Typical overpriced tourist town food. My hubby's BBQ chicken was quite good, but his corn on the cob was soggy. My burger was overcooked and nothing special. Loved the sweet dill vinaigrette on the salad. My in-laws got a burger and veggie burger, both of which were just ok. Onion rings were solidly mediocre, sweet potato fries were pretty tasty. They had a good draft selection but my husband's first glass had lipstick on it. They happily replaced it with a fresh one. Probably wouldn't come back here again. read more

We specifically asked for our salmon to be taken off a few min early, instead it had the consistency of a deck of cards. The prime rib was DEFINITELY Friday's left overs reheated. The ribs were tough, dry and dunked in a bottle of bbq sauce after they died a second death on the grill. The only item that was properly prepared was the salad... This was the best decision I made to stay here instead of Flagstaff. Once I found the rooms that are co-located and are unique I decided to stay here. The first thing I noticed in the room, other than the unique style, was how comfortable the bed was. I had just spent the night at a Doubletree the night before and this bed was way more comfortable than the bed from the Doubletree. The pice of the room also includes a breakfast the next morning. The breakfast was home cooked and more filling than any chain hotel. The staff was very friendly from making sure I was taken care of to just having regular conversations they made me feel like I was visiting family. They even allowed me to park my motorcycle in the courtyard so that it would not be on the street. I cannot speak enough about just how much the team here cares about your stay. This is the place to stay when in this part of Arizona forget Flagstaff! read more

Not what I expected. So much more. We enjoyed it all. We spent the weekend in Williams and spent the night here. We will be back with our friends The western themed hotel rooms are as comfortable as they are clever, the service is fast and friendly, the atmosphere is old west with the modern comforts, the food is wonderful with large portions, the hospitality would make the south blush, the food is worthy of a double reminder - excellent... The owner is usually there and welcoming. If he is there, just look for the tall cowboy who is talking to everyone and clearing the tables or working in the rooms. Not afraid to get his hands dirty. He will also stop and talk with you.. He is also the mayor of the town. The one true sign of a great little place is when the locals even like to come in and hangout for a drink or a meal and will "chat a spell" with you ! The rooms are small, yet comfortable. We had the China Valley room. The only thing that got us out of the big comfy bed was the thought of the breakfast. If it was half as delicious as the dinner was the night before, we would be happy. It was worth the effort of getting out of bed! Everyone you met there was happy and helpful. Its also affordable. Better priced then the chain hotels down the road. read more

Had all the making of an epic evening meal, however that wasn't the case. Our server/waitress was great. However, tickets were mislabeled, and while she tried to sum it up, John, the manager I am assuming, came out and made a mess of things. We had two tickets on the same table and he, instead of understanding that was one of our parties orders, got extremely offensive, even after we explained. He took it out on the server, who was visibly distraught by his lack of professionalism and respect. Then, the rest of our party were served ice cold steaks. We sent them back and afterwards he came out in a very combative stance with a matching attitude. Accused our party of cursing at the servers, but when he brought them out they confirmed we didn't. Instead of deescalating the situation and kindly offering to make it right, he started to scream and curse at us, paying patrons, in front of every other paying patron. As he cursed at us, screaming for us to leave, while we were still eating, not offering to even compensate us for inedible meals. He did this to the point where other patron walked out. Not the best way to represent a professional establishment. When we said we will not leave, until we are refunded and everyone else can finish eating. When is yelling, screaming and cursing didn't work he called the police on us because we wouldn't cower to his bullying, which I'm sure he directed at his staff also, as they looked uncomfortable. While waiting for the police he continued to curse at us, calling us derogatory names and still trying to be a bully, as we politely waited for the police. All was settled eventually. At that point we didn't even care about getting our money back, it was more of a matter of principle, that this grown man would act like a child, use intimidation, name calling and cursing at the top of his lungs, after his staff confirmed we were polite and that both steaks were not cooked. If you are in Williams, save yourself the heartache and eat at another establishment, that takes pride in the food they cook, service they provide, and treating the customer with respect. I eat out at many restaurants all over the country. In my many years of I have never encountered any type of manager act as inappropriately as John did. Based on my experience I would recommend a different establishment while in Williams. There are plenty of new establishments, that I am sure would appreciate your business! read more

