A good tree trimmer and cleaner envisions how the trees will grow back and how that will impact your maintenance, views, and charm of your home and yard. Quoting was good process, minus an hour late to appt with no notification. They didn't finish the job and strung us along that they were then eventually ghosted. I now have to pay again to have stumps ground and clean up the mess they left. They lie and say they are using a tree specific sealant, but I found empty cans of cheap acrylic spray paint. They took advantage of my elderly parents, crew was dirty, lazy and took naps on the property while they were supposed to be working. When I contacted the owner Mike and Jesse his fall guy, and no results. Took $7000 to trim a few trees, they didn't even complete the work they took their own pictures of. What a nightmare! They first came out after a day of rain and I questioned whether it should be rescheduled to to health hazards. I should have insisted but was schmoozed by the onsite manager. At the end of they had broken off 3-13 inch limbs of my aloe Vera, dropped a big branch on my1 week old fence, dropped another branch on an iron chair(ruining the arm), then driving out made and 8 inch rut in the grass by the drive and another rut by my gate. Jesse the sales guy promised all would be remedied. It is now a month later and my fence is still crumpled. The team he brought did fix the rut on the drive but not by the gate. My chair arm is still ruined. When I texted Jesse (3 times) fixing the fence was put off. Through out my talks with Jesse I pleaded with him not to take advantage of me...and yet here I am. Do not do any business with this company unless you have a written contract for every single thing they promise. this joke of a company came to my home destroyed my trees. when I asked for 2 trees to be trimmed in a smaller shape like a half circle. what I got instead they raised the canopy 6ft high and 2 uneven tops of the trees. I found this company on the computer. I'm a property manager and we are set to pay out companies within 30 days if not sooner. My invoice came in while it was time to pay the owners and her contribution to pay out this invoice was being refunded back to the owner. the system was seeing this as rent income. Unfortunately, the bill just kept getting bigger and bigger. I decided to pay it out of pocket to avoid any more late fees. After explaining the situation to the owner. He told me that his late fees are there to protect them from situation like mine, Which I totally respect. Original invoice was $890. The job was completed on June 7th. By the 21st it was a little over $1400. Mike was able to bring it down to $1040.which I'm thankful for. However, If your a property management company I don't recommend that you use them if your set up like we are. I stand by by client and can't charge her their late fees, knowing this was a system error. so I had to eat the difference. We manage over 800 properties and I have not ran into a situation like this. Over all they did a great job came out right away and would recommend them. Wild Oak Tree Services did a job for my neighbor for a very good price. I was very impressed with the way they tied a tree so it fell precisely in the narrow space between our houses without bumping into anything so I decided to hire them too. Jessie went out of his way coming after the end of his day to do the estimate at a time that worked for me. He knows his stuff and made recommendations based on tree health and type. He pointed out that someone had "topped" a couple of my trees that were growing in an ugly tangle and explained that they would never grow right after that. He gave me various options to work within my budget and even threw in removal of some smaller trees. The team was friendly and hard working. I wasn't able to watch most of it but I will say they removed some very difficult large broken branches that were waaaay up high; hauled away a tremendous amount of wood in their chipper truck, and got the job done quickly with a smile. After a really bad ice storm in February 2023 that left far to many of my huge oak trees damaged & broken along with just as many huge cedars trees that were damaged & split wide open, I decided I needed major help getting the 1.20 acres back in order. Do not hire! Completely unacceptable job! We hired Wild Oak Tree Service to trim dead tree limbs hanging over upper/lower deck and roof! The dead branches over the lower deck were not even touched. I sent photos, and asked Mike over and over again, to come back and do what he agreed to do! **Do not hire** Wild Oak Tree Service. We had a horrible experience. Was quoted $1800 Total by the owner Mike Ruiz. Down from 2k. The crew came and left early without completing their work. Many trees were left incomplete and when I asked the field supervisor he said they would need to come back another day to complete the project and clean up. The owner Mike Ruiz got involved and everything went downhill from there. He was insisting that we pay for the incomplete project and also kept sending different invoices much higher than the $1800 total that he agreed on. When we said we would like the work completed and the correct price to be