Host Assist Manager took it upon herself to confront my wife about an issue she had with me pointing out that she lied. She argued with me on the phone and was unprofessional. Apparently was still upset and 3 weeks later we came to the restaurant. She walked up to my wife and stated, "your husband was rude to my hosts". We had just arrived with family due to my wife's father just being diagnosed with terminal cancer. Thanks lady, you've shown you're not fit to be an assistant or a manager! Move on and get over it, stop lying. read more

My first time at this place was a pretty enjoyable experience! Beautiful venue and friendly staff! I am vegan and unfortunately there were no 100% vegan items on the menu to choose from (unless you want a simple salad) but our waitress was very accommodating and reassured me I could pick anything from the menu and they could modify it for me. I am very thankful for her help and acceptance. It's hard to be vegan amongst your other family members that are not. Going out to dinner should be easy and enjoyable. Having options that are vegan friendly make it so much easier! This place was very aesthetically pleasing and the environment was great! If it weren't for my waitress and her willingness to accommodate me it would have been much harder. I would love to come back and hopefully see more vegan options on the menu! read more

Wildflower - This is my pasta that they modified with no cheese and a replacement sauce. It was delicious!! - New American Near Me - Tucson, Arizona

Very disappointing birthday celebration at Wildflower. My parents come here often and have celebrated several anniversaries here. They thought it would be the perfect place to go for a birthday. We had a cocktail at the bar - the signature old fashioned was delicious. When we got to the table our waiter didn't introduce himself or tell us the specials of the day (we were curious about the fish). Meanwhile he brought us the two Malbec wines so we could decide between the two. Very nice and we got a bottle. We asked his name- Craig. We had the grilled artichokes which were delicious. Two main dishes arrived but we had no forks. No one was around. The third dish finally arrived but we still didn't have forks. Thus a lot of waiting and no attention to detail. No one was super impressed with their meals- Braised short rib was fine but lacked sauce so almost seemed dry. (Requested additional sauce and was given some, which helped) The pasta was fine but lacked flavor and spice. The chipioni had very few pieces of seafood in it and two huge pieces of bread. There was a large piece of fish on it though. My parents love the paella so in hindsight we should have gotten that. Craig was hardly around for the second half of our meal and we needed him on several occasions. I had to flag him down. The restaurant had been packed when we arrived but it had cleared out by the time we were done with our appetizer. Huge mixup with the dessert but we ended up with the Bars of Sin- which had 'Happy Birthday' written. It was festive and fun and delicious. Even sinful! When we got the bill we see they had charged us for the birthday dessert. When we questioned it he said we had to sign up for their club. Why did the hostess ask us if we were celebrating anything when we made the reservation and why has there been a dessert included in the past for celebrations? Mixed messages but we filled out the card. He took forever to process things. I actually left and took a walk outside, came back and they were still dealing with the bill. In an empty restaurant. This was my parents' go to place for guests from out of town and their anniversary. Sadly we're not sure it will be in the future. read more

I have to say I am not a big fan of dinning out but I am glad I chose this place! I had the lemon grass scallops and forbidden rice and I have to say this is an amazing dish. I was also able to meet the Executive Chef, Cesar. He was very friendly and welcoming and asked how dinner was and was really interested on my take on the dish. If you enjoy scallops this is your dish! Needless to say I will be returning and bringing friends and family. A must stop for a great dinner and great atmosphere. read more

Always great service, delicious food and variety and the patio and inside are both so pretty and relaxing. I have taken my Mom a couple times for Mother's Day and Birthday and they are always so happy to accommodate plate sharing. Even gave my Mom a free dessert for her Birthday! I have loved the Mussels, the Yellowtail Crudo, the Short Rib Ravioli and one of their seasonal salads, I can't recall the name, but it was so good with fried chickpeas! Wildflower is always an excellent choice for a delicious, fancy but still laid back meal! read more

Excellent food with a very vibrant atmosphere. This is a fantastic modern restaurant. The food is new American and had bold flavors with very nice side portions. While all the food we had was good, the standouts included the short ribs, the salmon, the Mac & cheese, brussel sprouts and the short rib ravioli. The feel of the restaurant is lively without seeming loud or over crowded. read more

Good one of my fav restaurants in Tucson!! A bit pricey, but worth it. Food is always on point, and the ambiance is great- beautifully done. Have enjoyed Spinach Pappardelle, short rib ravioli, the baked chicken dish, and the pork apple chutney option. Service is usually good read more

Can't recommend too highly. Delicious food, great service, fine ambiance. Sometimes has unusual dishes.