Someone at the bar changed the music from rock to Country which absolutely made my night, I told my husband to just leave me and come back to get me in the morning. But about the food! I am that person that prefers eating at home, I rarely rarely enjoy eating out. I was amazed and ate myself stupid. Come HUNGRY!!! We asked a local where to go for great BBQ, and she told us about this place. We would never have seen it! We were thinking of going to the other place with the outside smokers, but the reviews were not good. Let me tell you, we felt bad about leaving some of ribs behind, but we couldn't finish them! So this was very disappointing. We were in Williams on our way to Flagstaff when we ate here because another place we love when we have come to Williams was not open on Sundays so we went there. When we went into the place a young girl was sitting at a table and very unprofessional but we were hungry so we overlooked it, Then all of the sudden she left and a big guy came out of nowhere and we looked at him like deer caught in headlights for some kind of recognition. He said the hostess will be back in a moment just sit down but we said she said just wait. So we did and we begrudgingly ordered off the most astronomically priced menu I have ever seen for a small town. The food was terrible and the size and portions were a joke. My steak was about the size of my hand which isn't that big. Children brought out the food which was charming but they didn't ask if we wanted any condiments water or anything else. So, I needed steak sauce to try and eat the tasteless steak and butter for the baked potato that was drier than the Great Potato Famine of 1845. We waited and waited and waited and no butter or sauce came and no offer for water or refills either. They are way out of their league with the place we wanted to go to and I guess they figure Sunday is the day to corral all those cattle rustlers from the other place that has the best steaks in town. read more

I travel alone in this grand country and my inclination is toward isolation, meditation and contemplation. Still, a little social engagement is fun and the best venue for this are bars. Now bars can be peculiar things. Entering some, you feel shunned. Entering others and hormones are the chief factor at play. But there are a special few establishments that have welcoming bartenders and a local crowd who enjoy pleasant conversation. Such is the case here. Here, the locals play a major role and the bartenders know each and every one of them. There's a pleasant, gregarious atmosphere which you can simply enjoy or participate in if you so desire. I have had many enjoyable conversations here with ranchers, cops, accountants, etc. Tourists seem to enrich the conversation and are readily included. I've never dined here so I cannot comment on the food other than the portions seem generous and diners seem satisfied. read more

Nice little find. Recently, we took a trip to Williams, AZ, and made arrangements at the Wild West Junction, and I am so glad we did. Being at the Wild West junction was like stepping on to a movie set. Wild West Junction has so much to offer. While at Wild West Junction we stayed in two different themed rooms and both rooms were fantastic as were the amenities. The Mayor of Williams (John) owns the property and likes to visit the patrons as he walks around the grounds. The Mayor was very nice and welcoming and goes out of his way to speak with everyone. I would recommend this property to anyone travelling through Williams. The staff was very friendly and helpful. West Junction was a great place to stay right on the main drag in the fun town of Williams. read more

We just checked out of the trapper room this morning. We had an absolute blast in Williams and this room was the perfect fit for the environment. It was decorated perfectly but John was the real reason for the 5 star review. He managed to get us in on a cancellation on a three day holiday weekend when the entire town was sold out. The prices didn't change from the regular rates, either. John made us feel so welcome and he took the time to get to know myself, my husband, and our two kids. He's a genuinely nice and caring person. The rooms have actual keys instead of plastic and that was a nice touch. The restaurant was delicious, too. We sat outside and the atmosphere was perfect. Both of our waiters were incredibly friendly. We really enjoyed the entire experience and we'll definitely be back in the near future. read more