invoiced before paying he began to get agitated and abusive. He also claimed that we were given a $4,000 estimate and a $2,000 estimate and that we chose the cheaper estimate. A complete fabrication. Never happened. $4000 would cover my house and both neighbors. Not only was Mike not willing to complete the job and honor his $1800 total quote he began to harass us and although he never met me or my family he made inappropriate comments about my wife and children. I was completely shocked! I have never experienced a person that is so bold. Why would someone speak this way to his customer? When I refused to pay until the work was completed and the invoice was correct Mike then began to threaten to file Theft of Services charges claiming that we would go to jail. Who does this? He also kept taunting me. Super immature. Once he realized his threats and insults were not going to work he decided to return to complete the project so he could get paid. The absolute worst customer service and zero resolution experience. I hope this review serves to warn potential customers of what they could experience if they do business with Wild Oak Tree Service. We are completely disappointed. It's also ironic that both neighbors were waiting for me to let them know if we were happy as they need tree trimming performed as well. Of course I could not recommend. I have attached the threatening letter that he pulled from the internet and sent to us as a means to collect on an incomplete job. I am still blown away by the tactics. Even though the price was still higher than what he quoted it was worth it to just pay him off to be rid of him and the Horrible experience. Mike and his guys were great! They put me on the schedule right away and just in time because a branch fell off the dead tree a few hours after I scheduled them. I got multiple quotes and their pricing was great. I had just put sod in but, they made sure to be careful with it and left may yard looking like there was never a tree there in the first place. Not a bad company because they eventually got the job done, but they are really bad at communicating with the customer and keeping their word. They showed up the first day to give an estimate on my tree that had fallen at the beginning of the month, and even stated to us that by paying a security deposit of $500 we would be "securing" our appointment a week later for it to be removed. Come the day of the appointment they completely no showed. we called, texted Mike Ruiz, and even sent emails. No response until the next day, I was told they had scheduling issues and moved my appointment to the NEXT week. Come the day before my next appointment I called them to be sure I was still scheduled, they assured me they would be there at noon. Come the next day they no showed/ no called again.... it was frustrating that they would not return any of my calls, emails, or text messages. I had been out $500 already which was supposed to "secure" my appointment, and after reading other reviews I was sure they would refuse to give me a refund on my deposit. I called mike the next day and asked why they didn't show up, I was told that they scheduled more appointments than they should have and they couldn't do too many a day. He then told me they would be there the NEXT week "for sure, no questions asked." I then asked him what if they don't show again? Mr. Mike Ruiz told me that I would be " entitled to a full refund, and he would do the work for free" . The next week came and again....No call/no show/ no reply. They ended up coming the next day to start and finish the job. I never expected him to keep his word about doing it for free, I mean if they couldn't do it for MONEY IN HAND....why would they come for nothing? after I received my bill, I never heard from mike. Sorry about the story time, but I want to warn everybody before they use this company. They lie, wont return calls/ messages, and are very unprofessional. Owner is a helpful and knowledgeable salesman but it's very deceitful to make such false statements about being certified/licensed so I was not comfortable conducting business with them. We contacted Wild Oak Tree Service to have two very intrusive old trees, that were causing plumbing issues ,removed from one of our business properties. Had them originally come out to do estimate on 50 trees removed and stump grinding. Price was a little high than owner wanted to pay at this time. So asked for estimate on 10 trees that she picked out. He gave a blind estimate of $2000 ($200 per tree) guess he thought his crew could do it in a day. Since he did not come out to look at trees and one was larger than others it took two days at which point he tried to double the estimate after the work had been done. It was not our fault that it took him 6 loads to dump. His crew also cut down two extra dead trees, which we agreed to pay for, but when they came out to grind the stumps they deliberately left to largest of stump plus two others. So it went from $2000 to $2600 to a final invoice of $2814. So now based on how this all worked out we will not be using them to do the rest of trees. His loss. I will say this though his crew worked very hard and for most part did a good job. read more