Brought a group of 11 people to Wildflower for lunch this afternoon at 1:00pm with about a 1-hour advance reservation. They were crowded, but were able to seat us on their patio which was pleasant and comfortable, even though approaching the mid-90's outside. The misters did their job. So did the wait staff and chefs. Blake, our only server, was excellent. He was pleasant, friendly, and attentive. It was amazing how he took care of our rather large group. The food was fantastic. Everything was on point. We had a myriad of dishes ordered, and everything came out at just about the same time, nice and hot and delicious. Many thanks to Blake and the rest of the staff for making our dining experience so pleasant. read more

For new American food, Wildflower is a great option. We had take out food during the COVID-19 pandemic and everything we had was incredibly tasty. We shared the short rib ravioli and the grilled shrimp and avocado bowl. The short rib ravioli was a heavier meal and was perfect for a dinner, while the shrimp and avocado bowl was light and incredibly fresh and would make for a great lunch. The cinnamon donuts came recommended as the signature dessert and they did not disappoint, easily one of the best desserts I've had in a while! read more

Visiting the area because of family. I wanted to look for a restaurant that I can relax and enjoy the ambience. I was looking for bougie food and I got exactly what I wanted. My Dad and I shared everything. They were even kind enough to split the pasta into two plates. The grilled artichokes and fries I would definitely recommend. I would eat here again if I am ever visiting. read more

Great restaurant. Terrific food, service and drinks. Highly recommend the Brussel sprouts, salmon and steaks.

I love wildflower. I come back here over and over again. The service is excellent, without being overly attentive. The food is just right. Very good quality without being too precious. There is fabulous variety for anything you are in the mood for. And the ambience is absolutely wonderful. Whether you are inside or outside, I can't imagine anyone being unhappy while relaxing here. read more

Wife and I were visiting the area and we wanted to get together with friends for lunch. Found this place, and thought it would be a good fit for the group of 5 people. Made reservation the old fashioned way...by phone, and that was smooth. The restaurant has an outdoor seating area w/ roof and nice misting fans, but one of the group wanted indoor seating so we opted for that. Very spacious indoor area, w/ pleasant decor, and comfortable seating. The only issue inside was that the noise level was quite a bit higher than pleasant, especially for such a spacious place and at the lunch hour. Will try sitting outside if we return to area and try this place again. The maitre was very helpful in getting us a great table which helped a lot with one of the group who has mobility issues. Wait staff were prompt and amiable, and service was great. Two of the group ordered the Fish & Chips, and both really enjoyed. Exceptionally light batter that did not detract from the flavor of the flaky white fish, presumably cod, though it was not mentioned in the Menu. One opted for the pan roasted chicken and smashed potatoes, and really enjoyed that as well. Wonderfully herb seasoned, and flavorful. Another in the group tried the Spinach salad w/ the added grilled Salmon. The spinach leaves were rather huge overall (not baby), and made for some awkwardness requiring knife to sort out. It would have been a nicer presentation and easier for the diner to handle if the spinach had been cut in a medium chiffonade. The salmon prep, however, was spot-on. Moist and not over-cooked. The oddball entree was what was listed as "Greek Caesar" salad. The description "Caesar" conjures up at least hearts of Romaine, garlic croutons and a Parmesan-y dressing and umami of anchovy. The term "Greek" makes one think of cucumbers, tomatoes, Greek oregano, Greek mint, and Feta cheese. The menu description was: "heirloom tomato, avocado, cucumber, castelvetrano olives, red onion, crispy chickpea, olive parmesan dressing" Well, it turned out to be a large mound of uncut, tangled Arugula, way over-dressed with a "sort-of" Caesar-y dressing, and containing small pieces of ordinary cherry tomatoes, one piece of cucumber and a few pieces of avocado and couple of slivers of the olives . The diner ordered the grilled chicken add-on. That was nicely seasoned and grilled to doneness but not dry. So, overall, the non-salad entrees rose to the top. The salad entrees really need to be improved and presented in a manner that's up to the level of the other offerings. The Greek Caesar salad also needs to be at least renamed to reflect the actual ingredients, with Arugula as the main player. It's neither Caesar nor Greek. I would prefer if that salad were reimagined to be true to the Caesar and Greek nod. Ditch the pile of arugula and incorporate only the classic components of both salad styles. It could be a winner. In a post-COVID world I would also note an issue with the bread service. The server brought a large half-loaf of the Euro style bread on a plate. The loaf had been partially cut into slices. In order for a diner to enjoy a piece of bread they had to handle the entire piece and tear off the slice they wanted. That may be ok for a family gathering, but not really suitable for a meal with casual acquaintances. It would be preferable for staff to cut the slices entirely and present, napkin enrobed, in a basket, so that a diner only needs to touch a single piece of bread, and maybe the napkin. Also, the dipping sauce was in 2 phases, oil on top and a creamy piquant lower layer. Despite mixing w/ spoon they would not emulsify. The 2 phases made it impossible for a diner to serve themself a portion of the sauce, and some resorted to using the sauce bowl as a communal dip....Not good. A few drops of liquid lecithin and a few seconds of a stick blender would have generated a wonderful emulsified creamy dip that could have been portioned individually. I would grade as 3.5-stars, but Yelp has no accommodation for half stars. read more