While passing through Williams, my wife and I happened upon this quirky little western motif town at the end of the main street. We were laughing at all the neat little buildings, when out pops Carol, the housekeeper, who offered us a tour of the "themed rooms". These rooms are the best themed rooms I have seen, with meticulous details. Cleanliness was a given. Afterward we stepped into the Bar and met Candy (sp. Kendee) and Bob, who apparently run the place. Needless to say we were so blown away by their charm and hospitality we booked the 'Bordello Room' for the night. After roaming the streets of Williams, my wife and I ended up back at the fire pit which was lit and warm. Before we knew it 12 other people just strolled from parts unknown to come together for a magical night of good cheer around an open fire. If you are planning a stay anywhere within a 100 miles of the Grand Canyon cancel those plans and book here. Better hurry though, I think the secret is out and they may end up being booked months in advance, but call nonetheless. read more

This review is for Drover's Inn: We loved our stay in the Movie Room at Drover's Inn/Wild West Junction. We were passing through on 10 day Route 66 roadtrip and this was one of our highlights of the trip. The "town" is expertly built with careful attention to scale that makes the property feel like the movie set of a Western. I loved the attention to detail in the fixtures and decorations in our room; I'm a designer, so I love seeing such care and thought. Everything was clean and well maintained. The owner is a very kind, quiet cowboy type of guy (and apparently the mayor of Williams?!) and both my boyfriend and I were totally charmed. I was happy to see that the little complex also includes offices for small business owners and serves as the meeting place for the Kiwanis club. A true contributor to the community you're visiting :) At sub-$100 including breakfast for two, this is an unbelievable value! Give this hardworking staff some good business! Our group of 11 rented out all five rooms of the Wild West Junction during Thanksgiving and had an amazing time! The rooms each had their own theme, ranging from "The Bordello" room to "The Trapper" room, with the decor matching the theme. It felt like you stepped into the wild west, but with clean, comfortable beds and hot running water. Our stay included breakfast each morning and we were all surprised that instead of the usual muffin and doughnut continental breakfast, we were able to sit down and be served on by very friendly and attentive waitresses. The best part about our stay here, hands down, was how warm and welcoming the staff was. Jon, the owner as well as the mayor of the town, made us feel right at home. If we had a question he couldn't answer, he was on the phone with someone who could. He was always there if we needed something, even clearing our plates! Camille, the bartender/chef/room keeper, was the most accommodating and friendliest lady I have met in some time. We had told her in advance that we were looking for a place to have Thanksgiving dinner in Williams and she offered to cook us, remind you a group of 11, a traditional Thanksgiving dinner. We were treated to a humongous, juicy turkey with stuffing along with homemade mashed potatoes, gravy, green beans, corn, yams, cranberry sauce, and fresh rolls from the oven. To top the amazing meal off, individual champagne bottles with pumpkin and pecan pie. We were all sad to leave Williams and the Wild West Junction, we even tried convincing ourselves to extend the vacation! Not only does this place offer the charm of the wild west with themed rooms and their own little "town" complete with a saloon, it's the people and staff with their friendly smiles and bend-over-backward accommodating attitudes that will definitely have us coming back. After a few months, the wild west junction has finalized their menu to a nice sized menu, and made the place more welcoming and accessible. The breakfast menu is great and has some very good, western cowboy options. The price is in line with everything else around here, but the quality is better that other places. It seems like they aren't as reliable on canned goods as other places, which is nice. if you want a nice breakfast, at a decent price and a fun atmosphere check out WWJ. How does this place only have 3.5 stars? Super friendly locals, $7 heftily-portioned brekkie, and a tasteful cowboy atmosphere... what the hell else do you want in life? Maggie is an absolute sweetheart. Not only did she make sure we got exactly what we wanted and kept our coffees topped off, but she filled us in with local knowledge about the fuzz, warmly cautioned us about wildlife on the highway that could jump in front of our motorcycles, and reminded us to stay hydrated in the high desert.
