outside! Such a great place and server was great!

What more can I tell you about this place. It is like a standby of solid reliability. I have been here so often and it never lets me down. The patio is lovely, although I will say the cushions are starting to shows a little wear. The service is always spot on... very attentive. I came here with friends on the Fourth of July, (they were offering 25% off!) and we all had a variety of salads that were fresh and chopped and lovely. The waitress was spot on with plenty of fresh bread and our drinks -- citrus green tea, Moscow mike, Sangria and Martinis -- were all made to perfection. So you may be asking me why I gave only four stars? Well to begin with, we ordered a chef's appetizer plate. The offerings on the plate were rather skimpy in portion. And then I found out it was $22 for the whole thing. I definitely felt we did not get what we paid for. However, everything tasted amazing. For four people it went down pretty fast. And two of the four of us couldn't eat the vinegar dressing as it was rather strong. But I will say, I love the harvest salads as they are fresh and always seasonal. And I might pay more attention to the menu and the price in the future especially if the portion size remain small. ;-) read more

After reading a review of Tucson Yelp's manager, Isabella J., on this restaurant, we decided to eat here for our anniversary last night. Here's a summary of our experience: Wow! Located in the upscale Casas Adobes Plaza, at Ina Road and Oracle, parking was ample and convenient. We had reservations and upon arrival and were promptly seated. The patio was enclosed with seasonal plastic panels and had outdoor heat lamps. We dined inside, however, and was given our choice of a comfortable booth that could sit five or six. The exterior and interior design is upscale, contemporary though not outlandish, and very tastefully done. The layout was organized and did not seem crowded. Though there was a table of customers in casual dress, I recommend business casual and up. The service was impeccable. Our server, Lexi, was knowledgeable on all of the items. I watched her and noticed that every time she came to a transition she would glance our way to check on us. Therefore, when we were ready to order, she knew to come to the table, when we were finished with our soup and salad, she cleared the dishes, when I needed a refill on my lemonade, she came and asked me if I wanted another, when we were finished with our main course, she cleared the dishes and asked if we were interested in dessert, when we were finishing with dessert, she brought the bill. A very nice touch was that after clearing used dishes and before bringing out the next course, she cleaned the table, too. When we ordered, we mentioned that we would like to share the soup and salad, she and her assistant brought it out in separate bowls and plates without asking. She was cheerful and not overbearing. Our meals were incredible from start to finish. The table bread is served with a very tasty dip of olive and canola oil, infused with parsley and red bell peppers. We had the daily soup special of creamed vegetable and the butterleaf lettuce salad. Both were excellent. We had the lemongrass scallops and the seafood special which was barramundy, a mild fish similar to sea bass from Australia. Of course my wife and I split each dish. The crusted scallops come according to your preference of doneness with "forbidden" black rice, melted soy butter, lemongrass and sautéed snap peas. The crusted barramundy came on a bed of risoto that had pine nuts in it. With every initial bite of each element (fish, rice, vegetable, etc.) we each said, "Wow!" It was "wow" through the whole meal. The crust on the barramundy was perfect. I don't know what it consisted of, but it was perfectly thin and perfectly crunchy. The black rice is so intriguing. It has somewhat of a nutty flavor and interesting texture. The scallops were perfectly done (medium well for us). Both dishes were heaven. I had lemonade to drink. I only mention this because it is my drink of choice at restaurants, if they have it. I pass if it is the awful Coca-Cola Minutemaid product. I really got spoiled living in California where I used tree-ripened lemons and made my own. Most restaurants that make their own lemonade really do not make it that great. Either the quality of lemons used or the mix just doesn't taste as good as my own. Wildflower's lemonade was the best aside from my own that I've had yet at a restaurant. Nice balance of sweetness and tartness, and fresh flavor. I had four glasses. OK, dessert--the donuts, of course! Who would have thought that donuts would be an excellent fancy dessert? These donuts, so light and fluffy served with créme fraiche, are much talked about in these reviews. Because it was our anniversary, the pastry chef penned beautifully in chocolate, "Happy Anniversary" on the plate. It was great! I don't know if it was because of our anniversary or if it comes with the donuts regularly, but we also had two chocolate covered strawberries, a homemade Oreo-type cookie, and another small cookie. It was a wonderful experience and we highly recommend this restaurant to all. read more