We visited Wildflower for the first time for my 60th birthday and I am so happy we did. I love the fact that this is a scratch kitchen and it really shows in the quality of the food. When we arrived, we were seated and the waitress put a birthday card on the table and told us that dessert was on them. Bread was brought to the table along with dipping olive oil and butter, and it was delicious. My husband ordered the burger, I got the bolognese and our son got the short rib ravioli. We all loved what we ordered but the pastas in particular were so good, you can definitely tell they are freshly made. For dessert I really wanted something chocolate but my husband and son aren't fans so I got the chocolate bars and we ordered the donuts for them. Oh my gosh the chocolate was so rich and there was definitely enough for 2 so I even took some home. When the bill came, the restaurant had treated us to both desserts which was such a surprise and greatly appreciated. It was a wonderful dining experience and we will definitely be back. read more

Great restaurant! Excellent fresh foods! Great ambiance and vibe. We totally enjoyed the entire experience. A gem in Tucson!

So, we have not been to Wildflower in quite a while. The last 2 visits we had terrible service. While I have never been disappointed with the food & I am overly tolerant of service, it was truly terrible. I am very pleased to say that tonight was exceptional! The service from Casaundra was perfect! She was attentive but let us have time between courses. She refilled water & wine glasses as needed and was truly a pleasure! I had the winter salad which was fresh & tasty, short rib ravioli (incredible) and the donuts with strawberry cream. Dad had the short rib dinner and the apple oat cake-both of which he enjoyed immensely. read more

Wildflower is nice! I'm a fan, especially of their happy hour. I've dined in the main dining room a few times and that is great as well. Really good food and very nice atmosphere. When it's cooler, the outside area is really nice--those views of the Catalinas are hard to beat! I recently went here with my mom for happy hour--it's one of our favorite go to happy hour places. It's daily from 3-6 pm and they have a selection of appetizers for $6 each. They also offer draught beer for $3, house wine for $4 and sangria for $4. I went with the house red, which was a smooth Cabernet Sauvignon. My mom went with a Stella. We got an order of the crispy shrimp which is fried shrimp, with some fried zucchini and fried onions, served with a creamy sauce. Very good and you get a lot! We also went with the bacon wrapped dates which were good, but I have to say that I've had better elsewhere. Lastly we got an order of the Brie which was what you would expect, but very good. The service was solid and I'll definitely be back. read more

Yes I do. Very well run restaurant. Food is great. Wait staff are young but very well trained. We go back often.

Such a lovely meal and experience! We are visiting Tucson from Chicago and found this restaurant on Trip Advisor. We weren't expecting too much but ended up having a wonderful lunch. Besides the delicious food, we had the most pleasant and gracious server, Blake. How lucky you are as a restaurant to have him as your ambassador. Had never heard of Sam Fox but learned a lot and hope to visit his other restaurants. Wonderful lunch! Thanks Blake! read more

I've recently moved here and have been to Wildflower more than any restaurant and have never been disappointed. From the cocktail and wine selection to the in house made pasta you can't go wrong. Wonderful food and staff is amazing. Customer service is top notch. Will be eating here again in the future.

Went out for a nice romantic dinner while enjoying a full moon. Staff acknowledged us immediately and displayed a very friendly/professional attitude. Started out with drinks; of course. Followed by the soup of the day, and the Farmers Market Salad that I must recommend. Hauney enjoyed the Grilled shrimp with avocado all on forbidden black rice; DELICIOUS. read more

My favorite spot in north Tucson! Fabulous food and cocktails, great atmosphere (especially the patio) with lots of green vibrant plans, and I've always had good service. This place feels like LA but tastes like a small town in the Midwest. It's a great place to go if you're not planning to eat and maybe you just want to have a bouchée vibe. This is the typical Oro Valley retiree style restaurant, quintessentially bland. The food really isn't good. It seems like perhaps they cater to older folks who prefer their food prepared that way. It's not half as bad as some of the other awful OV spots. 5 stars for the ambiance, 0 for the food. read more

Wow!!! My husband brought me here for my birthday and Wildflower did not disappoint. Our server, Alex was amazing!! Alex was very knowledgeable, professional, personable, articulate and poised. To sum Alex's service up, it was nothing short of amazing--best server in Tucson. This evening's culinary geniuses provided us with flavorful and decadent dishes beginning with Hamachi & Charred Avocado Crudo. This appetizer was light, but so flavorful. It paired well with a glass of Albarino wine. (Yum!) An 8 ounce pour was perfect to accompany not only the Hamachi, but also the Lemongrass Skewered Scallops! The Lemongrass Scallops were cooked perfectly and served atop of crunchy halved snap peas, arugula and "black rice." I left no trace of this meal on my plate! I doubt you would, either! Of course I sampled my husband's dinner, too!! He had smoked maple porkchops atop perfectly charred brussel sprouts w/bacon and tasty butternut squash. The plate on which it was served, returned to the kitchen absent any reminisce of the delicious meal! Following dinner, I chose to try the Cosmo Spritz. It's my birthday, so why not do it big and sample one of the handcrafted cocktails. Once again, I was impressed. This drink was light/refreshing and not overly sweet. Dare I say it again; it was perfectly crafted! There were so many other appealing drinks on the menu, but it was a "school night" and control was key! Time for dessert!! At this point, you might think me a lush or gluttonous. It's only fitting, I chose to end the evening with the "bars of sin" dessert and a smidgen of Frangelico. WOW!! Praline chocolate cookie & cappuccino mouse paired with vanilla Gelato... This dish is the only one I was unable to finish! The "bars of sin" is a dish I would recommend sharing. The hubby and I will be enjoying round 2 tomorrow night. Bottom line... Amazing food, drinks and service. My husband and I are now committed to trying the menu in its entirety! If we are able to keep THE AMAZING ALEX as our guide, I know each visit will be an amazingly curated experience. read more

We had a lovely lunch at Wildflower. Our server, Holly, is one of the best customer care professionals we've encountered in a very long time. Holly welcomed us as first time diners. When she noticed that our table on the patio was unstable, she volunteered to get a wedge to fix the wobble right away. I was experiencing some stomach angst and couldn't eat right away. Holly suggested some bitters, which helped! Then she gladly brought to-go supplies for what became my picnic lunch. We live 45 minutes away, but we will return to this welcoming eatery. read more

During this strange time of life where restaurants are only open for pick up, Wildflower has pulled me in! My husband received an email advertising a family dinner promotion last week. We thought every item in the family dinner would be things we would enjoy and we were correct! The dinner was a salad, garlic bread w/ pesto, lasagna and dessert. You were also able to add a bottle of red or white wine for an additional $15. The dinner was insanely delicious and worth every cent! We started with the salad and it was superb! Being part of the Fox family restaurants, which is related to North, the bread is just a wonderful treat! The lasagna was a generous portion and incredibly rich and far better than any lasagna I've ever had. Everything was just freaking awesome! Now the piece de resistance in my opinion was the lemon meringue pie! It was beautiful with the perfect amount of meringue and every bite was pure BLISS for me. We added the bottle of wine and that was a wise decision. We decided on the bottle of white wine and it was so damn good that I looked it up online to see where I could purchase it in the future. I had been to Wildflower once before to celebrate a birthday and it was mind blowing then and still is now. I plan to go back for another dinner for take out in the next week or two! They're currently advertising an amazing dinner for two and I don't think I can pass it up! If this review is on the gushing side, it's because my family eating this meal was totally impressed! read more

After browsing several Tucson Valentine menus, I decided to make a reservation for my fiance's birthday which also happens to fall on Valentine's Day. Their dishes seemed right up my alley. I've had my choices lined up for almost two weeks. In hindsight Valentine's Day probably wasn't a great night to come. The restaurant was (hopefully abnormally) swamped; we weren't getting great attention from our waiter but I understand she had multiple tables to which she had to attend. Every table was occupied. The chairs were decorated with helium valentine colored balloons. I started with the lobster bisque which had only minute bites of lobster meat. It was flavorful and had lots of textures including croutons, fried leeks, and potato chunks. I made the mistake of choosing paella for my entree. The rice was overcooked and soggy and the seafood was rubbery. To their credit presentation of my plate and everything else I saw coming out of the kitchen was great. Finally dessert was the cinnamon donuts which were excellent. I received two including the holes. Not greasy and perfectly bathed in cinnamon and paired with a sweet and tart fruit parfait. This was my favorite part of the meal. So was it good? Yes. $55 prix fixe per person good? Probably not. read more
